While packing to PSARC file you need to edit the filename.txt without slash. Because it wont save your mod for some cases. Keep it as like shown in the video 12:58
The debug menu in Noesis is very important since it tells you the compression format of the sps file that you're trying to edit, and some of the texture files use BC1 but intel texture plugin does not support that. Find this out the hard way wasting so much time trying to mod katanas. You gotta remake your video.
So how do you fixed that? I trining to make thief mask retexture, but when I change its headers from dds to sps it shows the texture wrong in noesis, I tried many ways, but I presume the issue is the one which you describe (I am pretty sure, I replacing headers correctly, there are some mod on nexus already which also retextures same mask into other colors and I used that as example) upd: just verified, so yeah, the texture which I trying to recolor is BC1_UNORM_SRGB format
@@sim667lz3 I figure out, so if you see texture copmression starts with BC1_ chooose "Color" on dds save, if BC3, choose "Color + Alpha". For other compression cant say, so you have to test by yourself. You should have the same size on original and dds file, then you did it right

tutorial is straighforward but ive seem to be having a roadblock party and Im not invited. Renaming the dds files to sps for some reason doesn't work for me. I see on your end, the entire filename includes the extension name. On my pc, when I try to rename, it only captures the name without the file extension added to it. So ive tried 123.dds.sps or 123.sps, neither of which changes the actual DDS file to sps. Whats going on?
@@akiman712 but this is outdated tutorial. You don't need a dds file. Just extract the textures as png and the noesis support sps injection. So when injecting it will convert to sps. For more details just DM on discord

Actually there is a work around method to download the model from google (playstation extracted model - with all outfits) I am using this to edit the textures.
try to export as PNG. Then edit in gimp. Also by using noesis tool you can inject the texture to sps file. Once done go to noesis tool by selecting the modified png and then click export preview and select SPS format. Then choose the original sps file and then click ok. Thats it...
Hey, I couldn't get it to work for any texture. Whenever I feel like I find a pattern, it still fails. Also, using "Paste Insert" like you do tells me that it will affect the file size and it goes up to 1mb for a 170kb file. Do you have any idea what might be the issue?

for some reason when i repack the folder using GOTextractor, after i select the mods folder with the filename txt and bitmaps folder, it doesnt give me the next dialog box where i can save the mod? a black box briefly shows up - and i cant find where my mod is saved? there is a folder that says "repackaged" in the program files for GOTextractor, but this has no effect in game. Any help would be brilliant, thanks!!! my modded texture files are displaying properly as sfs in Noesis btw - Thanks!!!
@@godfather3002 I suggest to use very first version of GOTExtractor to repack the files. Also for some cases remove the slash before the bitmap text in the filename.txt file. If you still face the issue then try to name it simply. Once you get the file just rename it perfectly like your mod file shows after the main game file. Is anyone else having an issue where you cant repack. For me it just crashes when I go to select the folder to repack. this happens even if follow the steps one to one, or if I make no changes to someone else's mod (just unpack theirs and then try to repack it.
@@jpthehero This kind of worked. I used 1.0.0.1 and it doesn't crash when selecting the folder. However, now when I name psarc and save it gives the standard "if no issues occured etc" and it correctly creates an r.exe file, but there is no psarc file.

The name of the file is "hero_head_hair_01_mtl.msac.d.0" and also you need to edit face texture (Both hero_head_mtl.msac.d.0 & g.0) to make the hair color. Otherwise in the game it will show only as black.

Check the folder where you put the GoTExtractor, I had the same issue but once I checked that folder I found a folder called ~Repackaged and found my psarc in there, all I had to do was rename it and drop it into my folder and everything worked
Dont use Hxd bro. Now the method is very simple. Use noesis to import the edited image. Just follow these. Export the file to png and make the edit. Then go to noesis and select the edited png file. Now click export preview button from the menu and then choose the original sps file in the dialog box. Thats it. Click ok and then u r edited textures will be converted to sps file.
Hi, I wanna import tsukoyomi armor dye from legend mode to gold dye in campaign. I sucessfully did the chestplate and the thighpads but the helmet is missing texture, the belt too, and the shoes because the gold dye doesn't have as much files as the tsukoyomi armor. Any way to fix this ?

Problem solved! Im a dummy. I needed to actually activated the "display file extension" when viewing files on explorer.

Heyo, followed the steps in saving the .dds file but it is always bigger then the .sps file, any ideas on what I can do?
Once extracted save the dds file in proper compression using editing software. So you can see the same size. Otherwise DDS will be bigger

For some reason I had to save the DDS vertically flipped as the process of saving the DDS was flipping it!
