How the Division team has never managed to fine tune their focus on that mode - despite the OBVIOUS desire for it (see: The Day Before) - blows my mind. I thought the standalone Heartland would be a callback to the feel we got from the original DZ, and it got cancelled. I swear I don't know how these decisions get made. You're literally the only person I ever seen bring up what all extraction shooters should be like or at least strive for in my opinion. The Division 1 dark zone was SO GOOD, the best part about how they did extraction was if you died you had a chance to go back and reclaim your loot because you stayed in the same server unlike other games when you have to go back to the main menu or hub. I think if this game can replicate just that one feature it will succeed where no one has in this genre since the dark zone. The Finals is the most impressive new game IMO but wasn’t enough to pull me away from Apex. This looks pretty cool and different from anything I have personally played
I know how you and many others feel about this but the devs have stated that the original concept became stale fast and was not as fun as they wanted. What this means can be interpreted in many ways but I think it lacked helldivers spices such as stratagems, backpacks, armors and that may be why it wasn't as fun as they had hoped.
this game looks so fun an exciting I just hope its not filled with cheaters.. unfortunately theyre everywhere now in shooter games! I play THE FINALS daily and honestly one of my all time favorite shooters..the devs truly care about what the put out and give their audience! I wish nothing but amazing success for this game
I'm currently playing the playtest, safe to say it is amazing, great potential, PVP is...Alright, time to kill feels way to high, and it isn't balanced with teams like other extraction shooters. And the PVE elements are really fun, I only encountered two ground enemies, and they were quite small, hope we get bigger ones.
This is one of those games I have had an eye on - it seems it would scratch an itch. I tried it with The Cycle Frontier - which I kinda really loved. But it got shut down sadly so I've been looking for something similar.
The Finals was a good holiday Christmas game, but then we understood the meta, and it was really monotone one-sided. So when you talk about good balance, I don't know if I want to trust you on that! But we will give it a go.
I think finals and arc raiders are developed by different parts of embark team. Thos games were developed pretty much in parralel, so they most probably wont have much in common.
i was really enjoying The Cycle extraction first 2 seasons. It was nice to explore new game mechanics, maps. etc. But then devs ruined game badly. Now my goto extraction is Hunt Showdown. Looking forward for Arc riders with hope.
2:24 I've literally never heard this. Everybody I play with is just waiting for an extraction shooter that feels really good to play, has decent graphics, and offers more fun than sitting and holding angles because you heard a footstep. Tarkov is a test of your patience and specific game knowledge. Dark and Darker is kinda fun, but it didn't feel very rewarding, it's kinda slow/clunky, and it doesn't look good. Others feel like the antithesis to Tarkov, where everything feels TOO videogame-y and cartoonish, and they don't provide the thrill of danger. The Forever Winter looks like a game of cat & mouse, but you're the mouse, and you stand little chance against enemies, so you have to play like a rat and hope you don't engage in combat (I haven't played it, but this is my impression after watching plenty of gameplay videos from content creators.) People are sick and tired of bad/mediocre extraction shooters. We still want GOOD extraction shooters. I kinda enjoy Tarkov, but the QoL considerations in that game are almost nonexistent. Why can't you put an icon on a map that shows your team positions? Why can't we have a legitimate in-game map to reference/mark? Why do Arena and PvE cost extra money for basic game modes that other games simply provide their players? Tl;dr We want GOOD extraction shooters that are fun, provide the thrill of danger, and have QoL features that cater towards your extremely dedicated fanbase. Is that too much to ask?
Looks amazing! Not happy about it not being FTP though. Too many $70 games that are garbage. Wish it was FPS rather than 3rd person though, not a fan of 3rd person.
Forever winter looks good as an extraction game I think that will be the better of an extraction game. No pay to win game no monotize it’s all hard grind it’s all game
Arc Raiders was a fantastic game when I played the test with only pve. Not sure about adding the pvp. Also it was originally supposed to be free to pay. I guess that is no longer the case.
Still haven't had a decent extraction shooter that scratches my cycle frontier itch. I unwishlisted this game when I saw it didn't have PvP so I'm glad they decided to add PvP. Re wishlisted 😅
Finals has great gunplay and movement - but the game modes are frustrating and bothersome. They need team death match, and they just refuse because they want to be different.

I hope it's like Helldivers 2 mixed with PvP elements. That would be really cool!
If The Finals has showed me anything, Embark loves yheir games and the community that plays them. I'm definitely trying this out.
When I saw the trailer for this game, the way they run reminded me of BF3 and low and behold, Embark is made up of former BF Devs. So stoked for this. Going to be solo q'n because I have no friends
I've been so hyped for this since it was first shown I am hopeing for a test invite 😁👍
Being a big fan of Destiny, tarkov, and the finals i really think i am going to like this game. Thanks for the video on it!
The Finals is the most impressive new game IMO but wasn’t enough to pull me away from Apex. This looks pretty cool and different from anything I have personally played
I Love the Finals, I play it everyday ! Now Embark must do a little crossover ! Arc Raider skins on The Finals ! 😁
the first division game was a fire extraction shooter and pretty much the OG of the genre
It would be awesome to see a little multico symbol on the robots
Be sure to give us an update! I'm also hoping for the best for this game. Cheerio!
