I own the Rocket 3 GT I've had it for just over 12 months done nearly 9000 KMS, I've owned 5 Harleys including a 2006 VRod plus a Yamaha Roadstar 1600 out of all these bikes the Triumph Rocket 3 GT is superior to all of the other bikes I have ever owned over the years this is the best bike I have ever owned in every aspect of this Rocket GT does everything right handling braking etc, I still get the greatest adrenaline rush when I'm on the freeway cruise control at 110 kph and I pull out to pass a slower car one quick twist on the twist grip and boom 180-200 kph within seconds what a BUZZ LOL !
Never owned a Harley but ridden a couple. Trying a Fat Bob and 2022 Sportster next week… Keen to see if they impress me but so far I’m smitten with the Rocket. It’s good to hear that it’s made such a exciting bike long term with an owner 👍🏼
Just imagine how fast it is when you unlock the ECU. Triumph has these held back. You give it 100% throttle in Sport mode, and it never delivers more than 64% throttle opening. Give it all the throttle you want, the bike never gives you full power. You can change that in about 20 minutes with TuneECU.
I love watching the reactions first time Rocket riders get when they try it out, it’s for sure a pantomime baddie! 😂 Did you put it in sport mode and give it the beans? You need to get more time on it… Also, it switches from DRL to low beam automagically when it gets dark, did you work that out? There is a lot of tech on the bike that I touched on in a couple of videos if you are interested. 👍🏻
The bike was intoxicating but sadly this was kinda spontaneous and I didn’t get the time or roads to have a really thorough play. Fortunately I’m going back for part 2 after a small commitment in the Adriatic on the GS in September, after that I think the Rocket and I will be tying the note! This is a bike I need a permanent relationship with! I’ll be looking at the R as soon as possible
@@TangoPasty You won’t regret going steady with a Rocket! I have an R mainly because I wanted the Korosi Red paint scheme, and then added bits from the GT as options, such as screen, backrest and heated grips. The riding position of the R suits me, pretty sure I wouldn’t like the forward pegs…
@@watchapexmedia I’ll working my way through your videos. Great honest reviews! Hope to do likewise with the Rocket when I get it. In the meantime I’ll have to cope on the GS. Love the red too so that’s what I’ll go for. Aiming for a 221 limited edition if I can find the right one
@@TangoPasty the red they use on the 221 is nice, as are the extra black highlights. The specs on the top of the tank are a sticker under the clear coat, so that’s a bit naff considering Triumph boasts about the hand painted gold line bikes. I’m aiming to replicate the 221 look a bit with a bunch of carbon parts from CarbonFBR, so stay tuned for that video, which will also include swapping out the meep meep horn for a Denali mini sound bomb. I look forward to more Rocket content once you bite the bullet!😄
Wanted to like it and buy it when it first came out but just a plastic sanitised version of the original R3 which really was a beast and the new one is way too small if you're 6'4" plus. Bring back the beast!!
Your so far from the truth. The new rocket is far far greater than the original...I've had 3 of the originals..last one being the roadster....loved it, it was a great bike...but this new version is something else. Smoother faster no clunky gearbox...6 gears.no shaft noise. Handles...stops. etc etc..l have the r black. limited edition and it looks fantastic. You need to ride one before you comment negatively. As far as plastic goes...where? Rad cover is same as the old one...plastic. as they say dont knock till you've tried it.

That's how I feel about my Rocket 😆
Heyhey 1956 ,.wow!!! 110 kph even a maxi scooter will be whizzing past you at that speed

Dave I’m hoping I’ll find out early next year when I get my hands on one of these. Will do a thorough ‘living with’ review (with better sound 😂)

@@watchapexmedia that’s a shame about the spec sticker. I thought that was a showroom sticker 😂… Agree re the Denali! The mini should plug straight on

Glad I’m a shortie at 5’9 😂
I had a 2007 R3 Classic and it doesn't compare in any way to the current version. Ride one, Andrew.

Cant really hear what your are saying then blaring music that hurts your ears. Modulation, my friend.
Yep. Lesson learnt for the next one 👍🏼
I expected another lardy da boring lady with that name.
Instead we get a brute of a man straight from a scene of Henry V at Agincourt .
