The most important thing about scuba diving is that you do it safely. And that is what Safe Diving is all about.
On this channel, I will discuss all aspects of going underwater from equipment advice and techniques to the little things like what to pack in your bags for a dive trip.
My entire professional career has been spent in and around the scuba diving industry and travelling to diving destinations both warm and cold.

+1 for Subnautica as far as underwater exploration. As far as encouraging the next gen divers: I just got my OW and Nitrox a few weeks ago and am in my late 30s for context. My wife had been bugging me for years to get it but I was always more into off-roading/backpacking. We started looking at live aboard boats, a lifestyle that is made easier if you scuba. It wasn't until I read a couple articles on using diving as therapy for Combat PTSD that I really made a concerted effort to get certified. I did some try scubas in the past but it was very very mild. I will say after a weekend of dives, it is the most relaxed and at peace that I have felt in a really long time. Needless to say I'm hooked and am my perdix ai is on its' way. I bring this up because scuba diving is potentially an extremely valuable, yet possibly untapped therapy resource for people with anxiety disorders.
As far as the rest, I think it might be a generational/culture hurdle. Dirt-bikes have been in decline for awhile now as have many hobbies requiring a lot of technicality and effort for proficiency. I think they are niche hobbies that many get into because they know somebody who does it. Additionally if you're landlocked, your chance of exposure is severely reduced. I won't get into the whole business analytic side and bore everyone; Shooting for the moon here, but having artificial dive areas I always thought would be a smart idea (like the indoor ski resorts, indoor skydiving, indoor mountain biking, etc) to reach untapped markets and provide opportunities for people to at least get some certification without the travel requirements.

Subnautica is probably the main reason I started diving, got it back in 2016 and started getting real diving videos in my TH-cam feed. Took about 4 years but I'm finally diving myself and I love it.

I would suggest that gamers with an interest in underwater exploration check out Abzu, Subnautica and Shinsekei: Into the Depths.

Abzu is also a simple diving exploration game. Slightly cartoonish art style, but still beautiful and has relaxing music.

Thanks for the video. My son plays a little bit of video games, as much as I don't like them. He loves the water, so this might be just the ticket to start his interest in diving.

Gotta do something, now that Mike Nelson and Jacques Cousteau are long gone.
