I don't understand why she was basically exiled for 3 years. Her husband didn't know that sh was alive. If he didn't love her so much and admired her so much he could of remarried to someone else and even start a family.
She saved him because he was going to be sentenced to death. So she 'died' instead of him. A lot of people wouldn't accept him for his wrong doing and only after he completed the works the king could help them get back.
