Hi, I've just found your page and it's so refreshing to learn about settings etc from a 'calm' expert who is not hyped-up on too much coffee!! You know your stuff and I wish you all the best with the ongoing continuation of your page..... regards, Steve (61yrs old in Reading !!! - maybe not your ideal demographic !!!)
Jett, I am one of your new subscribers. I just got the a6700 to up my quality on my channel in 2024. I've worked to get the video settings dialed in and have memories (1, 2, & 3) for 24, 60, and 120 fps. What about the photo memories? Have you considered what are custom settings that may be useful for putting in the memories? Thanks for your information Big help!
Hey! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for subscribing! I have had a think about it but to be honest it’s quite rare that I’ll need to shoot a photo with the exact same settings unlike video. Even if I used custom dial 1 for long exposure, I’d still need to adjust it. Do you have any suggestions?
@@jettreels It took me a few days of experimenting. What I did was to save my favorite normal setting to "1." I then save my timer mode to "2" for when I want to time the shot. Finally, I save time lapse settings to "3" because I do a lot of sky shots and astrophotography. I haven't tried astro work with this camera yet, but am looking forward to trying it out. It should be epic. Thanks again for your very clear and practical setup instructions.
would be better if you would explain why these are the best settings for you. i disagree with these but there is no way for me to know why you chose these. for example srgb, why not adobe? no explanation. raw lossless only takes up more space with little gain, better have a good reason for this. the list goes on.
Hey, thanks for the feedback! I get that these settings might not be for everyone-they’re just what work best for my style and workflow. For instance, I go with sRGB because my main output is web-focused, and I choose RAW lossless because it gives me flexibility in post, which I find useful even if it’s a bit more storage-heavy. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts though!

How come my JPEG Image Size is amazed at L:23M and yours is 26M? Same camera: A6700
That’s odd? Did you figure it out? 🤔
@@jettreels nope, still only max is at 23M. How do i go about it, what does it even mean exactly? 23mega pixels lol?
When you buy the camera off Temu Sony deducts a pixel
@@djcaliente ahaha... anyways, how do i fix this?
in my camera the image size only L:22M. Did you know why that is? :(
Hmm that’s odd. Maybe have a look back and see if it all matches up with mine. I’ll look into this in the meantime 🤔
It's kinda late but if not fixed maybe you are on 16:9 and not using the whole sensor.
