I haven't heard these songs for a long time, but the youthful exuberance, song dynamics, and beautiful vocals takes me back to when music had energy, life, and excitement to it. Like going to a party in college. So much fun. Love them! I see why Kurdt did too.
I remember having to babysit on New Year’s Eve 1993 so couldn’t go out...not so bad,mtv played this full show that night! Breeders, cypress hill and nirvana! Best New Year’s Eve ever
They were on tour with Nirvana at the time this was recorded. I saw them three nights earlier in St. Paul, MN. The lineup was Nirvana, The Breeders, and Shonen Knife.
The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, Silversun Pickups, She Wants Revenge, BRMC was cool few 21stCentury bands... But? They were just ripping off early-mid 1990s sound. But they did great job
I bought a bootleg copy of a Nirvana show on VHS. I didn’t know but it was taped over the Breeders concert which was left at the tail end of the video. I kept fast forwarding and rewatching the Breeders because they were more interested than the Nirvana show. It was the first time hearing No Aloha and Divine Hammer. Been a fan ever since.
Saw this great band twice that year with Nirvana, and opening band Half Japanese. Saw The Breeders again in 2018, and recently (9/20/23). The are still killing it and bring those great early 90s vibes and nostalgia.
I consider myself very fortunate to see the breeders open for nirvana in bham Alabama when i was 14. I was right up front on the rail (general admission). It was loud as a mofo just like i like it. Both bands kicked ass
I've never heard or read any interview of hers where she claimed she was the pixies, she's always said she just didn't enjoy being in the band after a while and went to do her own thing. People injecting their own weird conclusions into that situation is just strange.
Yeah I don't think she ever proclaimed to be the star. She just got equally as much attention as Black Francis. Probably more due to being female, talented, hot, and quite mesmerising in general 🤷
The Cannonball bassline was the soundtrack for the year 1993
great video! Kim Deal rising out of the disbanding of the Pixies like a phoenix
what?
totally agree

great line up
Saw them on same tour in Birmingham on my 15th birthday. Memories.
Fkcn' awesome
Fucking A
saw that tour in tampa, what a great show
I guess no one caught Dave from Nivana wearing the same outfit as the Breeders drummer?
What a great time!! 🤓🥰🤤🥳😩
I had never noticed it until now!
That's one of the greatest things of that time: The camaraderie among the bands.
Think grohl had leggings, breeder didn't. Not sure, i remember seeing that in the 90s and remembering these guys are total badas$ MFers!
One of the most unique bands of all time.
Last Splash evokes the true feel/sound of early-mid 1990s.
How it was be a teenager in America 1991-95
True dat
the early 90’s was so different from the mid and late 90’s.
The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, Silversun Pickups, She Wants Revenge, BRMC was cool few 21stCentury bands...
But? They were just ripping off early-mid 1990s sound.

@@jasonpeters9716 i feel like the strokes sound like bikini kill who sound like the ramones.
@@louiscampos9606 Just watched Doc on Kathleen Hanna
When MTV was an actual music channel
if i can't breathe anymore, let this be my last breath
I miss the 90s terribly.
And I especially miss seeing live music with no cell phones in the air.
I saw them on stage that very year, 1993. I was 25 back then and by far the oldest member of the audience !
Wow I had a VHS tape of this back in the day and played it over and over. Also had Nirvana and Cypress Hill. Haven't seen this in years!!
This was the opening act for Nirvana's Live and Loud
Aaron Gentry and cypres hill
No they was.
Oh yeah, with Anthony and Flea from the RHCP in drag. Rowing a boat. "Your mother is a pet shop boy" "Your mother played keyboard in Depeche Mode".
Oh wait....NO PHONES???!!! ... what a beautiful sight.
If you look at the drummer, you can see that Dave Grohl and him wore the same stuff that night!
The Breeders are a sunny day and smile on your face in a jar💜
If there is a God watching can she hit the reset button to 1990 please

