Should make these again. You should get the the rere plazma.
The Plasma being rereleased is the Mk3 from the mid 80s, a much simpler car. This one is a fairly modern chassis from 2014 and slot different to the rerelease.
I race 1/12 pan cars.. that 2S battery setup is going to be WAY too much power.. modern brushless motors and lipo batteries are much more powerful than the electronics that Plazma was designed for.. we run 1S batteries and electronics on modern 1/12 pan cars.. do keep in mind that most ESCs don't work on 1S.. so you may need to get a special 1S ESC or a booster for your 2S ESC.. 🖖
Awesome car and build! The Plazma LM (Le Mans) kits have a longer wheelbase and fiberglass t-plate for the rear suspension. The longer wheelbase is more scale for the Le Mans bodies which came with this kit (Porsche, Mazda, Toyota, Jaguar). Kyosho also released a Plazma kit (about the same time) which was for 1/12 GTP racing. Same front suspension, but short wheelbase with no T-plate in the rear. The regular Plazma kit was made for carpet racing against other similar GTP cars of the time. The Plazma LM kits, with the factory painted bodies are some of the most beautiful 1/12 kits ever released IMO. The scale look is incredible. Can’t wait to see you running this car in the spring. One last thing, most people run these with single cell LiPo’s and electronics. Running this on 2 cells may be a handful for traction… Happy New Year & thanks for all you do for the RC community.
Definitely thumbs up on this build, Kyosho has the most beautiful builds!!!
Wow, that is one sexy little chassis, especially with all the red bits!! And a 962C body? DAMN!!!!
Awesome build Keith i knew that motor was perfect for your build as soon as you showcased the kit😅
That looks awsome, and pre finished body 😮 im all about that haha. I may have to see what its like when it gets rere’d later this year. Im not able to have a lot of shelfers. But that does look a good build
just watching this as I build my Tamiya Porsche 956, looks like I will be buying another pan car, that chassis is amazing! and that motor is a real nice touch
Happy New Year buddy and what a kit to start the New Year with! Chassis looks gorgeous with the carbon and red accent parts and the motor in carbon just finishes it off! By the way I have the same Orion Vortex ESC and motor package in my TB01 and it flies for a 19 turn, I think in that pan car it will take off! lol
It came out great Keith! That motor is perfect for it.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this car. That rear suspension pivot is a perfect example of Kyosho’s over engineering, and is really neat
I just built the Porsche 962 Plazma a couple weeks ago. This is one of the most amazing cars of all time. I had this car a few years ago. It drives better than most AWD touring cars. You can push it and it’s extremely stable and wicked fast. My new one is now a shelf queen but if you drive it, recommend a nice brushless set up and an AVC (it is rear wheel drive 😂 ) . Plazma LM new in box is extremely rare.
Awesome! Love the pink. Sweet chassis!
Cool ass little car it is setup exactly like my TRF101.
Good looking car can’t wait to see the run footage
Awesome car. Thanks for showing Keith.
Yeah that things cool as. I have picked up the new one they released its a Plazma Mk3. It would be cool if it came with a body like that car has in style wise but they redid the original series a-2 body which was apparently excellent for racing back in the day. Certainly a cool car mate.
Wicked kit! Didn't know it existed, love it 💯
Very cool little pan car, the chassis looks fantastic. The Pepto pink body needs some help, I am sure it will look better with the decals on it. It is a little too pastel pink pink for my liking, I prefer the brighter, bolder pink but I am sure with the decals on, it will look a lot better. I am glad to see you back to enjoying a build and you sound happier too! Take care Keith and I will be looking forward to the next one!
Really great to see a build
Lovely!
Love the pink body, it looks great.
Looks awesome with the red and carbon bits. I have 2 of these, except they are basic (means FRP instead of carbon), a 962C 'racing' and a Mazda 787b 😊 Runned with a 21.5T Justock and it was quite good (for a 2WD on asphalt. Happy New Year 🎉🎆🍾
Man, sweet car. I like it. Good vid, I was watching while tooling a bit with my RC's. (CAD and 3D printing to be specific).
