NuTimeTeam is damn good, but it's just not quite the same without Phil and Tony bantering and Phil's disgusting hat vibing. I kind of like to amuse myself with the idea that during NuDigs, Phil and Tony are offscreen, in a tent or local pub, heckling and chuckling and reminiscing in their private capacity as enthusiastic individuals having a laff and a pint.
Love Time Team all the people in the program are like old friends and as I was an archaeologist for 10 years before retiring it brings back many memories of my time doing something I loved.
I won't/can't say I don't like the new members of the Time Team I just miss the original members so I really like these older episodes. Thank you and I'll always continue to support The Time Team.
Maybe there was once a smaller Bitterly somewhere? Little Bitterly. Some Villages in the UK have a Great and a Little with the same title, for example Great Massingham and Little Massingham
"Drink your Bitterly and go home" -- Sir Tony ... his childish rants with Mick are legendary "I'll screw his neck one day" -- Mick Aston when flummoxed by Sir Tony.
Never understood why Alex Langland was doing Stuart Ainsworths job here, but at least he was contributing something, unlike the other parachutes 'celebrity' (I forgot her name) who adds absolutely nothing.
I love Time Team, love the concept, love the archaeologists, love seeing their finds, and hearing their knowledge. But Tony is such a pain in the a*%@. His ‘tension=good TV’ approach is tedious. Recent eps without him are so calm and interesting.
Ley means meadow, it’s quite a common ending for a village name. Either the bitter part comes from an entirely different root word, or there was something bitter in that meadow!
Nothing like a bit of muddy digging and medieval gossip! 😆 WHO knew uncovering ancient rubbish could reveal so much? 🏺🕵️♂️ #TimeTeamClassics #DiggingUpThePast
2024 and still will never get tired of Time Team always a classic full of legends!

Who wouldn't have loved to be on their team.
@@bettyir4302 look good fun,
Archeologists retire?!
Mick & Tony's banter- Classic!

I love the salt in Mick’s voice when Tony goes on winging about a field boundary. Classic Mick and Tony.
Quite right. Tony is quite tiresome in this episode.
His disappointment of hearing there is no pub in the village 😂😂😂
Didn't think a village could survive without one!
Going to the pub after a long day of archeology and filming seems to be the norm for the team 🤣 this reaction doesn't surprise me. Poor guys
Phil is a damn gem
“Phil was Bitterley disappointed” … Sorry guys, just like Tony at the start, I just couldn’t help myself 😅
Alex, hero of farms of all ages :)
12:33 in future, Phil would always make sure the local village had a pub before accepting a Time Team gig
"Let's sneak around the gate..." Meanwhile, the camera operator is already waiting inside.
Seems sus...
How great to see Mick again looking well, and his gorgeous wild white hair long & flowing in the sunlight!❤❤❤
Time Team. Like my own little village of characters. At least it wasn’t bitterly cold….🥶
Love the classics.
It's just classic time team 😂😂
And then BUT THERE'S STILL NO PUB HERE 😂😂😂😂😂
Missin the old crew.
I wish that TH-cam will show me more Time Team video from the actual Time Team channel
Just clic on the timeteam icon (round little pic) and you will find their landing page with all their uploads. Choose one to watch. Enjoy.
That was excellent.
You know Tony couldn't wait to use that pun.
Nice to see Raksha Dave!
I love Raksha too!
Bitterly disappointed? Lol British humor is almost as bad as dad humor. Love it.

The pub in Bitterley is bitterly missed
On the two church Theory, looks like in new Bitterley, there is a Georgian rectory but no Church in the village.
When did Phil's hat get its makeover of waxy biology.? Could do with a couple of feathers, though. !!!
Who is the Knob that wears his cap indoors?
Wait, a town called Bitter-ly with no pub?! 😮
Is it cold in Bitterley
❤❤❤
Why is there no farming in the U,K.
❤

England lives.
Bitterly and Butterly?
you realise that this full episode has been hijacked by at least three other channels!?

You already uploaded this episode, 4 years ago on this same channel.

Hahaha. Dont ya ❤️ the way a piece of old crap becomes a “ piece of a pot”. Or old dog turd. 😂😂
What a horrid name for a town ....wonder what y it was named that?
Quite fitting for a village with no pub.

According to the Oxford Dictionary of English Place Names, it means "meadow which produces good butter".
