    Vielen herzlichen Dank für dieses KLASSE VIDEO! Ich habe schon einige Erfahrungen mit dieser Thematik gemacht. Aber ich stelle immer wieder fest, man lernt nie aus 🙂.
    Bringt mich definitiv weiter...

    I’ve been using Metashape for a while now and it is very good for 3d work.

    This is such a great and very thorough tutorial!! Thank you! Diving in I was going with Reality Capture but, from this video, I thought to try meshroom because..as you said..free!
    Soon thereafter I switched back to Reality Capture and just bit the bullet on a few 20us packages. I find RC much better interface and a lot more user friendly.
    (Sorry for long comment)
    I perhaps was a little to anxious to get going on a second attempt of scanning a small building and just wanted to get it into UE5 to play with it.. The model does need at least one..if not 2 or 3 more visits to complete a much better quality scan but I certainly figured I had enough to work with in order to ...well.. bring something to life in hopes Id inspire myself to go deeper. I have been able to follow most of your steps to get into blender but it keeps crashing if i go into edit mode or try to decrease the ratio as you've shown. My model is about 4X the vertices so I know Im going wrong somewhere...
    Im hoping the system I got recently is more than enough to handle any of this sort of work for it was the best I could find at the time at (well beyond) the budget I had so if not.. I'll crawl into a little ball in the closest corner and cry for a while)
    12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900H Processor 2.5 GHz (24M Cache, up to 5.0 GHz, 14 cores: 6 P-cores and 8 E-cores) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU
    ROG Boost: 1445MHz at 150W (1395MHz Boost Clock+50MHz OC, 125W+25W Dynamic Boost)
    16GB GDDR6 (ROG Strix SCAR 17 (2022) G733 G733ZX-LL106X)
    Any thoughts?

      If you get to much vertices in RC you shoud decimate in RC before. I get best results with one day shootings. I use 32GM RAM at minimum on my computers. Start with smaller shootings and limit your space after the image alignement at a minimum.

    How can you check if the model is vertically aligned correctly in Reality Capture? If you don't use control points is there a way to make sure that the model is vertical (meaning the walls of the building are aligned to the actual vertical axes and don't have an angle)?

    • @KilianEisenegger
      @KilianEisenegger  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      We cannot be sure that the model is perfectly vertical. It is better to post process the alignment in blender

    Amazing video Kilian, thank you very very much. Helped me a lot to get kind of familiar with the topic.
    One question: is there a tool to present the 3d files online? Like the Agisoft viewer does local for example. I think Agisoft has a system to show and edit online as well but only for pro users.

    @kilian do you know if Reality Capture can use the gps coordinates of the images to measure dimensions e.g. angles, length, etc?
    I know that Metashape can do so but I am not familiar with Reality Capture.

    • @KilianEisenegger
      @KilianEisenegger  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can add that in the settings. But for me it doesn't improve the final result.

    great tutorial, thank you. any chance to make something similar for 3d printing?

    • @KilianEisenegger
      @KilianEisenegger  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess for 3D printing there are similar videos on youtube.

    • @izoyt
      @izoyt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KilianEisenegger maybe i should be more specific: i was refereeing to preparing photogrammetry 3d object for 3d printing etc. so, not so much about printing, but more optimising 3d file.

      @@izoyt I will produce more blender tutorials as I showed only 0.1% of its capability. Stay tuned.

    Unfortunately, RealityCapture is not available for the Mac! What a pity! And to be honest, Metashape is too expensive for me! Pity!

    • @KilianEisenegger
      @KilianEisenegger  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Metashape exist in 2 versions. The standard version is not expensive compared to the output.

    Is Intelligent hdrpano 3D shooting not available anymore? Its not coming up? Also do these apps work for mavic 2 pro?

    • @KilianEisenegger
      @KilianEisenegger  ปีที่แล้ว

      hdrpano 3D is still on iOS and was updated some days ago. It works with mavic 2 pro. Use iOS 14 at last.

    How to georefrense the pictures?

  • @Askaly
    @Askaly 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dont say Realitycapture is free. It is free to download but of no use when you have to pay to export.

    • @Karol.M
      @Karol.M 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Free to Dowland, pay to export. Just watch and think logically 👍

    • @Askaly
      @Askaly 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats my whole point. Free to download, oh well. What am I gonna do with a 3D model inside the software? Look at it fron different angles? Without exporting its useless, so this is *not free*.

    • @KilianEisenegger
      @KilianEisenegger  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is not free. But for beginners it is a start to test if the capturing works. If you will export you can start with a few dollars. Professional Photogrammetry software is about 3500 dollars. Before you invest this amount it is better to test if your computer can do it and if your images works. That was my idea to say it is free to test. But you are right I will explain it better the next time.
