    Just ordered that Ming camera but it’s black with metal plating instead of leather😳 I’m excited

    Great review, thank you. If possible, would you explain the difference between the Ming edition and camera you reviewed?

    • @FIGITALREVOLUTION
      @FIGITALREVOLUTION  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Ming has all the advanced features but the one I reviewed also has the built in battery for the option of iType film as well.

    Nice review !! How does it handle fill in flash with either a vintage flash bar or the Mint 2 flash? Let's say you don't plug in the time machine, but instead plug in the Mint 2 flash or a vintage flash bar, does the shutter default to F/8? Does the cam follower still adjust the aperture based on how close or far away you're focused, so that you end up with a correctly exposed flash photograph? I think Mint needs to come up with new Flash Bar that has a sensor on that can control the output based on distance.

    Have you tried using it with a dead 600/sx70 film? Will it work since it has a built in battery? Have a bunch of expired film that seem to have dead batteries I’m hoping I can still use.

  • @th1649

    Does the camera function with 600 film, even if the cameras batteries aren't charged?

    • @FIGITALREVOLUTION
      @FIGITALREVOLUTION  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, unlike the Polaroid i2 Camera the new MiNT with the battery uses both methods and their battery has about double the life so around 30 packs of iType film and the benefit of using 600 or SX70 if needed.

  • @Ni5ei
    @Ni5ei 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    But if I understand correctly, using SX-70 film is only possible in manual mode?

    • @FIGITALREVOLUTION
      @FIGITALREVOLUTION  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is an auto sx70 and auto 600 on newer models and of course always manual exposure control with the Time Machine.

    Just got mine a few days ago, love it! I noticed that your Time Machine bar has flash ports on the side, mine doesn’t, is it also coming from the fact that you let Mint mod an existing SLR670?

    • @FIGITALREVOLUTION
      @FIGITALREVOLUTION  ปีที่แล้ว

      Is yours a model that has a Time Machine with the flash port- not all models have that option- my older one did not but as this upgrade makes it the most current model it does--

    • @gm.m
      @gm.m ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FIGITALREVOLUTION no I don’t have the flash port. This Time Machine came with my new I Type SLR670.

      @@FIGITALREVOLUTION I see , nice ! Also i want to ask when you insert your itype film do you have to insert a dark slide underneath? Because i also have a mint slr670 itype camera and every time I use itype film, I need to put a dark slide underneath or else it won’t eject and I think the reason is because itype cassettes are a bit thinner compared to 600s. (When I put in 600 films it won’t completely fine) was wondering if you at experiencing the same problem 🙏

    • @FIGITALREVOLUTION
      @FIGITALREVOLUTION  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No mine is fine but I do find the iType take a bit more of a push to fit in properly and are a bit harder to pull out the empty cassette

    • @WhoIsSerafin
      @WhoIsSerafin ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks nice but when the battery goes in a few years, what a pain to send it back. I think I prefer the attachable power-pack by retrospect. That way you can change the batteries.

  • @SilntObsvr

    That's extremely cool, but I'll probably never own one, for the same reason I'll never own a Hasselblad: it's worth more than my car. In fact, I'll probably never have a "regular" SLR 670 or SLR 680 of any flavor, for the same reason.
    Now, I completely understand the costs behind finding good-condition Alpha 1 cameras, replacing the circuit boards, cleaning them up like new, and in this case retrofitting for the Li-ion battery -- but still, I've got about the same money into my entire RB67 outfit (three viewfinders, five lenses, macro tubes and 2x teleconverter, three Mamiya film backs and four Graflex) as it would cost to buy this -- and for another few hundred dollars I can get an Instax Square back for the RB and have *much more* manual control than this.

    • @FIGITALREVOLUTION
      @FIGITALREVOLUTION  ปีที่แล้ว

      The $$ you have into the RB67 system is a steal and you should be very happy with your investment. However they are very different beasts with very different working methods. Yes you could do a lot with the Mamiya but it won’t fit in a jacket pocket. An regarding more manual control- it would not really be necessary due to the limitations of latitude with the Polaroid material. This is as I mentioned for a shooter who is dedicated to Polaroid material and wants lots of options within that material- your system is bigger and broader than that and if you are only working with instant material would be more than one would need. All cameras are just tools -

    • @ilmago5291
      @ilmago5291 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mamiya rb 67 is a bulky heavy delicate camera and needed back that make other bulk and heavy problems

    • @SilntObsvr
      @SilntObsvr ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ilmago5291 Bulky and heavy, no doubt. Delicate, not in my experience. And FAR more versatile than these similar-age Polaroid SLRs. You pay your money, you take your choice. Mine was to get a camera that will do more than one thing, and do them all well.

    • @GonzoTheRosarian

      You can! I emailed them and they said it would be $200 (American) to add the battery to slr670s cameras.
