Love the sound of the idle on that big bird even more than the thrum of the engine singing in flight. My uncle flew a Vought F4U over the South Pacific while Dad was being shot down (after a handful of good bombing runs in Germany) in his B-25 Mitchell over France. The Russians rolled over the wires in his Stalag and freed them all, so he made it back. Fond and sad memories, as both are gone now.
How nice to be completely free of inane commentary, even mor inane music, and extraneous noise from other aircraft or things on the ground. Also nice to see full loops, rather than Immelmann turns like display pilots in the US invariably seem to do. Particularly pleasing formation loop with the P-38.
Glad you like it. This was i a huge airshow with ~130000 visotors per day, so it wasn't easy to get a proper filming spot and also getting rid of all the background noise.
Agreed. Too many "announcers" of these events love the sound of their own voices. Let the paying customers enjoy the audio spectacle as well as the visual.
Well thats debatible. The F4U Corsair was a phenomenal plane, no doubt, but it shot down 1 single Mig-15. You can't really say it was downing Migs in the Korean War. Plenty of other piston planes shot down jets. Including the P-47, which not only shot down Me-262s, but also downed at least one Mig-15 in the First Taiwanese Strait Crisis. The Sea Fury also shot down a Mig-15. The Corsair was an excellent plane but there are many contenders for that title.
Finally, after waiting since I was a kid, I finally got to see a F4U Corsair not only fly but take pictures up close. I can now die a happy man! Took my kids to the Warhawk Air Museum Air Show in Nampa, ID last weekend where we saw three P-40 Warhawk's, three different P-51 Mustangs (including the Boise Bee), a P-38 Lightning, a B-25 Mitchell, some T-6's and torpedo bombers and of course the F4U Corsair. So glad I took my kids there to hear the 1940's music and watch these warbirds fly right over us.
Good stuff there . 2400 horsepower absolutely incredible. Second world war fighter planes the epitome of the piston driven engine. love those p-38s too.
@@PaddyPatrone I have to admit that formation flying doesn't usually float my boat. Seems restrictive/not free and all has to be smooth and drawn out/not impulsive.
I'm guessing because they're such old birds they have a 250 mph limit to save the frame? It's _that_ why I've yet to see a video where you can actually _hear_ the iconic "whistling death" sound from the wing ducts? 😕
I’d say my great grandfather heard quite a few of these he was with the 5th regiment 1st marine division peleliu and Okinawa 60MM mortars and went to China afterwards I don’t know how he didn’t even get a scratch
O also learned about this plane watching Baa Baa Black Sheep. Good to know that the engine sounds used in the show were authentic. Sounds incredible. Wish I could have heard the formations heavy Bombers flying over !!
Always admired the way American naval aircraft simply say NAVY on the side. Not US Navy. Just NAVY. Like, if you have to ask, yeah, it's that Navy. The best Navy in the world. The only Navy that really matters.
Wunderschöne Maschine der Junkers/Focke Kopiemix 👌🏻 Optisch in meinen Augen allerdings perfekt und der Sound ist auch gewaltig 👌🏻 Wahnsinnig schönes Flugzeug 🙏🏻
I seen a corsair and mig15 at a local airshow back 02ish both aircraft were hot rods. Tower allowed them to fly around 100 feet above the tarmac on their passes . The cone from the mig exhaust was impressive , what stayed with me though and I swear when the F4 did its pass the engine noise was behind the engine. Like 2/3rds of the airframe behind.
What a wonderful sound. A lovely aircraft you can see why the Japanese hated it Low level bombing, rocket firing or machine gunning positions. A wonderful display Thank you. Happy New Year.😀
Without question one of the most intimidating-looking planes ever made...and that’s before the pilot fires up that powerful Double Wasp engine. Coming out of that one dive, I half-expected to see muzzle flashes from the six machine guns.
I fell in love with the Corsair, like many boys in the 70s, while watching Robert Conrad in "Bas Baa Black Sheep"
You need to watch Devotion from 2022 if you haven't seen it - pure F4U heaven.
Yep me too. 😎👍
How could you edit it and still misspell “Baa Baa Black Shepp”
The Corsair, Mustang and Spitfire are top 3 of my most favorite WW2 planes ever!
My late Dad flew an F4U during WWII.. He was a member of the VBF-1 bomber/fighter squadron based on the USS Bennington (CV-20)
This sound never gets old!😊

Love those radial engines. They just lumber along churning out power without seeming to over stressed.
Great job on the video. Beautiful Aircraft !! Loved seeing it fly w/the P-38.

