George Michael is the lead singer of Wham.
One of the best male vocalists of all time imo even though I wasn’t particularly into this style of music back then. His talent was undeniable though. He has many songs solo and part of Wham

    It's GEORGE MICHAEL!!!!
If you don't know him and his voice then I don't know what you've been doing with your life.

@@SephPlays I can't tell you what you've missed, since he's served many different genres, except synth pop or rock. I would recommend Spinning The Wheel and Freeek, as other and more popular tracks might be too cheesy for you.

Wham Rap is one of my favourite Wham! songs. You should watch the video that accompanies it. And yes, George did the high notes. George did most of the backing vocals on his records, as well as for other artists like Elton John and David Cassidy, to name but a few 💜

The lyrics to most songs are important, so keep listening to them

"DHSS and filling out B1, B2" is all about getting unemployment benefits (and enjoying life). A song that fits the rough economic times of the 80's. High youth unemployment back then.

You should listen to Erasure. They are a synth group with Vince Clarke who used to be with DM and Yazoo. Andy Bell is Erasure's singer with an amazing vocal range.

George Michael and his high school buddy Andrew Ridgley decided to form a band. I think they were still teenagers when they recorded this. I think this is their coming of age song. LOL! Their other song off their first album is just as fun. Check out Club Tropicana!

at last - was there nothing George couldn't do? this song is rarely appreciated /reacted to and is up there with the best rap productions. Grand Master flash, one of the founding fathers of hip-hop said the first line of this song 'hey everybody take a look at me, ive got street cred- ib- ility' is one of the best lines in rap (as if George needs any other endorsements...)

I think you're thinking of Barry Gibb.
What a shame that this was your introduction to George Michael. This record is so camp. He matured a lot as his career progressed. Better options would have included "Everything She Wants," "Careless Whisper," "I Want Your Sex," "Freedom! 90," and "Fastlove."

Not really the best representation of Wham 🤣🤣
Wham had a lot of great songs (this was not one of them IMO) but George Michael as an artist was an absolute talent, genius lyricist with a gorgeous, gut wrenching voice. A few of my faves are Kissing a Fool, Praying for Time, One more Try, Fastlove, Moment with You. And "Freedom 90" is a must see video. Hope you decide to delve into his music and Wham's.
