Hi shane. i'm new to apple ecosystem and already have a se wiser hub setup for controlling my lights and fans. how to find if its possible to add my schneider wiser hub to homebridge
Here's what I don't understand. At the end you showed an example of how you can now turn a light on and off after the integration. How did you turn that light on and off prior to using Homebridge? I'll give you the example I would like to enable. I have a garage door opener that uses MyQ. I can open and close the garage door with the MyQ app via Bluetooth on my iPhone. In other words, my iPhone is making the garage door go up and down via a Bluetooth command triggered by the MyQ app. MyQ integrates into HomeKit via Homebridge. So let's say I've successfully added MyQ to Homebridge. I press the HomeKit button. Does HomeKit control the MyQ app instead of my finger on the MyQ button?
It translates the API calls from what I can tell. I used to use the Kasa app to control the lights but now that it's in Homekit I rarely need to actually open the Kasa app. You'll probably still need to keep MyQ installed as Homekit only works locally and doesn't give you full access to settings. It's just another way to control smart home devices if you have Apple automations set up or want everything in one app.
@@ShaneAJM I think that is pretty heavy lifting on HomeKit's side. I wonder if there is a library of API calls that a HomeKit-compliant device has to use. "Open", "close", "current state", etc. are probably pretty standard across products. I guess that's why HomeKit can't be as functionally rich for, say, a garage door accessory than the native app. I suppose that Matter will have a similar concept except it will be "universal" vs. platform-by-platform specifications.
Im here from McSkillets video, glad to see your alive
Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Amazing!! Thank you. Finally works
Wow! Super video, trying this later! Hope it works :)

That should work! You’ll just need to adjust any routines or schedules for your new plugs.
How much storage do you recommend for the raspberry pi?
What if u have a bulb which doesn’t show up in plugins?

You can search inside the Homebridge app or if you search on npmjs (dot) com you can see there too.
Did you figure this out? Im having the same problem
It's possible to install smartthings device in homebridge?
Yeah you should be able to! I found a homebridge-smartthings plugin on npm.
@@ShaneAJM ok I found it. but i can't set it up
