Ordinarily, it’s easy to ignore. But when you have to work around a person like this or be in school with them, it can be tedious to deal with.
Damn. I mean it's tough alright to find people who see you for you, and it's harder when you can't express yourself 100% due to a language barrier. Y'know, I've always dreaded moving to another country while I was in school so honestly mad respect to you for managing all that (and for keeping a diary, my ass could never). Hope that you'll find your people and good luck with learning Japanese. I actually tried when I was about your age but it didn't go nowhere unfortunately (gotta have discipline for that).
Honestly you are a soft and kind person who does care, but you are also pretty strong to live in a country, with different values, customs and language from your own. It’s not even a place made especially for you like transfer programs that help you integrate a little bit easier. It’s honestly pretty scary to be in that position as an introvert who’s very shy and self conscious to be around people you probably look down on your and people you don’t understand. But the brightside is It’ll get better from now on as you go through it! Gl on your journey
i've suffered from the same affliction all my life. the worst part is that if you go out of your way to try and counter it by plastering on a fake smile and forcing a positive attitude then instead of being scary, cold, serious, or angry they now view you as weird, fake, or creepy lmao
This might not make you feel better, but ギャップ萌え(I don't know if it's just an anime word but ppl use it colloquially in Taiwan, the Chinese version of it ofc) is a thing. When ppl who thinks you appear to be scary find out you are actually a kind and nice person, maybe they like you even more than otherwise. Speaking from experience :)

oh yeah sometimes when guys say scary as in like shes scary, for me I meant it in as close as I like the person. Being scared is sometimes a share of submission and yet cool with the person. (Everyone is scared of me, so I have to be afraid of the girls so I'm not that threatening.)
