Great vantage points. I left London 15 years ago and now live in New Zealand. It amazes me, how much London is finally growing up. As a kid, the only buildings I remember was the Natwest Tower, The Post Office Tower, Centerpoint and the Barbican towers. Now there are towers everywhere.
Occupation lane is where I once watched the New Year’s Eve fireworks you could see the main London ones plus others from all over the city (parts you can see)
Moordown Street Residents are soo lucky because they have a view that offers beautiful views of the City, Financial and Central part of London with Trees in the front which gives it a scenic nature vibe
I used Google Earth to discover good views of London and by far Shooter Hill and Stave Hill impressed me because with the trees with the skyscraper cluster in the background make London look like a peaceful urban city
5:25 I've been to London once and I went to the excel center. Seeing it as a tiny little building in that view gives me a new perspective on the sheer size of london
Best view is from Severndroog Castle viewing platform . In Eltham south east London , close to the points you went to . Costs £3 and it is open on Sundays from 11:00 -16:00. Also check out for free the Greenwich Cemetery on well hall road , Eltham . Walk towards the monument of the heroes fallen in the wars and on the right hand side you will see hut( small house ) . That’s the best place to take a home shots .
Thanks, yes I visit Severndroog often, didn’t want to include it in this video as I’m planning a dedicated one for it. While the cementary I was just not comfortable vlogging at, maybe I’ll just mention it next time
Thanks Luke☺️ I do like keeping a balance between gear videos and just fun walks or explores of new areas type of videos, really testing out the waters, seeing what works while at the same time whats sort of content i find more fun to make 😀👍🏻
Thanks a lot Adam☺️🙏🏻yeah from all the way there, the weather has to be good to make the trip worth it, or no telephoto lens will make magic out of haze or grey band on the horizon 🤷🏼♂️
I lived as a boy until I was 20 in Condover Crescent No 2 beautiful View- and now I am in Romania. I remember trudging up Eglinton Hill. and if it was to hard I used to walk around Brent road , and pinch a ride on the double decker buses, I believe Routemaster- to the top Brent road and Condover Crescent
Another great viewpoint indeed! I went up Shooters Hill once with the running club, we run from the Olympic Park all the way to the top of the hill 😅🏃🏃♀️ Great video Michael 🙌
Very generous of you to take the abundance approach and share the love - Thank You. Also, you should check out the WhatThreeWords app. for pinpoint location accuracy. You can give a three word address to locate a point down to 3m x 3m square. Amazing !!!
Well, all I can say is congrats and well done, I’m sure living there with that view is and will be awesome, as well as an investment in a property with a view like that surely will only go up in value 👍🏻
Thanks for the great content - question if i may.. i’ve got a a tamron 70-210mm lens, would it work for shooting close skyline pics? Thanks and keep it up Sir!
Thanks, I’ve got a few places in the west on my list of video to do, just lately it’s been slightly more challenging to continue on with the series but tiers easing it will happen soon👍🏻
An excellent video and very well done. Pardon me if you already know this, but there's a great view of part of East London and Essex from Shrewsbury Park and it's possible to take pictures of London from the top of the Severndroog Castle in Oxleas Wood. That is, when we are Covid-free again.
@@LondonViewpoints I thought you would know these places. Thanks again for the video. I live in Ankerdine Crescent near where you shot your images of London.
@@LondonViewpoints I have lived here for a few years but I am still struck by the views from different points around here. Before the virus there was often polluted mist hanging over Canary Wharf that I could see from my garden. I wondered about whether people living and working under this were conscious of it. I also wondered like you do in your video about the unobstructed vews of vast swathes of London from the houses on Moordown, etc. I have seen and met several people wondering about here taking photos around Occuptation Lane, here and Moordown. All the best with your videos of London.
Bran Stark thanks a lot, yes that’s what I do and lately share in this series called “Best views in...” , but Shooters Hill is high up on my list of places I’d like to live one day at
You know there is a viewpoint in Shrewsbury Park, very near the Eaglesfield site you showed? It actually gives a part of East London in between the central areas and the South East vista you showed.
@@LondonViewpoints The Plum Lane car park entrance is the easiest way in, and there are great views from the north of the park. But the south of the park is considerably higher and you see further from there. There is a little used entrance via a short alley between the back of the houses and the corner of the golf course. I think it's in Mereworth Drive.
i love the view ...but some people in London still believe that skyscrapers are ugly and ruining the old building ..bla bla ..I don't know why .lol .. In my opinion skyscrapers are also beautiful . For example New York's Empire State and Chrysler building are amazingly beautiful.
Thanks and I agree with you, New York’s skyline is great, while London’s one is only growing but due to all the historic landmarks they have to plan it with more effort and they do👍🏻
@@LondonViewpoints @London Viewpoints 100% agree. Hope they can manage to built more skylines in London. Especially around South Bank area..if they could : )
Reminds me of the view of Manchester city centre from Chadderton / oldham border about 8miles north of The centre of the City. Not as many Skyscrapers as London but enough for you to know your in a big enough city. Also its on a gradual hill about the same height as these so you get a good view of the urban spread below and as far as you can see. The buildings are not same height as Londons Tallest like shard and lead better etc but got a few 150 to 200m then more just under. Londons got more of them aswell as the shard and a few more. Dont get me wrong Londons something else compared to Manchester. For a provincial European city though not many can compete with Manchesters skykline. Only, Paris, Moscow, Istanbul, Frankfurt and Warsaw are anything like Londons. Not many others in Europe as good as Manchesters and defo none in Uk. So you get that big city feel. About time cos apart from a few its only last few years theyve put any big city size buildings up. Plenty of nice architecture but didnt have a modern skyline for its size. Right thats my geeky rant done. Nice view.
I'd have rather seen the views of London than views of you. I don't mean that in an offensive way. I mean the video is about the views. All we need is to hear your voice while we look at the scenes. Thanks.
I think I offer more views that me, but a voiceover only video imho would be a bit bland and boring , imagine a travel docimentary only being based on stock footage and voiceover, not quite the same as someone actually taking you on a tour is it ?
As someone who uses 89 bus a lot, love this viewpoint every time!
I can imagine, each time I drive there I get the same
This is stunning Michael. You’ve given me some inspiration for my trip to london in may
Glad to hear it, I like MCR too and I do want to visit again soon
@@LondonViewpoints a great skyline view is werneth low!

