    Only my fellow African peeps can take a hot bean from a boiling cooking pot and press to check if it's cooked like it was not super hot. Mother Africa, we love you!!!

    That looks good. So the only ingredients are rice, beans, millet leaves, salt, baking soda and water? Thanks for this recipe. Love from Trinidad.

    Is there a reason you used fork for the stirring instead of wooden spoon

    • @TheFoodiHouse
      @TheFoodiHouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is easier to fluff the rice with a fork. But you can use whatever spoon you have. Thank you for watching.

    What if there's no millet leaves??

    • @TheFoodiHouse
      @TheFoodiHouse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can still use just the baking soda. But the leaves plus the baking soda gives you a more deeper reddish color. Thanks for watching!

      @TheFoodiHouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don’t have to. But it helps with the color.

    Why do I have stomach arch each time I eat wakey

    • @TheFoodiHouse
      @TheFoodiHouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some people are sensitive to beans. And sometimes, depending on who made it. The stew might have too much oil in the it and, some people may have a hard time digesting oil (acid reflex).

    Looks delicious. But next time don't touch your cooked food with your hands and drop it back inside the pot again because the food can go bad and it's unhygienic as well

    • @dodoeury5771
      @dodoeury5771 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From ages that is how we check if the beans are done in Ghana here. Have you eaten with your hands before? Did you become sick from contamination because it was your hands? What makes you think her hands were contaminated at the time of handling that food? If food boiling on fire at 100+ degrees can't kill germs that will cause food to go bad, then I guess so be it. Some of you I think are just over sabi (too-known)

      The baking soda might be too much. You can still prepare a good waakye without it
