Paul, your dedication to your half marathon training in the sweltering North Carolina heat is truly inspiring. Despite the challenging conditions and occasional setbacks, you consistently push yourself to achieve your goals. Keep up the hard work, and I have no doubt you'll achieve your target time in the upcoming race!
Hey Paul! I've been away for awhile -back for some DevRunner inspiration!! So glad NC weather is becoming much more runner-friendly!! Great pace Paul! No sunglasses!! Your long runs are so impressive Paul!! Keep up the amazing work!!
Its the dedication Paul, you are always doing amazing things there even on that heat! Great track here, it was a motivation for me to have some good run! Thanks for sharing this with us, wishing you great with your race! ❤
The nutrition is always the hardest part! Way to crush that long run! And did I hear some Cream playing for that track workout? You’re killing it, Paul! Great work! 🤓
DevRunner, I totally enjoyed the track work and that great 20 mile progression long run. Wishing you the best with your weight management and your nagging Achilles injury!
Good job with the week Paul. I too used my headtorch for the 1st time in ages recently, I forgot to charge it though & I might as well have lit a match for all the light it gave off 😂 I like the sound of the 4 mile chunks & speed progression, you did well especially with dropping the gel 👍
When you're literally dying to check your splits, you'll know you've taken things a bit too far! 😅 Great training week again, Paul. Keep pushing 👍🏻💪🏃♂️
You know you're a runner when you're wanting to check your splits in heavy traffic lol. Both an awesome volume and quality week, Paul. Watch that Achilles, I'm also feeling a little heel (PF) pain from all of the technical trail running.
Really good week of training Paul, looks like the 20 mile long run went great, with one jel less would of been tough, I thought something looked different then you said forgot the sunglasses haha, keep up the good work, keep on pushing 😮🏃🏽♂️👏👊🏼🪂😀🍀🌲✅
Wonderful work outs Paul. It’s very interesting how we runners have difficulty loosing the weight we want to loose. Curious have you ever looked into wearing a CGM (continuous glucose monitor)? It would be really interesting what your blood sugar does especially on a long run. I’ve heard it also helps manage weight.
Inspiring as always, Paul! I wonder if you do Dexa scans, or how you track body composition.. I'm sure you're on top of this, but I wonder if the higher weight is partly because of added muscle lately? Anyway, good luck with next week's schedule!
Hey Paul, great video. What a conundrum. You have to fuel your body to get through the additional, intense training but you need to cut weight. Which priority to focus on? As a mom, I always lean towards the fuel. 😊
When it’s dark, I hope you wear reflective gear or a light! I can’t imagine getting out of bed pre-dawn, let alone RUNNING at that hour. Do the miles you run to warm up and cool down count toward your total 70 miles for the week?

You are such a beast
Great week!! Low 60's, even with humidity that sounds wonderful.

Always amazed at your discipline and dedication. Cool temps are on the way. Take care of that heel! 💯💥🏃
Great UP week. Very glad you made it through the traffic in the dark. Good stuff.❤

For me 1 extra pound I carry is about 1 second per mile. May not seem like much but a few pounds over a course of a marathon adds up quick.
I am a bit behind. You are still going strong.

Pitch dark! Careful

Great job. 70 miles is a lit of running. Any suggestion for knee pain after a few miles of a good slow pace?

It's not just the amount of running you do that is admirable, but having to do so much of it on dangerous or mentally tedious routes.
