For some of you guys asking. The reason we didn't use the complete frame out of the 4x4 donor truck is because the frame is bent bad in the back and it was a cab and chassis truck . It has a Certificate Of Destruction Title. A Frame swap could be a fairly easier way but at that point I would personally straight axle it. The reason we didn't even think about that is because of our time constraint on when the event is. This took us about a full day start to finish to complete. And we want this thing to go fast and figured it would be the best way to keep it stock appearing and low. Also We look forward to doing dirt drags and what not with this thing so we wanted to keep it versatile. Thank you guys for watching keeping our channel alive!!!
@@tomeickhorst6787 Wyatts truck definitely has me for now. We are going to run a stock bottom end on this truck until my built one is ready. Then we can turn it up.
Probably wrong, but you remind me of a friend I had back in the day at Palm Garden apartments on 14th St in the late 80's. We ran around in the back 40 woods with BB guns. Taught me stairway to heaven on guitar and you loved a certain comedian, "Ohhhhhhhhhh!" Probably wrong but if it was you, please hit me up if you'd like.
This was a good video, thanks for the info. Got a question, I think I have assembled all the pieces and parts to convert my 2WD to a 4WD. Would you all cover hooking it all up to the stock control switch on the dashboard. I have the front differential wiring harness and the transfer case wiring harness. I'm not sure how to hook it all up. And would it be required to flash the TCM? I'm not so sure I want to try and recover the mounts off a donor truck. They are a little hard to find around here. However, I can fabricate, so if you have the basic measurements that would be great. Much appreciated.
Justin is a joy to watch! He's knowledgeable, talented and efficient! You guys make a great team. Can't wait to see all the cool stuff you do together.
Justin is a beast! You can tell the difference he's making around the shop, it's clean and organized. It was a solid decision to bring Justin in full time. Great content gentlemen. God bless.
Awesome to see this. I think it was understood if you have all the right tools the 4wd swap is totally doable (plasma cutter, welder and welding skills, etc). The problem is that it’s unskilled teenagers who are wanting to do this conversion who really don’t have the skills or tools needed to do a swap like this (points finger to self). 10 years later I finally bought my dream truck (2006 suburban 2500) which came with 4wd :). Currently rebuilding as we speak and hope to take my kids on some awesome trips in this thing some day. Keep up the content JH! Can’t wait to see this truck rip!
The content on JH channel is getting really good. Love the blower motor, would be cool to see one on a DIESEL V8!!! Justin is doing beautiful work, excellent addition to the shop. 👍
A couple things to note on the manual shift transfer cases behind the diesel, 99-07 are NP261 and 07-10 are MP1225/1226 and they both have the round 6 bolt adapter, 11-14 MP1225/1226 had a oval 11 bolt adapter and a screw in analog speed sensor, the 15-23 MP1225/1226 had the oval adapter and a bolt in digital speed sensor.
Great job as always 👍 i never tried it, but looks easy enough when a 10 or more years experience shows you how it's done always looks easy ❤ keep up the good work 👏
I was not expecting you to be a player at the UCC. Give em hell. Lot of infinite budget players there. If you place about one of them thats a win on its own. Love to see the underdogs give the big players a run.
Man I have a truck that means a lot to me because it was given to me by a love one that passed away and it is a 2 Wheel Drive so this video really does help me in my decision to keep it so I can make it a four-wheel-drive truck great video keep up the good work and thank you for making this video
There’s a factory seam behind the first body mount that you can separate slide them apart and slide the other frame in. I do these swaps all the time that’s the easiest way to do it.
I converted my 03 gasser to the push button 4x4 had to drill a hole in the frame for the independent front end and wire the 4x4 wire harness into the harness
Jh could you post a video on how to swap out the tail shaft and housing on an Allison, no videos on it that I can find, currently doing this conversion myself and some insight would be greatly appreciated, and did you re use the passenger mount bushing in the frame or buy new, having trouble finding part numbers. Thank you and great job
Also, you can do the tail housing in the truck if the trans wasn’t removed yet. Just lift the rear of the truck up in the air to keep all the components in place. Just fyi
can you drop the part # for that passenger side bushing? i swapped my truck to 4x4 and melted it a bit welding it in years ago. haven’t ever been able to find a part number.
I noticed you were putting a lot of heat into those parts to remove them from the donor truck.. My question is, after subjecting those steel parts to excessive heat, they lose their temper and weaken the steel. Do you re-temper the parts before reinstalling them? Asking for a friend.
You wouldn't know where I could get a fiberglass right rear fender for a 95 F 350 CrewCab Dullay. I have looked everywhere. Willing to pay for shipping to California.
Made it look easy. Dam good fabrication, from a pipe welder who does a little of this if it’s ready to be done for people. Pretty much impossible in my book with the engine in.

Great content gentlemen.

Justin is an awesome fabricator! Very impressed with his skills
Just as I was thinking drop the hammer & let him eat dirt, he does it. Classic.
Justin has been a nice addition and is doing a great job.
The talent wit the torch is top notch guys!
Dang, I thought Justin was primarily just a drinking buddy and cameraman, that boy's a damn good fabricator!

