I have a violin but i relate
Lol me too
I am an orchestra student, and they have never taught us how to do this, yet they ALWAYS do it when showing us how to play something. This is really going to help me during my violin career, thank you so much!
Thank you for this video! I have been struggling to do vibrato but now i understand it better!
Man mine sounds like a dolphine crying
make it a shivering dolphin and you are there! :)
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducationhow come your violin and bow didn't wiggle😬 or I think I'm doing something wrong
@@dice358 a quite firm violin hold and a soft left hand helps. Yet some pressure is needed so basically the hold it is.
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducationwhat is the title of this piece?
Wow this actually helped me a lot. Thanks!!
That helped me alot. Thanks❤
How can i stop my violin from moving when i try to do vibrato? My entire violin shakes 😫
Thank you
Thanks!
Rey chen explains this very well, try with no instrument and move your hand like you're bouncing a ball. It really changed things for me.
This helped so much
Thank you Mr Mustapha and Casablanca moroco.
I can't even try to do vibrato without moving the violin..
LITERALLY
It’s been 8th months so you might’ve figured it out, but I think a good upright/straight posture (with a good firm position from violin to chin and body as well) will help. The violin might still wiggle a little bit with vibrato but that’s normal (I think).
Me who does the vibrato without gap in the finger to the violin board but with curved fingers be like 👁👄👁 HOW DID I DO IT 👁👄👁
Thanks for your comment! As I say in the video: You can touch the neck, but the contact has to me subtle. Also it'spossible that you developed kind of a wrist or finger vibrato. But still it would be good to be loose at the index finger at the neck.
Thank you for this video ❤❤❤
Omg thanks I needed this as a 10 year
Old violin player
👍👍👍👍👍👍 thank you

Left my violin at school today but I will be following these instructions! Thank you!
How to Stop that thumb of mine from moving?and shaking of violin too
learn to control it slowly. Basically the thumb is the angle of the whole vibrato movement. I am working on a course about vibrato and sound control. I will keep your comment in mind!
Great, thanks
To do vibrato more easier, is pressing the string very fast. (I'm a beginner) 🙃
Yes, true, but it is kind of a fake vibrato. Some rock violinists use this technique, but in classical playing, the rolling movement is the way to go!
Thanks Simon for your lessons and tips! Just've discovered your channel today from TH-cam auto suggestion, I'm a beginner at playing violin but I have been learning and practicing classical guitar since 1998 so I have a rough idea about how to vibrato with left hand, however I find it really hard to incorporate right hand bowing into vibrato, like when my left hand shakes, my right hand also does the same motion. Could you please give me some advice on this?
Thank you🌎❤️
Good
The mosquito in the room be like 💀💀
Lol
Can you show how to do vibrato with pinky?
If i can do fingerstyle in my acoustic guitar can i do that?
Is this for wrist vilbrato or arm?
For a combined one (which most vibratos are in my opinion). My vibrato is more from the arm and less from the wrist, but wrist exercises like the second one I show in this video help me to implement more wrist in my vibrato.
What piece did he play at the end ?
I tried this but the violin and the bow were wiggling 😭 am i doing it wrong😭
I cant try to do vibrato without moving the bow 😭
I forgot the name of this song
What is name plz?
what song?
What about vibrating with your *forearm?* 😎
Can some please tell me the name of the song that he played at the end ? ❤
Do you already know? Can you say what is that song, please?
3 string violin 🗿 👍
Not me thinking I can to this on the first day of learning
What’s the title of this song?
In the end that is the beginning of Massenet "Meditation from Thais"
Bist du deutsch?
I can’t tell but is this wrist or arm vibrato?
My vibrato is a mixture. I have to work on wrist vibrato a lot, to make my vibrato more flexible. I always use a degree of arm motion. Which is ok in general as long as it doesn't interfer with the overall technique.
arm vibrator is easier for me than the arm vibrator.
i hear i need the arm vibrator.
what do you say?
Hand or wrist vibrato is actually in my opinion better, if you do it right. But usually it is always a little bit of arm movement involved. Try to get the best sound and work from there. YOur vibrato movement will always be a little different for example in very high positions anyways. So it can't hurt to develope both, arm and wrist/hand vibrato.
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation lol. sry for my mistake. i mean wrist is easier than arm.
my problem is, my right arm will tense when i want make vibrator.
love from turkey
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation (i play a left-hand violin)
Bro is german I can hear
I try to do vibrato and it’s hard and I hate that almost every song uses it also I had a hard time watching this video because (no offense this is just a little joke) I thought I saw a ghost (again no offense, I don’t want people to be mad at me)