Likely the most beautiful duo there is.
Thank you for keeping the video free or all other sounds.
The best piston engine fighter of all time, bar none. The Corsair was shooting down Mig's in Korea.
P51 makes that pitiful looking plane …well pitiful
@@danimojoe8563 Im also a P-51 person, but the Corsair is also pretty cool

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh the p-51, spitfire, bf 109, and even the fw-190 will surpass it in a lot of areas, maneuverability is a big one
@@theace1602 None of those other planes survived WWII as a frontline combatant for a major power, the F-4U Corsair did exactly that. Explain that one.
Excellent cinematography and Pure sound!!!
Love the sound of a radial engine, you can always pick it , if you know what you are listening for ...
Great show. Liked the full loops by 2 really different birds. Pilots' formation flying was superb. Videography was also superb. thanks..
Thanks
My grandfather was a mechanic in the army air corps he loved the f4u but his true love was the p47 he called the flying tank
Nice, I also made a P47 video

love those p-38s too.
4:49 absolute euphoria to watch those two in formation.
2 dissimilar aircraft performing that technical roll over was very impressive! I've never seen that before! "Still Subscribed"
I have more footage from the Flyingbulls warbirds formation flights. Somehow most people are not interested in that.
@@PaddyPatrone I have to admit that formation flying doesn't usually float my boat. Seems restrictive/not free and all has to be smooth and drawn out/not impulsive.
Merci ! Le son émis par le Corsair n'est pas un bruit mais une symphonie !
Nice to see this ol’ girl still groovin’
EXCELLENT follow and sound!!!
such a sweet sound to the ears and an awesome sight.
The hot rod fighter plane from World War 2.
What a freaking beauty🇺🇸⚙️🇺🇸⚙️🇺🇸⚙️
I love that redbull Corsair. The nose art is tasteful and doesn’t feel out of place.
Great performance. I think he's way past the 250m.p.h. limit on this one. No music & complete maneuvers. Thanks for posting it.

my favorite ww2 plane
What a magnificent aircraft!
The P-38 stole the show for me. Crazy for that bird.

The sound of the Corsair to the airplane is like the flathead V8 is to the automobile!

A lethal aerial hot rod with a throaty voice
The hill wings and that horse power are tough to beat!! Great plane!
The Zero was finished when these two came upon the scene.
Nothing quite like the whistling death.

I uploaded a new Corsair F4U-5NL video just a few days ago.
I love the sound of it! 👍
Красиввя машина, видел именно этот Корсар в Москве в 2012 году, а теперь его модель стоит на полке, с 7 еще Корсарами других модификаций!
It's special to see me two American faves, Lightning and Corsair together
\(°o°)/! ❤️❤️🥇🏆
мощь очень впечатляет, великолепная инженерная работа и формы настоящего искусства полета
I was the only kid i knew that fkn loved this plane way more than spitfires or mustangs 😅
Long live the flying W. My fave ol' plane.
Wow what an awesome airplane
Going to see hopefully two fly at the Reading PA WW2 Weekend show.
Marvel's stuff 😊👍.
Beautiful plane!!! ❤ 👍
To hear it "whistle" you need to be in front of this most badass prop plane of all time as it is coming in for a strafe/bombing run.
Dependable Pratt & Whitney engines!
le son est parfait
c est mon avion préféré ,j adore et j aime beaucoup cet avion
Beautiful ❤️
a n amazing display! !!!
Beautiful P38 and the Corsair! Partners in the Pacific, to think the European theater didn’t like the P38?!

What a super aircraft from ww2
cela c est un trés bon avion incomparable et trés maniable rapide en plus moteur merlin
@war thunder need this sound in game
c est que du bonheur
My father flew these.
Great video! Too bad Wargaming nerfed the Corsair so much in World of Warplanes.
Not a big fan of all the smoke, but it's an eargasmic video for sure.
👍
Lol , monster bro
Nothing sounds as good as a big radial. NOTHING!!!
And these guys are paid to do this.
DieF4U Corsair hat keine Change gegen die Fw 190 D9
oder der Ta152. Selbst die Me 109 K4 war der Corsar überlegen.
moteur Merlin
LOVE THAT P&W R28
