    Neil Gaiman said on Tumblr: "That's the only line in the show that David improvised. I believe every take he'd order a sherry for Aziraphale with a different request (in the script I thought he'd be too far away to hear so I hadn't written a line). I love that he calls Aziraphale "Lady Bracknell" for all sorts of reasons."

      @@crisarleyva5349 Just a reminder that he also said he simply likes seeing people so invested and coming up with their own thing, he did say not to take his likes as any indicator of how canon something is. I do think the ones he likes hit Some level of truth, but not entirely.

    • @ferrous719

      @avocadothecat actually he refuses to read them on the basis of there's no way to prove he didn't come up with an idea independently unless he avoids all headcanons and fics. Many authors ascribe to this thanks to a fan who did indeed sue an author.

    • @handsdowntoo7150
      @handsdowntoo7150 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +23

      He says Lady Bracknell (the subtitles are wrong). She's a character from The Importance of Being Earnest who represented Oscar Wilde's view of the Victorian upper-class...she's posh but prissy, always maintains a stiff-upper-lip, is set in her ways (and refuses to change even when she knows she is wrong), considers herself full of class but is openly rude and insulting towards others, and has a long list of strict "social rules" in her head that she believes everyone should follow (but will happily ignore those rules if they get in the way of what SHE wants).
      Crowley is being affectionate with this nickname, but there are definitely some similarities between Aziraphale and Lady Bracknell. 😂

      @@calliarcale I don't mean any offense or judgment. It was a hard filming, and didn't Tennant and his fam get real sick with the COVID at some point? Even in the bloopers and BTS stuff, Tennant seems to be struggling, IMO.
      Also, it really shows how they were doing Dr. Who stuff at the same time. Half the time I think the character seems like the Doctor, not Crowley. Of course, the writers were Who writers, and the special effects were Who effects, and the terrible action choreography was definitely Who... So I can forgive Tennant for being confused. I never felt like I was watching Good Omens, just a long weird Dr. Who special. Especially the whole fire extinguishers fighting demons thing...OMG so cringe, I was dying of secondhand embarrassment.
      My viewing partner, who has never seen Dr. Who and knows nothing about it, kept asking me, "Why is Crowley's character completely different this season? What changed here?" Looking at the crew, it's obvious what changed.

      You are projecting buddy. Completely projecting. It's fine if you didn't enjoy the season, but ranting and raving making up narratives and projecting things is frankly insulting. Given that the mannerisms Crowley displayed this season are actually more book canonically correct than Season 1, you either need to read the book, or you just need to step away and allow your brain to chill out. I'm frankly going to assume you have never read the book if you think the fighting scene was at all out of character for any of the characters or out of the universe for the world of GO. (I can only imagine what you'd have said about the book sequence of events lmao) Crowley also had very obvious (and clearly stated) reasons behind 99% of what he did this season too btw. @@The_Serpent_of_Eden

      @@The_Serpent_of_EdenAre you kidding? Remember that Neil Gaiman was trying very hard to bring as much of Terry Pratchett into this since he wasn't there to lend a hand to it. Which meant a lot of silliness in areas that would usually be serious.
      The way you're talking about Tennant you make it seem as though he has early stage Alzheimer's and it's very disrespectful. I spent the whole season staring at his and Sheen's microexpressions in their acting. Every moment was so intentional, there's no way he was half asleep.
      I can't think of anything Crowley said or did that was different from how he always was. That we saw softer or more thoughtful moments is the nature of the plot direction (no more worrying about being caught with Az) and has been hinted as his true but suppressed nature throughout Season 1 (the ark offence, can I give you a lift, you're so clever, go off together etc).

      @@demo2823absolutely correct. His acting is marvellous, always on the spot, and nobody could impersonate Crowley better. But then, I never was a big fan of Dr. Who
