    coaching youth sports was one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. There are so many lessons that can be taught through sportsmanship.

    When I was a high school wrestler my opponent and I scored on each other so quickly and repeatedly that after the clock ran out the two of us sat exhausted in the middle of the mat while the referee met with the score keeper to tally up the points to see who won. We shook hands with each other while we waited. The audience gave us a standing ovation. (I won)

  • @thebipolarpsychonaut4984

    As a former wrestler I can confirm it is the most exhausting sport on the planet.

    • @TheNeonParadox
      @TheNeonParadox ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd argue it's neck-and-neck with soccer, but as a former Greco myself, I agree.

    • @MarijnvdSterre
      @MarijnvdSterre ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I believe for sure it is absolutely in the top. But unless you did all other sports (that are considered as extremely exhausting) you can't really confirm that from experience.

      @@MarijnvdSterre What sport, or sports, would you place in contention? I didn't play football, but none of the football players that came to our practice lasted more than a week. I've participated in a large variety of sports so I am curious about your opinion.

      @@thebipolarpsychonaut4984 wrestling is nothing compared to running a marathon !! Your body has to recover for more than a month after a marathon !! Or what about triatlon? 10 km swimming etc etc etc

    • @MarijnvdSterre
      @MarijnvdSterre ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thebipolarpsychonaut4984 I don't make any claim about what is most exhausting.
      But I am not that surprised if people build for running and kicking don't fit well with wrestling.
      I used to be a goalkeeper for Handball and I have seen a lot of people try, but rarely someone last more then 15 minutes. That doesn't mean it is exhausting (really isn't demanding at all if we talk condition), it just isn't the right fit.
      I also hadn't anything in mind, just like I said, you need to have done all contenders to be able to make the claim.
      But to not cop out: Long distance running, Ice hockey, Rugby, rowing, speed skating maybe crossfit. To name a few. Non of which you can keep up with the people who have been practicing for a while.
      How exhausting something is, depends largely on how much you push yourself of course. (You seen the runners collaps in the video)

    That's because Steph Curry is just a hell of a human being. I understand the dislike of the Warriors, dislike his play style, dislike the flash, dislike the GS mentality etc, I get that. But I don't think it's possible to dislike Curry the man. He's truly one of the best examples of not letting fame go to his head, especially when it comes to his interactions with kids.

    3:27. 100% sure that's Steven Adams a New Zealander who has played basketball in the USA for the Oklahoma City Thunder, the New Orleans Pelicans and the Memphis Grizzlies. Nothing but respect for him, and have lost track of the number of times l've seen him demonstrate what a thoroughly decent guy he is. He's a gentle giant from a very talented sporting family. Two of his half-sisters are athletes who have competed for Aotearoa/ New Zealand: Dame Valerie Adams is a dual Olympic gold medallist and four-time world champion shot-putter and Lisa Adams has won gold at the Paralympics also in shot-put. Two of his brothers also played basketball for Aotearoa/ New Zealand. We're super proud of them. 😊

    Seeing the female runner crawl across the finish line reminded me of the line I've heard about marathons and such: the point is to finish, regardless of where you place. An example of determination, focus, and, finishing. Bravo to her. And those stopping to help their opponents is what raises them, in my view, to true sportsmen (or women), from mere basketball, volleyball (or whatever) players.

    You know, I usually like to wait till the end of the video to comment, but I already know what I want say: this is what I expect from people honestly, simply because they're capable of it. So when I see something that makes people say they've "lost their faith in humanity", I'd rather say I'm just disappointed, because while we have plenty of evidence that people can suck sometimes, we also have way more proof, I believe, that people can definitely do better as well. In fact, sometimes it's in response to the former. Not "be better", because I don't think that can be measured, but just doing whatever they can to be helpful and kind. It's always a great thing to see😊

    • @frankcayseron8637
      @frankcayseron8637 ปีที่แล้ว

      people say they lost their faith in humanity BECAUSE it is so easy to do small act of kindness but they keep seeing people do petty bullshit and atrocity. yes there are people who will help an elderly cross the road, but you cant really say that balance out school shooting or racism. you are correc there is lot of proof around internet that individuals CAN DO good things. but there is also proof of so many worst people in the world doing nice things too.
      When people say they lost faith in humanity they dont do it because they cant see the good but because humanity excells at doing worst. even nicest people snap and lose their shit and those are outnumbered by the bad people so although i agree saying you lost faith in humanity is very negative, it is also just a statistical acceptance

    I've only ever hit a genuine "pain/exhaustion wall" once in my life, on a long-distance run for my school, and holy crap anyone who does that more than once has my utmost respect. Struggling through it is _no_ joke, so the fact so many do is amazing! Your body just absolutely refuses to cooperate and you barely have enough energy to stay concious. I've only ever felt pain on that scale one other time in my life, and it was more recently when my small intestine got completely blocked by a tumour and had "kinked" in on itself and a section had started to die. Definitely _not_ keen to repeat _either_ experience I'll tell you!!
