Why didn't the lawyer suggest petitioning the court to expedite the tests? The judge had ordered them as "emergency" treatment, which indicates that testing should be performed immediately. Too many social workers are all about ego and close their minds to other possibilities. The delay in testing was an obvious ploy to feed their egos because being right was more important than getting to the truth. However, I suspect they really weren't so sure. If they were so positive, they would gladly have the tests done asap. Social workers should be required to undergo intensive psychological analysis to reveal who they really are...before they are unleashed on the public. These two put the parents through hell for no good reason at all, destroying them and their families. Those social workers should have been thoroughly investigated and reprimanded for their despicable behavior.

Because Child Services is an entire industry of abusers themselves. They should be renamed 'We snatch happy kids from good parents and put them in the foster system'. The majority of the system is so f*cked up and they don't care whatsoever whose loves they ruin. And they never ever admit when they're wrong, and they're wrong a whole lot of the time. Social workers are garbage, but most foster parents are gold.

But just because [suing the social workers/ CPS] wouldn't bring back the parents or change the poor baby's diagnosis.... it COULD possibly prevent such a tragedy from occurring again by having such genetic tests rushed.

OMG! This has to be one of the worst or possibly worst stories I've heard Mr. Ballen tell. I've heard some terrible stuff, but this really hit me. I don't know these people, but I feel so bad for them and their families. This shouldn't have happened this way. Bad enough that baby had a death sentence, but the parents were done absolutely wrong. I've been falsely accused of child abuse and let me tell you, just like this story, these social workers/child protective don't give a damn about you or those they claim to be protecting. They don't listen, they are conniving, they don't do any due diligence no matter what evidence or thoughts you convey. It's a bunch of bull to put it lightly. This literally broke my heart. Just terrible. One thing I learned if you're ever accused of something like this. NEVER talk to anyone without a lawyer. Sad, but true. This story was the worst. I'm glad Mr. Ballen brings these stories to light, as tragic as they may be, so that these people can be remembered and thought of in this cruel world.

I've watched the interrogation of Tiffany. It's been awhile but it made an impression on me that has stuck. Detectives were coming at her hard. And she wouldn't back down regardless of what tactics they tried to use. They couldn't get one drop of doubt planted in her. And she wasn't meek or uncontrollably emotional, she was angry, you could hear it in her voice but she was calm and controlled. She knew her husband would never abuse their baby in a million years. And i had never heard of the case before or the outcome but her demeanor and behavior convinced me he was innocent.
After watching so many videos about parents repeatedly abusing their kids and dying because CPS failed to do their jobs, this really irritates the hell out of me. But I do think that the doctor should have been the one to ask for more tests in addition to his mandatory reporting obligations. 11 broken bones in the same part of the body without indication of injuries or abuse anywhere else, should have raised doubts about the cause.

I was a medical social worker in Pediatrics for 12-1/2 years. I had many cases in which a child experienced an injury. First of all, the social worker is dependent on rhe mefical staff to tell her if the injury fit the story. Any pending diagnostic studies needed to be considered before leaping to a conclusion of child abuse. My approach was to ask if the parent could possibly have forgotten anything. Being accusitory right off the bat is the worst way to elicit cooperation from the parents. Most of the time a parent will confess to dropping the baby. An innocent parent will respond positively to unconditional positive regard.

I've been around social workers for about 25 years. My parents have been foster parents for about this long. They can make or break a family. They take sides as well. Favoring mom or dad. Meanwhile foster parents see injustices and are rarely heard. Same goes for instances where social workers want to remove children from a home. Sometimes they are overzealous and jump to every conclusion. I understand they are acting on the behalf of the child. Their job is to move the child to a safe environment while a "just " investigation takes place. We were taught in foster care meetings and trainings that REUNIFICATION is the number one goal and priority for these children. Whithin reason of course😢

Don't let any government entity take your kids from you, they are more likely to suffer physical and sexual abuse in the foster system or from the government agencies themselves

Thank you John for your amazing stories. This is so sad! 😢 It's really too bad they couldn't just do the tests instead of assume. And for the grandparents, losing a daughter and then a granddaughter that close together and so young. Sad all around... 😟

So so sad! This should have never happened to the family. Obviously assuming they were child m****** was wrong! Before assuming such horrible things double check medically before. So sad I send my sympathy for this family xx 😭

My niece’s father used to pick her up and twist her around to face him, more than one time her shoulders would come out of joint, simple play can and does harm your children, you have to be so careful, this story is so sad.

This happens so often social workers are given too much authority over situations they have no knowledge over. It’s all based off of their opinion. It’s horrible!!!

Who says the SWs can't be the real abusers while the child is in transit? What about the foster parents who turn out to be abusers? This was totally avoidable. Even though the illness was terminal, they could have had other children without such debilitation. 👀

Sounds more like she told him she would divorce him, and he fights his life was over anyway, so he would punish her for divorcing before taking himself out, too. If that's the case, he was never a fit parent even without having perpetrated abuse before. Severe depression is one thing, but to take it out on another is a choice.