Thanks, yes last 5 year especially seen growth that’s amazing for someone into skyscrapers and architecture, I love it but many don’t 🤷🏼♂️
@@LondonViewpoints I do love it, but at the same time I want historical buildings protected. I like a mix of ultra modern and old.

Yes the residents normally all watch it from there!
Moordown Street Residents are soo lucky because they have a view that offers beautiful views of the City, Financial and Central part of London with Trees in the front which gives it a scenic nature vibe
That’s true, Moordown is a lovely street
I used Google Earth to discover good views of London and by far Shooter Hill and Stave Hill impressed me because with the trees with the skyscraper cluster in the background make London look like a peaceful urban city
London has plenty of green spaces yes, compared to other big capital cities it is indeed peaceful I think
Love shooters hill you can see a view of Central London and in the opposite direction a view of the rest of south east London
Thank you. Hopefully I will be visiting Bexley in the next month or two. I must take a trip to Shooter's Hill.
You will love shooters hill, bring your longest telephoto 👍🏻

First experience of london as an Exchange student, i stayed at Moordown, having the London Eye as a view. Pretty great memory 👌🏻
Sounds like a great experience 👍🏻

Does anyone know if you can see the news years eve fireworks from the top of shooters Hill?
I reckon any year would be great, as long as the wind isn’t directly east as after the first few minutes you’d be covered in a cloud and see nothing
Great video. When the hell did London get so tall like New York?
Thanks, in the last 10 years, but still nowhere near as high as NY as we have an airport in the city so height restrictions cap the max height
The skyscraper cluster is looking great tho. I hope they keep building.
