What I love most about this is boxed chocolates weren't invented/mainstream for another *_53_* years. Crowley literally came up with the idea of boxed chocolates for Aziraphale.

I retract my statement. I have reread the book. Crowley does not steal and even has investments and makes actual money. I assume the same of Aziraphale since he does taxes by hand extremely accurately (and has been investigated multiple times because of it). I apologize for my former ignorance.

according to a comment I read, the chocolates we know that are for gifts were invented roughly circa 1847, so he didn't just bought them. he literally INVENTED gift chocolates just for his angel.

When the script says that Crowley was having too much fun with the voices I genuinely wanted to cry, because, goddamn it, this would've been one of my favorite scenes. Also, Crowley with the chocolates for Aziraphale made me so incredibly happy.

@@crowsandghostsNo, it's a real deleted scene. You can only find it in the Waterstones edition of the Good Omens Script Book, bit it was real. It was just never filmed.

Actually Neil Gaiman has said the first scene where he properly decided to write Crowley as David Tennant was the scene set in WWII so it’s safe to assume that he was sort of doing it here too

@@Alucard45000Michael Sheen is an excellent actor. Besides acting like the most adorable angel, he can do scary roles quite well, he was Aro in twilight. But I think he’s perfect as Aziraphale, David Tennant’s also perfect for Crowley.
@@MinisDunyasi5 I know that, but Neil said at first it was Michael that was going to play Crowley, but when they got closer and closer to start filming both Neil and Michael were unsure if he would fit the role and both were worried the other one was sure of the role, so they switched and David got cast as Crowley, which turned out to be one of the best decision they made!
Michael and David have such good chemistry its amazing to watch!
They usually go up for the same roles in movies or plays so they hadn't worked together really before apart from one movie called "Bright Young Things"

In the introduction of the script book it says "{...} Douglas MacKinnon, our director, and I sat across from each other in a Camden kitchen, and rolled up our sleeves, and did a draft that acknowledge the realities of our budget. Scenes and characters went away{...} Aziraphale setting up his bookshop in the late 18th century and being given a medal. His medal was never given to him, but it was still in the bookshop.
Scenes went because they would cost us too much."

You can “bring” him along. Before the metatron said that Aziraphale did turn him down. The metatron only offered because he knew Crowley would refuse

After season 2 this is really interesting to revisit bc it makes me wonder if this was how they were planning to get Azi back to heaven to begin with, and then it got changed when season 2 happened
I’m surprised this scene exists because I thought Neil wanted Good omens to be as accurate to the book in honor of Sir Terry. This scene plus Gabriel aren’t in the books.
Season 2 is interesting because it is the metatron not Gabriel that took Aziraphale back to heaven.

I think even without this scene Gabriel’s comment was self explanatory. Crowley miracles or the demon equivalent, all of his clothes. Not just him but almost all angels and demons miracle their clothes. Azirapale doesn’t and neither does Gabriel. That’s why he says his suits are tailored and funny enough he won’t be able to do if the earth got destroyed

It hurts but I’m glad that it didn’t end this way. The metatron is probably going to be a bigger threat than Gabriel, he is easier to fool and the metatron sounds more cunning. The stakes are high and season 2 is a bridge to season 3.

The best part about this is that Crowley can send to head office that he managed to thwart heaven's plans on stationing an angel on Earth.
Nevermind the fact that they would have been *replacing* another angel, instead of increasing the total number of angels. A lie of omission, which demons are good at.
