For a new build untested car I feel it did pretty well. Now it fast with that motor that's for sure. Front tires are wrong for the track and the diff maybe tight but it looked good LOL So happy you were able to run the car.
Nice test run, Chris sent me photos of the build also. Big project. I think the diff might need to be tighter and maybe a smaller pinion and timing adjustment...should be good. That gearbox is great...but it needs a tight diff. Maybe I should send you my Losi JRXT to RIP around the track 😊
The great thing with using the BBX gear box is the selection of parts. You can use an open gear diff from yeah racing or Tamiya. Tamiya's diff is oil filled with metal parts. The original Astute has a ball diff no slipper clutch and a 70t spur. The Super Astute has the slipper clutch (82 tooth spur) with the open gear diff. I have combined the two thinking it would make the car more "tune-able".
It was rolling around the track with some spunk! Hopefully the motor is not wrecked and can be brought back. I wish I had a recommendation other than gearing down a couple teeth on the pinion. I go by feel and temps usually and suck at the whole gear ratio business!
Very cool man. I think your idea of putting the front tire with that ridge on it is a good one for that track. I'd think of something for the rear tires as well if possible. If possible with your transmitter, you could fool around a bit with the steering rate and the profile for acceleration. Just a few thoughts. I'm still a bit surprised about how much better your RC10 handled than most of the buggies you've run on here.
Once you put a motor in a new car, or change the gearing, it is a MUST to put your finger on the motor for 10 seconds after running it for 2 minutes full speed ! If you must remove the finger because of too much pain => WRONG gearing.

Very cool car I love the engineering of this car very talented to pull that off for sure
Awesome run. I waited for this. Thanks for showing👍
Awesome looking buggy, hopefully that motor can be saved!
Nice to see the custom Astute ripping around.
There is just something about the sound of a brushec motor 👌 hopefully the motor isnt toast 🤞

That’s got good torque and speed , plus it’s a damn fine looking car
WOOOHOOOO!!! Car ripped for a first run! Cheers!
Hey Keith a great 1st run with this bespoke RC, Chris did an amazing job of building this one 😊😊best wishes to you and the family 🖐️😎😉
Ok yes

Great car, I'd try a smaller pinion, ribbed tires on the front and a 50c 2S battery. Maybe even a 17 turn motor. Has a lot of potential.
Cool buggy that thing was moving. I hope that motor is repairable but it might be too much for that setup.
Would that happen to be RC Retro who's coming over? 🙂
😮 cannot believe the motor burned although I ran my astute with that motor and a hw1080 I still have the motor 😅😅😅

I think that one was a bit too eventful mate! Great car tho.
