When I saw this video I cried because I had the same experience just with a different disability in kindergarten I had a really rude teacher we were learning colors but I was color blinds so I didn’t raise my hand when she was asking questions one day she called on me to tell me what color she was pointing at I told her I was color blind she didn’t believe me and neither didn’t anyone else so I was sent to the principals office he called my mother to confirm I actually was and then she was fired

i have seen grown adults do this in a workplace. There are more people who aren't willing to push themselved to learn how to communicate with someone who is deaf than people who are.
I get it taking a few weeks to get everyone on board with ignoring him but it takes a lot longer than that to learn an entirely new language. How are teachers teaching entire classes, students talking at lunch and the lunch lady taking order all in sign language if they just learned it a few weeks prior? I love the idea but I feel like it would’ve gone over better if it was on a smaller scale like just their classroom

I am deaf; yes, there’s a lot of barriers and bullies from everywhere, it’s not only in school. This is why we been fought for all of our rights to be fair as u guys. Deaf community are very small so we need awareness and understanding and help as any possible so we can be equal as u guys expect we can’t hear. There’s a lot of free asl classes but find best American Sign Language (asl) as sign language professor that’s are deaf. Ull thanks me later when u learn sign language, it’s fun.

Fun fact about me with kickball: I was playing kickball in gym class, and i kicked the ball and i thought it was a strike (It wasn't). Then one of the players pushed me off home base because i didn't move. Then he pointed at his head and "It looks like you're missing something up here". I started to cry, i went to the back. My friend and best friend were on my team and they comforted me. My best friend went to the player that said that thing, and yelled at him. And that banned kickball for the rest of the school year.