Big Jus is the man. Glad he's a full time member of the team. Definitely a man of many talents
It’s a lot of fun seeing Justin in his element cutting/welding. Excited to see this build out continue! 🙂
i like the way Justin thinks things through before hen starts whacking things off with the torch
Love the simple explanation and solid footage you guys are great!
Looking good,Justin definitely has some skills. Nobody will ever be able to tell that truck was converted. Great video.
I really like the new time lapse music! Cool tune that rocks!

Love the explanations on the swap, great job. Now do the same 2wd to 4wd swap on a second gen Tacoma! 😁😁
Very informative video for us non mechanics. Really enjoyed it.
Do you know if 2500hd gas truck frames are an identical conversion?
Justin doing some killer work
It’s great having Justin there full time. Great call you guys !!!
Now you have Justin you guys are killing it with content and getting builds done, I’m loving it. Keep up the good work both of you.

Nice work. That came out great.
I don't always watch the build vids but this one was freaking cool
So cool to have Justin in house. 🤟💯 Great content!! Excited to see what you guys get into this summer. ❤
I pulled up next to you in a white 2012 GMC Denali pulling a red trailer. Rock on 💪
J needs to get one of them loaded push center punches. Great movie!!
I like this type of video, these will do well!
Nice job Justin does good work!
Woo can't wait to see you out rolling with the boys on the drag and drive events
I Love your videos with Justin man 👌

GREAT VIDEO GUYS, KEEP THEM COMING. LOVE IT.
Justin does quality work man, the channel has def taken a good turn adding him.
I’m pumped for Justin and Justin drag and drive in a dirtymax
Cool explanation. Looks like something I might challenge myself to.
WaZz uP. The dually tire set up would be sick . Sleeper mode
Man i love your videos brother
On the passenger side bar did you only have to cut the piece with the flange? What about the back bolt
Great job JH. Love the channel and also. "JH WHO" haha have a Blessed day.
Looking Good, Justin made that look way to easy, He is an awesome asset to your channel!! Let's GO! #BuiltByBo
Hell yea really excited for this build
Love the content buddy
Awesome progress Boys 💪💪
I'll call u on Monday!!!
I got a 2wd I need this done to. But I already have a parts truck!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 love the new build videos!

They have jumping snakes in Florida?
Nicely done Justin
Hell yeah, that was some good work!
You don’t have a lmm bumper laying around by chance do you 😅

Also, you can do the tail housing in the truck if the trans wasn’t removed yet. Just lift the rear of the truck up in the air to keep all the components in place. Just fyi
What kind of headache is the wiring harness, computer changes, dash controls/floorboard shifter and all the other stuff needed to change 2wd to 4wd?
can you drop the part # for that passenger side bushing? i swapped my truck to 4x4 and melted it a bit welding it in years ago. haven’t ever been able to find a part number.
You made my day dude
Thank you
Easton got skills
Solid axle?? Just wondering why you went with the ifs
Those parts look super simple. I can’t believe someone hasn’t made some aftermarket ones and sell a kit to convert one.
You have the link for frame bushings
You should put that dually rear end in the burnout truck. Four tires smoking is better than two!
Hey JH is that hood for the donor truck for sale??
Justin is a beast
You going to have to switch to torsion bars I assume? Great content lately esp with Justin adding on
Jh how can I get up with you about that front end ? Fenders hood bumper core support ?
I noticed you were putting a lot of heat into those parts to remove them from the donor truck.. My question is, after subjecting those steel parts to excessive heat, they lose their temper and weaken the steel. Do you re-temper the parts before reinstalling them? Asking for a friend.
None of the parts are tempered steel. Just mild steel or cast. Can’t heat treat it.
@@KJ-kw7gh Ah. See I learn something new everyday even at my ripe old age of 67. Thanks.
Sell the cab lights off the donor truck??
You wouldn't know where I could get a fiberglass right rear fender for a 95 F 350 CrewCab Dullay. I have looked everywhere. Willing to pay for shipping to California.
weld front diff?
4x4 is all four all the time
awd is different and uses traction control and stuff
I have a base model Silverado 1500 (2012). It 2wd. Is it worth it to convert to 4wd? What would ballpark cost be?
My buddy needs a TCM there impossible to get and wreckers in Canada are asking over 3k.
Nice job!
Hey do you got any extra 04 ficm's laying around needing one for my truck and cant find one.😂😂
Made it look easy. Dam good fabrication, from a pipe welder who does a little of this if it’s ready to be done for people. Pretty much impossible in my book with the engine in.
Thought you were putting a built transmission in it
I was wondering if u could of just swapped out the cab and bed and the rear axle and problem solved
Great video
Dam I need fender off the donor truck passer side
JH knows his chit
Hell yeah brother
What’s something like this run in shop cost? $?
You have to get mics so we can here both Justin's better.
I could definitely use the hydro brake off the firewall 🤔
It’s probably leaking like 90% of the original s do
