Marrying off and stripping their status as a noble and forcing them to become a nun in a temple is probably the worst punishment of a noble, royals and imperials during the time of ancient China. The only backlash is that a stripped noble from power can rise again with the help of their allies, means y'a need to (by killing them) remove them too. 😊
