I guess both of them I’m pretty sure the 4x4 transmission harness with plug right into the 2wd harness not 100% sure tho I’m going from an 89 cab to 98 frame
Well I am not to sure about the 90’s truck but I am sure they would just plug in play. The transfer case harness just plugged into the transmission harness.
Hey man! I have a super clean Silverado that I am looking into doing this on. Is there any way i can get a parts list for everything that needs bought/changed? Thank you so much!!
I second this, I have a rare 04 HPO Vortec Max 6.0L V8, interior is mint, I replaced the A/C Compressor, Accumulator, Alternator, all four shocks with RC N3's and the Evap Solenoid etc just a rookie DIY mechanic I guess. Nino can you give us the part list for the swap, i'm looking at a Z71 frame that matches my RWD wheelbase, I think the only part I don't understand is the electrical module/wiring/components for the new 4x4 system on the dash I guess they are wired to the transfer case. My friend owns two shops so if I get a part list I want to do it myself, this is my dream truck that's why i've been rebuilding it. Thanks.
@@diedfrombored5295 Yeah mine was given to me. 89k miles, from alabama, let package, stupid clean, matching cap and everything. It's perfect. But its 2wd.🙄🙄
Hello I’m doing my 2002 1500hd 2wd to 4wd. My frame is bent from a wreck anyways i have a 4wd frame. What did you do for transmissions and wiring on the transfer case. Sorry for the paragraph just want to figure it out
For the transmission, you have to swap out the output shaft in the transmission, and the transfer case, you just plug in the transfer case harness, there is a plug already built in.
So is the front suspension different on a 2wd than a 4wd? I think the front part of the frame has to be boxed and the steering from a 2wd wont fit in a 4wd or thats what ive been told 🤷♂️

Same here. Haha
For real 😂

Did you keep the 2wd wiring harness or use the 4x4 one im changing motors too

Yeah the Front end is different from a 2wd to 4wd. i am not sure about the steering box being different but the suspension is different though.
Where can I pay you to do this?
Do you need a different frame or did you just swap it just because?
The Frames are different.
How hard was it to insure it as a 4wd and how did the insurance rate change if it did
Bought my parents suburban for $700 rebuilt motor and trans only downside is it's a 2wd
This not 4x2 to 4x4 conversion just you swaping everything out
Did you have to change the wiring harness for the transfer case 4wd control buttons?
Yes I had to change the Wiring harness in order for the buttons to work
