This is an interesting perspective. I mean, hearing kids get distracted in class and may even completely ignoring the teacher to talk among themselves. Usually those kids get some kind of repercussion for this. Should it be the same for these two girls? They are choosing ro ignore the interpreter.
Deafness is a spectrum. They may not be completely deaf, and they may be able to hear some noises, depending on frequency (or cochlear implants and hearing aids can be of help) . Or, because this school seems very keen on supporting students, we can just assume they have installed a bell with flashing light.