I just want to main the PVE mode. That’s all I want.
I know how you and many others feel about this but the devs have stated that the original concept became stale fast and was not as fun as they wanted. What this means can be interpreted in many ways but I think it lacked helldivers spices such as stratagems, backpacks, armors and that may be why it wasn't as fun as they had hoped.
i think they will add the mode for it we gotta see
The rétro sci-fi vibe is nice
The Division survival game mode was a great extraction survival shooter.
Hunt Showdown is a very good extraction shooter
this game looks so fun an exciting I just hope its not filled with cheaters.. unfortunately theyre everywhere now in shooter games!
Man im having withdrawal since the tech demo. Just feel like exploring more and stuff, but oh well, we will have to wait!!!!
This is one of those games I have had an eye on - it seems it would scratch an itch. I tried it with The Cycle Frontier - which I kinda really loved. But it got shut down sadly so I've been looking for something similar.
Seems that your reviews are expanding further and further from FPS games. That said, could you make a video about Wildlands/ Breakpoint/ Division?
I always have an issue with the mindset of, the earth is in a fight for the survival of humanity and every life counts so we should add PVP.
I thought this game is never out good to know it’s still at work
You should check out The Forever Winter that game is awesome and i cant wait for future updates and fixes its gonna be amazing
great games
The division dark zone method is still best in class when it comes to the extraction "method" if you ask me.
Need some prox chat hopefully
it has it 👀👀
A pretty useless feature in PC games, because either everyone is in a premade party anyway, or there simply isn't any need to talk to the enemy.
@@DisgruntledDoomer u have never experienced good prox chat then. I've saved my life in games like dayz and tarkov with prox chat lol
The Finals was a good holiday Christmas game, but then we understood the meta, and it was really monotone one-sided. So when you talk about good balance, I don't know if I want to trust you on that! But we will give it a go.
Just hoping it lowkey like sea of thieves where more on the PVE helping randoms less on PVP though having it as threat make it more immersive
Is going to have a price tag? The game was announced in 2021 as a Free to play, I’m confused.
The finals is fire a lot of potential in it
You forget Hunt Showdown, the best we have out there.
I was excited for it to be a PVE game, but I can't do anymore of these extraction shooters.
I think finals and arc raiders are developed by different parts of embark team. Thos games were developed pretty much in parralel, so they most probably wont have much in common.
I haven't played the finals myself, but, I've heard they basically took all the movement out
Love me some finals cant wait to try this
I think I'd like it considering the finals is a solid pvp shooter. My only question is this on console?
those guys need to do the next true battlefield
i was really enjoying The Cycle extraction first 2 seasons.
The Forever Winter looks like a game of cat & mouse, but you're the mouse, and you stand little chance against enemies, so you have to play like a rat and hope you don't engage in combat (I haven't played it, but this is my impression after watching plenty of gameplay videos from content creators.)
People are sick and tired of bad/mediocre extraction shooters.
I'm surprised that people are discussing this topic as if Hunt Showdown doesn't exist
Looks amazing! Not happy about it not being FTP though. Too many $70 games that are garbage. Wish it was FPS rather than 3rd person though, not a fan of 3rd person.
it's only $40 !
Tarkov has its issues like you said but the game is very good. It’s the reason so many companies are trying to make pvpve games.
In terms of PvE games you could do a lot worse than CoD Ghosts Extinction. It was such an overlooked game.
Finals has great gunplay and movement - but the game modes are frustrating and bothersome. They need team death match, and they just refuse because they want to be different.
Helldiver is still a great PvE extraction shooter my favorite by far
If we talking ab no good pvpve games, The Cycle in its early stages before it turned into the cycle : frontier. Was a breath of fresh air for ab 1-2 weeks b4 it lacked in any updates & became repetitive. After The Cycle :Frontier came out i was hyped then completely stopped playing it cause they changed everything ab the game that made it good. I think if Embark pulls this off i might be very much invested. I haven't played another game that had that same feeling as the Cycle in a while. So plz leave any suggestions.
This reminds me of helldivers but without the PVP. Helldivers is more PVE.
Im bout to play it for the first time, lets see if this holds up.
I think the best extraction shooter out there is hunt:showdown
Although the community has been going a bit crazy over recent events :/
@@phoenixcook1148most of the community is just a bunch of morons, like for every other multiplayer game
hey, its the Destiny/warframe of this generation... both games that released with the same premise at the same time, only that this time its Forever Winter
There in fact, no link in the description
everyone forgot about The Cycle: Frontier...I won't..😥
So, basically it's The Division Dark Zone
I’m hyped for this game, but I disagree about DMZ, it was a spectacular game.
If you haven't try hunt showdown. If you like pvpve then that's a great go to.
I like Embark, fellow Swedes, and I do know they got a bunch of good Bungie devs as well, so looking forward to this
I hope it's as fast and chaotic as the Finals, please let us destroy buildings
We already know we can take down the massive spider robots, I want them to fall down and break everything around them
All these dev companies made up of senior devs from bigger companies haven't made anything at all, except these guys!
It was also playable last year 😋
