I found out the reason why the narrator says that the other cast members had survived: the Big Green dub movies were released completely out of order. For example, the Dead Zone was released as the 11th movie in their series, while the History of Trunks was, like, the 8th or something. It makes absolutely zero sense, and they tried to make it seem like there was no correlation to the future or time travel or anything, since the actual DBZ series was not dubbed by them (only the movies).