I love how Kelley would wear skirts and dresses on stage from her defense contractor days. Unexpected.
Kim & Kelly Deal: The ultimate Rock Chicks!
The best decade in music.. Kurt and kim could be a great couple not only in life but also in creating great music 🇵🇭
Yes i wish Kurt and Kim got together
Does Kim Deal not have the sweetest voice ever?
They sound as if they're speaking their own language
Seen them open for nirvana where I lived in Virginia in Nov of 93 badass show
I love to see the whole crowd pogo like this👌
Those women are two very beautiful sisters♥️❤️🩹💔♥️❤️💞🫀🫀🫀💟🕤☠️☠️

Love the way she sings off beat!
Kim's voice is velvety
How I miss 1993.....
90s were amazing.. real music
That look on Kim’s face…. beautifully mesmerized
Happy New Year 1993, Seattle!!!
Thank you ! I’ve never seen their last tour with Nirvana . They sound awesome ❤️ Kim is so awesome !
At 3:17 Kim told the crowd to be quiet.
In a cute and lovely way.
What a goddess...
Vegas Martino Kim's so adorable!
"MTV Live n Loud"
Geez they are incredible
That singer is lovely
I remember where i was when i saw this in mtv..... great set.... i was 13
Amo esta banda

This is most cool. Thanks for uploading.
Tremendo concierto fue aquel 1.993 MTV para entonces terminaría con broche de oro Nirvana. Gran recuerdo los mejores clásicos del rock

Crowd obviously ready to explode waiting for Nirvana

Kim deal was the real rockstar all along
Thank you for this!
love you kim and kelly!
Pearl Jam was supposed to play as well but flaked out and Nirvana said fuck it and extended their set to make up for it.
You can’t mosh to Divine Hammer but they’re trying
Whoa that audience wtf
I was born 1990, way too late for sure
I hate whats happened to MTV
This video is six minutes. What are they talking about most complete.
Only two songs...that's harsh.
More kick drum!!
stephan bonnar on drums
Jim Macpherson
I've always thought the same! Glad to hear someone else thought that
The sound was so aweful at this 😂 how did MTV think the pier would be a good spot to have a big new year’s show?
Is there a full show on the internet or in torrent? great performance of the band, not to mention Nirvana that was epic.
They must have prohibited the use of phone cameras that night.
In 1993?
And look at the crowd not one single person recording shitty, shaky footage on their phone.
because no one had a Cellphone back in the day
The good ole days
@@ucopiedyibo1959 Yeah, but at least us "boomers" were around back then to see this shit first time round :-)
sped up divine hammer
kim's high as a bat
Oh you should see her in the video recorder at the Pinkpop festival. 😅🤣
Kurt why you left?
Did Dave Grohl used the same clothes that their drummer? (Sorry, first time I saw and listen to The Breeders)
It looks like it. His name is Jim Macpherson. Go check out Last Splash by the Breeders. It’s an incredible album.
@@Bellocks1 Sure man, I loved this performance, thanks to Nirvana I got to know a lot of good bands
Pablo Conchetumare me too. And I’m still finding them out to this day. Shonen Knife for instance.
@@Bellocks1 Dude! Thank you so much for the recomendation, I've listened to the album twice and I already loved it. Thanks!
Love their Conan appearance. It was Conan, right??
How did she get that sound out of that acoustic?
heh. cool
Last Splash is better than Pixies 2nd best album.
Doolittle still #1 tho
It rivals Bossanova
Kim looks like she loves the audience and wants to make out with them
I consider myself very fortunate to see the breeders open for nirvana in bham Alabama when i was 14. I was right up front on the rail (general admission). It was loud as a mofo just like i like it. Both bands kicked ass
What are Flea and Kiedis up to?!
They inhale instead of sing
why did kim think she was the pixies when she was really rhythm section and background vocals?
I prefer Kim Deal than Frank
Pixies is not as good without Kim tbh
I've never heard or read any interview of hers where she claimed she was the pixies, she's always said she just didn't enjoy being in the band after a while and went to do her own thing. People injecting their own weird conclusions into that situation is just strange.
