    I'm just struggling to understand why people want to marry but then divorce a few years later because it didn't work out?
    If marriage is about showing society you are committed and love one another then why is the divorce rate so high?
    Being in a long term defacto relationship with my partner of 12 years is equivalent to being "married" without the wedding expense and certificate. We don't love eachother any less because we are not married and we are 100% committed to one another which is shown by our loyalty, trust and devotion to each other. Being married shouldn't change any of that.

Yes we don’t know how much money she has in the bank but she obviously has a different view about money that is different from her fiancé. Enough to know that if she marries this person not only would she struggle needlessly but might be worse off the she is now. She doesn’t want to marry him, she just wants someone to co sign her decision.

      @chukuemekaoje1015 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Vickie is right. You totally skipped the anger issues.
      But to address the "not good with money" part, it can be a perfectly valid reason not to marry someone. For example: if one person budgets as a habit and the other one refuses to budget in any way, shape, or form... totally legit reason for the former not to want to marry the latter. They have completely different views on money (and money fights is one of the major causes of divorce).
      Sure, some might be better than others with money, if both people in a relationship handle money very differently, it's gonna cause friction somewhere in the relationship, and then when you add marriage to the equation, it can get worse.
      You're gonna have to make a LOT of joint financial decisions in marriage (it's inherent to the idea of marriage) and handling money very differently is gonna present challenges when it comes time to make that decision, even with separate finances.
      And never did they hosts say that the other person is a bad person for not being able to handle money well, it just means that financially... they aren't compatible.

  • @Lasaro7499
