I had a yonaka cat back on a 2000 CRV, and LOVED that thing. One of the best sounding rear ends available for Hondas. And the airy rpm drop is very satisfying in person, never quite depicted correctly on video.
That transition was CRISP

It’s not the boxer engine that makes it sound like that, it’s just the headers, Subaru uses UEL headers on some cars which makes them sound like this. Any 4 cylinder on the planet would sound like that if you put UEL headers on it.

@@noahtoombs9351 I think you will find a boxer 4 makes a different sound to an inline 4, a NA subaru engine with EL headers still sounds very different to a fart can civic exhaust

I had a yonaka catback on my 98 ek with b18b1 swap and I loved it. No rasp at all and quiet at idle but throaty at WOT. It was apexi ws2 sound for 1/3 the price

@Kokonutfreaks this is definitely sounds much better with UEL headers on inline-4’s.
So few questions about it.
1: how much would this cost for a custom made UEL headers?
2: I heard that if u put UEL headers on inline-4, u can loose around 4 hp? Which it’s not a lot.
3: does the UEL header remains unharmed to the engine from time to time? Let’s daily.
And 4: why does it sound so good, so good that it’s makes it sound unique?
I ask this because I am still hooked that I would definitely considered, gettin a UEL headers for my 2015 lifted Scion xB, with TRD dual side exhaust version. With intake manifold and K&N or TRD short air intake systems this will sound beautiful.
The sound of a car comes from vibrations, and the specific tone is caused by the vibrations merging with eachother where the header collects. If the header is equal length, the sound will be smoother and higher pitched because the exhaust pulses will merge nicely. However UEL headers are, as the name implies, unequal length. This implies that some of the exhaust pulses will "bump into" one another and cause a deeper rumbly tone.

I got the 1320 4-1 header and I always get compliments from people, funniest one was my parents next door neighbor. He asked if it had a v8 in it cause the rumble at idle was deep and low 🤣

@@tofuracer1299 it sounds great but doesn’t sound like a Subaru. I guess it’s all preference, I know having the UEL would be a head turner haha a lot of people don’t realize it’s the uel header that gives a Subaru the “subie rumble”. I think I paid $250 for my header not sure how much the Uel version is. Definitely will buy the same header for a future all motor build, most likely h2b.

hey man, I'm curious about what the length ratio you used is, I am planning to build a turbo manifold for my b230ft motor, and really intrigued to do the same. I believe my motor has a similar firing order to yours.

I have this header and just installed recently with test pipe to muffler I have a hissing sound underneath the car but can't find any exhaust leaks anyone else have this issue?

@@andrewvelasco4911 yeh. Ebays youre next bet if they dont/wont make em. But they arent carb legal. Probably the best shop in town/only in town for hondas and acuras with actual performance parts ranging from suspension to comestics to turbos and engines. A real big player in the 916 honda scene.

really like this step-up because just got myself a Yonaka catback for my 95 honda civic ex. The sound wasn't that loud. felt like I needed something to make a bit louder for me

UEL Headers are what give a Subaru their iconic Brumble sound.
@@darkblaze176 you can tell that when you listen to something like a wrx or wrx sti same thing but compare that to like a legacy and it just doesn’t have that iconic Subaru sound it threw me off listening to this at first because I thought they had swapped a boxer into it until I rewind the video

Yea it’s auto
Tip: when auto shifts, it shifts slightly faster than manual transmission. Manual transmission is a fraction of a second slower when you compare it you'll notice right away.
1:48 and 1:58 auto shifts.
@@DepthSeek it's all about preference, I prefer manual because its more reliable and cheaper to fix and saves a little more gas.
Most people in that are into tuning cars do it because it's just simple and driving experience is more enjoyable.

*For drag races, auto if you want short times.
If you want to save extra cash I recommend a manual transmission.
PayN0-M1nd autos are everywhere literally so hard to find clean manuals but a clean automatic is around every corner

Cam Pixton his car sounds like that because he made his headers unequal lengths, so two pipes are expelling gas quicker than the other two which makes the exhaust note oscillate between two pitches, dumb thing to do to a NA Honda but anyway.
A lot of Subaru WRXs come Factory with Unequal length headers and it’s a sound Subaru’s are known for hence why OP made that joke.
