I don't see any justification to hold this young man up for public ridicule. It seems clear to me that this young man is very brave and open minded within the scope of his faith and living in a community that suppresses open discussion about sex. I believe that the young man is using a very rational approach to understanding vague rules in the modern world. I applaud his courage in talking about this subject and for expressing ideas that endanger his social standing in his community.

Morality = Well Being. Masturbation is healthy for you. Therefore, it is moral. Sin is a man made construct that serves no purpose. People should realise that this is a natural part of life. If you have someone else in your life, probably best to ask them about it and what they think and come to a conclusion based on that.
