For my newest video, I was thinking... what do I really love in this game? and the answer: My scourge! My favourite class to play (next to mesmer). Scourge is a very low intensity specialization and I wanted to make an intro video, not going into much detail, about why you should give it a try.

NOTE: at 5:23 It should be Ritual of Life, the top most trait (for pulsing heals like 10:02) and not Blood Bond, the bottom trait.

I do appreciate this video. Scourge is such a radical change from base necromancer and my current specialty (Reaper) that starting to play Shade has an element of WTF do I do now. This very video really helps bridge the gap between total beginner and the guidance in sources like Hardstuck and Snow Crows. Many thanks for taking the time and effort.

Yo made a so epic video that almost convinces me, but killing everything in 1 second with reaper's soul spiral is too addictive.

yeah that specific Reaper's skill is just amazing. but for long instanced fight I like scourge with the same DPS but better utilities than reaper. for open world reaper just kill the mobs faster

if you want to make your shields more powerful you will need healing power to do it, the devs did not like the lack of healing power being utilized so they nerfed shield gen/self healing via traits/skills to require it

hey how's you gear doing? I do regular fractals and raid learning. suddenly I get enough currency to buy those ascended gears.
i like that it's quite tanky and has a crap ton of boonstrip, altough compared to other dps classes it lacks a bit

Me seeing veteran, elite or champion mobs: prepare to load the condi and hit with epidemic, see the small mobs gets deleted automatically.
What are flex utility skills for open world? Should we be running signet heal? flesh golem elite to take some pressure off? I usually take stab that’s a stunbreak too. Blood is power is the only one I don’t swap out for sure
I usually run signet and golem yes :D Sometimes I swap out fiend for spectral grasp for more cc/group enemies.
Hello. What would you recommend as a cheaper alternative armor set to Viper? I am still relatively new to the game and have yet to save up gold in order to acquire the set, runes, and sigils that go with the build. Thank you!

@@sandyroysantos3476 Run the Verdant Brink meta to T4 (find a party), and you can get stat selectable exotics with ease. This is fine for OW and is only slightly less stats than ascended. To get ascended vipers, craft a cheap ascended item and use the mystic forge to stat change it to vipers (look online how).
Love to be a cornerstone role in bonerskinner. Going in without a heal scourge is like CM mode kek.

god i hate scourge. ima necro enjoyer but that spec is a convoluted mess that i refuse to play. also imo its boring aoe spam, unlike staff ele which is just pure fun
Yep i just started to get into all the necromancer spec's and scurge is by far the most jank shit ive ever played, theres so meny dead trait's that just simply dont work with scurge. since it requires u to either enter shroude or be in shroude which scurge just dosent do at all. it feels so bad...
Desert shroud counts you as in shroud
Manifest sand shade counts as F1 shroud skill, and F2, F3, F4 also F5 count as their own shroud skill, AS WELL AS F1 skill
Pair all that with dhuumfire from soul reaping trait, boom! Toons of burning damage 🔥

Using any Shade skill, including Manifest Sand Shade, will strike enemies near the scourge or any sand shade.
Manifest Sand Shade inherits traits that modify "Shroud skill 1". For example, with Reaper's Might the scourge will gain might when using any shade skill or with Dhuumfire the strike from Manifest Sand Shade will apply burning on hit as well.
Traits that modify other shroud skills will only work on their respective skill. For example, Transfusion only happens when using Garish Pillar.
