Really not a great business owner if you do business with them. I've had 3 pieces by Trax and each time, their employees were unresponsive after funds were sent. First time, I assumed it was cuz it was a stock piece listed on their website, kept trying to rationalize it until my last transaction. Never doing business with them again. Prices were stupid high compared to literally any other jeweler. He is literally a social media personality and his employees, according to my friends who have shopped IRL, "only give a **** if they can look you in the eyes".

This process is used all the time with companies who do not want to hand make them . These are casted and molded , this method is weaker than a handmade Cuban link look up the process

You do not divide it by 0.585 to get the weight of the gold. You multiply it by 0.585 to get the 14k weight. 160x0.585= 273 dwt... that's more than your original 160 dwt. That's something someone working with gold all day should know. And 14÷24= 0.583, not 0.585 but i don't know if there's a reason you use 0.585 instead.
I was trying to do the numbers in my head and was like hold up this ain't adding up 😂
He already has the pure gold at 160. He divides by .585 to get the total weight that it should have.
You would multiply if you had the total weight and wanted to know how much gold.

That's how u guys do it! Ur in the big leagues bro! I'm used to small time casting at home in a studio. I don't live in nyc either, where u have a whole industry for jewelry manufacturing. I print my own waxs, and cast them too. There's small shops around here that would cast n finish for me but they charge entirely too much. It's alot cheaper to make everything myself and I don't have money going out to tons of places other than my metal and stone suppliers and I try to buy what I can when the market is good, especially stones. I love ur work and what u guys do. I'm coming soon to GIA to become a gemologist in the fall, definitely coming to say hi!
