Your video was very clear. Thank you. I have video station set up under DSM 7.2 and none of my 4k HDR home movies play in HDR. Any thoughts on how to get movies to play in HDR?
Good day , Amazing video i am thinink of investing in a DS223J to use as media server in the same network and when i am on a trip at a hotel or in the road. Can you tell me if a machine with that specs will work with DS video Station ? cause i cant figure out if it will work with plex cause it doesnt have the power to transcode(lower the resolution) something i dont really need to do since i dont mind using my cell data or a local wifi in the hotel. Also does it play mkv videos just fine? i only want to use it for like 1080p movies not 4k can you tell me if it will work just fine ? Thanks in advance
I have Video Station installed (and working - I think) on a DS213+ after updating to DSM Version: 6.2.4-25556 Update 7. I had to manually update the following after the DSM update. Advanced Media Extension 1.0.2-0039 Audio Station 6.5.7-3383 Media Server 1.8.5-2902 Video Station 2.5.1-1668
So it’s your own disc media transform to digital file mp4 or mkv files. Then you setup Plex and store them there. U need makemvk program and optional handbrake as well a blu ray player to rip ur files.
@@albertdasilvalopes I'm liking Audials 2024, $60 but so far well worth it. It will record seemingly any of the streaming services (netflix, disney+, prime, freevie, hulu, TH-cam, etc.). It can record entire seasons of a show (not scheduled as in weekly releases like a DVR, but of all are available already, like Mandalorian season one. It's only $40 if you want only the video (movies) version, but the full suite includes other functions like upscaling videos (worked WELL when I tested it) or raising the volume of speaking in the video, as well as the ability to MASS record music into MP3s works really well: put in the style of music, or an artist, and it'll record 10 songs at a time from different streaming stations with such music. Great way to discover new music/artists and build an MP3 library, which is nice when traveling and not wanting to use up data on a phone plan playing Spotify/Pandora. It smart labels all the recordings and adds meta data so that everything is organized. If you have a lightweight PC (I first used it on a N95 mini PC from Amazon at $149) you can capture VP8 native streams with good picture quality and afterwards, like overnight convert them to just about any format (HUGE ranges of devices and formats supported) all in the program itself. When I switched up to a Ryzen 5600H mini PC for $235 since it has a GPU built into the Ryzen chip, it will blaze through conversions doing several at once when I converted to H.264 to play from a 70" 4K TV running a Plex client.
Either create files from your own discs, buy them from your local thrift store or garage sale, or your local public library. I use MakeMKV and Handbrake to create my files. I go a bit overboard; I use MakeMKV to create MKV files to get the best quality and then rip those with Handbrake to get smaller sizes for slower processors and portability.
And you would have no way of knowing if he has original copies of all those movies you see. I literally have hundreds of movies on DVD and Blu-ray. I ripped them and put them all on my server, if you saw my server, you would probably say the same thing, but I actually own them all. Quit just assuming everybody’s a thief idiot
People like myself are cleaning out mode switches in VCR players everything proven people keep there mode switch clean out like they should people will never have playing problem's at all with there VCR player plus keeping a new belt in your VCR player every now and then people like myself are buying VCR belts offline for 10 dollars now days New VCR belts
This guy is a scam if he don’t like something you say about his software he shuts you off and out. Also he stole our money. He also talks to the elderly like a dog and the only way he communicates is through Text. The service only works half the time.
Vhs tapes don't stop playing at all plus everything proven vhs tapes don't have to be updated at all like internet does in the future everything proven vhs tapes out doing y'all's video now days
VHS quality also deteriorates and is prone to damage overtime vs. having a digital copy. Also, the space that you save not having to worry about physical storage

you don't, you install DS video on your TV, the server is on the NAS
Just use the built in DLNA and it will play on just about any device.

As of August 2024, Synology's “Video Station” is no longer available. It's been deprecated, with no direct replacement.

Good video
But software bit pointless as same as plex really n probably wont beat plex
So, you showed the world that you have a lot of illegal movie copies as well 😂 Nice that you make it SO easy for the FBI

They just dropped it
Video Station doesn't play all the different formats. It's terrible.
Yes it does. Transcoding is on your tv or other video player source.
Had nothing but problems with synology 2bay, user interface is horrible, ungraded os crashed my plex server, lost all my ripped movies, etc.

Tape degrades, and alll the tapes these days are old stock or super expensive tape drives that are only for enterprise backups