Dude nice keith. Thanks for sharring. Happy new year and a hello from ferntreegully melbourne australia!!
It's a great looking chassis indeed. Sounds like the new driveway has really opened up a whole new world of opportunities. Thanks again!
Happy New Year! Nice kyosho. Now you need to build an on road track😊
What a great car! Thanks for sharing!
Dearest Keith 😊 Happy new year❣️ you just have the coolest stuff and thank you for building them ❤
#First...!!!
I see the vid before you but don't do the inane "first" stuff
what did you win?
My father in-law just handed me a Nikko Brat today. It was my wife's from when she was like 10-12. From what he told me, he deduced that something is wrong with the chip for the radio. He says it turns on but the wheels do whatever they want. No idea if this battery will charge 🤷🏼🤣
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
lol,bist du ein fisch
Congrats to the winners! That’s awesome Keith! Really cool what you do with the give a ways! 😊 happy new years!🎉 although I didn’t win this year, thanks for the opportunity Keith.
That is great.
Nice build Keith - brought me down memory lane. Here's some background history on the TXT-1 that I think you'll appreciate. The TXT-1 was co-designed by Kevin Hetmanski who was an editor for RC Car Action magazine from the mid nineties to the mid two thousands. I worked with Kevin at RCCA for nearly a decade - great guy, awesome fabricator. He was our go-to guy for anything monster truck related. Tamiya reached out to him for help designing the rig that would replace the failed Juggernaut. Kevin worked with the Tamiya engineers to create the TXT-1 which was revolutionary at the time. Unfortunately, Tamiya wanted to retain as many components from the original Juggernaut to save money. If Kevin was given card blanche, the TXT-1 would have been a completely competition ready monster truck that would have set the standard for many years to come. In the end, the TXT-1 was a compromise that was good enough for Tamiya. As an ohmage to Kevin, Tamiya printed HB Racing on the window decal. HB Racing stood for Hinge Boy Racing - Hinge Boy was Kevin's nick name that somehow stuck because he liked to fabricate scale doors and hoods on RC cars that opened just like real cars and trucks. He was given this nick name by the late and great Chris Chianelli who sadly passed away in 2009. Just thought I'd share this info with you since you're a hard core Tamiya collector. Cheers!
I'm glad you and David will be able to share a special moment and build these together. I"ll be back up in the Spring for some Hornet EVO racing 👍
Hi Keith what a fantastic gift from ari I look forward to seeing you build it and cast you opinion on it, that yokomo looks the business I love that chassis damper
Always thumbs up! I have always had ZERO interest in a Hornet or Grasshopper but this Hornet actually looks better and looks like it would actually work, maybe one day I will get one if all the companies stop releasing vintage re re's haha.
Beautiful paint A+
Excellent to see you get that MX4 chassis - I literally bought a similar chassis off buyee today. Unfortunately it does not come with the nice hubs and driveshafts that you have there. So on with the hunt for original parts on the bay or more sourcing on buyee to get a bargain 😉 happy new year!
Awesome gift from Ari and a cool chassis. Great that David got gifted the Hornet Evo also. 👍
Lovely gift from Ari, everyones getting the evo from santa, but not me 😭 and i was a good boy all year 😁
Nice present
What a nice gift from Ari 🎁👍 Take care ✌️🤝
Very nice of Ari to do that. I have a Hornet Evo on the way from Amazon. Looking forward to getting it. I do not have anything Yokomo in my collection. Or Schumacher now I think of it.
Nice, Great deal Keith I am sure that evo is gunna run pretty sweet on the RC Icons Raceway haha.. Good freinds man thats clutch.. Hope your Holiday was awesome bud.. Thanks for sharing. MX4 is gunna be sweet too can't wait to see them all done up..
You are going to enjoy building the Evo, it is really neat to see how they crammed all of that in there and made it work! The MX4 looks really nice! Ant CF chassis makes things look even better though! Take care and I hope you and the family had a very merry Christmas and wishing you all the best in the new year!
Nice...... Ari did ya good.... and an MX4!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!
