The kits with all these tools are super cheap. Just follow the steps to unscrew and unplug. This looks a little more involved than most phone batteries but nothing too crazy. Good video!
What prevents me from attempting such repairs for myself are not any security screws or warranty stickers......But dismantling videos purporting to help you to do that. 😂 Best preventative ever 👍🏻
One of the things that I’ve always been fearful of since having my Q3 is finding somebody that can repair it. Now I know who to call if anything happens to it. I just hope it doesn’t cost as much as a new one or even close to it because if so, then I’ll just buy a new one because I love VR.
Could be any time. We had a surplus of batteries and it’ll end once we get down to a certain number of units. Not sure what those numbers are off hand.
Yo dude I have a elite head strap with a battery pack and when I'm charging the light shows green and when I put on the headset it says 100%, then I unplug it and it's something like 5% 2% 10%. It's just I don't know how to fix it. Any tips? Oh and when I'm playing the battery pack isn't charging the headset but it says it's at 100%, but it's just dying
Sounds like a bad battery to me. There is a method to test the battery health but not without taking the headset apart. I am hoping to make a video detailing the process soon.
@@fixmyoculusMy dad is very good with tech but whenever I say well this is broken. He's like well. It doesn't need to be replaced so I'm super stuck here
my sensor latch just broke on the headset recently and hasn't been able to power on with a led light, is there a reason the latch is crucial for the component?
i love how i watched this thinking i could do this

Haha. I just like to put the information out there. I’d go out of business if it was easy.
@@fixmyoculus Yup, indeed. Better than any anti-tamper mechanisms I could think of.
Cunning plan :)
It was around the part. He was unhooking the speaker cables that I said fuck this.

great job on this video
Thank you.
Thanks
Do you have any info on replacing the Extended Battery too?
For the heatsink, is there thermalpaste that needs to be replaced or added?
No. The thermal paste for these things is more like a putty. It’ll stay in place and work perfectly fine after the repair.
This makes that $60 to just send it in and get it replaced look real good. Great video
So I have a question about the cooling fan if the fan is dirty or dusty can you just clean it and it will be fine or will I have to replace it
Usually you can just clean it.
How long are you running the $60 promotion for the battery replacent? Is it something i can wait on or should i get on it now?
Could be any time. We had a surplus of batteries and it’ll end once we get down to a certain number of units. Not sure what those numbers are off hand.
Is battery life connected to how old a device is or if you let the device run out of battery to much
where to buy the battery ??

Son just called me asking can I do this lol.
Follow up ... I sure did not fix it ! Lol
I’d be happy to help if you want to send it.
Nothing like original quest 2 speakers ❤❤
What could be the issue if when I plug in my quest and it kinda trips the charger off like it has a power bridge inside
How do I fix the sun damage on my oculus 3
I would like to know how much a complete battery replacement would be?
We have the price on our website but it’s about $60.
Even with the repair?

What does it mean when it won’t charge and it is flashing a red light? It flashes red for a bit and then nothing
Not me watching this while knowing I don't even have a q2

Without the latch the cable isn’t actually seated or connecting the contact points.
Okayyyy thats too much work imma just buy a strap with a battery pack
No way that I can fix it on my own😅
First
"Unless you wanna play plugged in all the time..."
Wait, so we CAN still play off the wall? Is this confirmed?
