THANK YOU ALL for your INCREDIBLE comments and ALL your support on this video :-) Sending you ALL an abundance of love and happiness from right across the Emerald Isle XXXXXXX
Hi Lyn, fingers crossed 🤞 you can save that beauty. Our partridge breast collapsed a few times. In the end we potted up a few babies as insurance. Keep us informed of how you get on 😄👍🏻
Oh no! Luckly you noticed it in time! I'm sure it will be ok and it will make new roots. It could be hard to put it in a comfortable position in the pot, but I'm sure you will be able to save it. 😊 Have a wonderful week, Lyn!
Peal off the bottom couple of green leaves right above the dried section of the stalk. Make your cut right there, right through the non dried out white stalk. Use a new razor blade. Let the razor cut the plant - don't crush the stalk as you are cutting. then leave it un-potted until you start to see roots growing. It will probably take 3 weeks or so and the end will dry out which is fine. That is how I saved my Aloe variegata this year when mine started to rot at the bottom. You wont loose your plant. And from the looks of it you could probably divide and make several plants if you wanted. Enjoy, from Ohio - Shawn
Oh no. I do hope it will resprout roots but I bet it will. It might be an idea to remove the flower spike so that it doesn't waste energy on seed/ Thank you for sharing and happy growing. xx
It's a pity Lyn for such a beautiful Aloe to finish up with rotted stem! The good thing is that you managed to cut out the rotted part to save it! Saw update before this video! Thanks Lyn for the information in your videos! Sending you lots of love and wishing you a wonderful afternoon Lyn and Hans!
It was such a relief to save this big old Aloe variegata, its an oldie haha, thanks so much Sylvia for your wonderful comments and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Malta for a sunny afternoon XXXXX
Its a shame its snapped, but looks like you will be lucky, I think you have a very good chance of it re-rooting. I've had similar problems with Aloes before and they have rooted again. Its good that the rot hasn't spread too far. I look forward to your update. I'm currently waiting for my Aloe variegata to flower.
With your knowledge of succulents I'm sure you will find a way to rescue it ... I would hate for you to lose it after all these years ... Keep us updated on its progress & good luck with it ...
Oh no :(( fingers crossed it will recover Lyn! I think my plants are feeling a bit neglected lately! I have been so busy. My melocactus rotted completely and I had to clean up mealybugs on my gymocalcium and a few other plants. Hopefully I will be able to give them more attention in the coming months! I just can't wait for the spring!
hai Lynn! always sad to see when one of our babies are dying. I think seeing two plants on the top. I shoot separate those and let it dry for at least two months .It works for me. Sometimes i end up with more plants after a disaster. Have a good day xx
Have you considered a different soil mix? The mix it was in looks very rich, I usually use a very rocky mix for aloes. A piece of rose quartz near by might help as well. Good luck!
Maegra I believe that crystals have energy that assists plant growth, my collection has a lot of crystals mixed in amongst the plants. They also look really nice!
i have exactly the same plant and it happened to me too, base completely dried up, it actually rerooted after a while and is doing really well now. im sure it will be fine
Happened to me with my aloe vera! It rotted from the base. I remove the bottom and put it back in a pot and new roots developed. Now its doing great! =)
You have such a green thumb that I have no doubt you will save it. I was visiting my mom last week and she was showing me how her aloe had gotten so big and was leaning over the pot. She went to try and brace it and broke right off. She sent it home with me as she didn't want to mess with it. I let it callus over for a week and just put it in soil yesterday and will see if it grows roots and prospers. Have a great day.
Fingers crossed Lyn even though I've absolut no doubt that it will grow strong healthy roots very soon. It might even be a good thing that this happened because your plant will be happier than ever and find more strength. The plant certainly know why she dit that. Please don't get mad at me but that's what I think. Looking forward to see the new roots. Have a wonderful day.
That is sad that, that happened to a plant you have had for so long! Aloe's are tough and there shouldn't be any trouble getting it to re root. I would remove the flower stalk so energy isn't going to the flowers. I think I would remove some of the lower leaves also to have more stem to bury for more places for roots to pop out! Best wishes on your aloe rooting journey!!
What a shame! Fingers crossed it will root again for you. You need to build some kind of frame to hold it up. It's such a beautiful plant and it's a pity it grows to one side x
That's a shame but I'm sure it will re-root and keep on growing. The same happened to mine in the autumn but it seems to be doing ok so far. Best of luck with it! :-)
Darling, it´s nothing to worried about. You did perfecly the right thing. New roots gonna come in a week or two. So beautyrful flowers on it... Often Aloë behave like this! :-D With our love, nothing dies! ;-) XXXXXXXX
I think it will re-root nicely and you'll have an even better plant then, since the leggy stem is gone and it will look better and fuller. Keep us posted. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week ahead.
I am sure your Aloe will be fine in your care. Do you think, that this could be a thing that aloe does even in the wild? To maybe shoot new roots where it lands... I'm just thinking.
I have a plant that is doing the exact same thing. once I have removed the Dead root and its had time to recover what do I do next? do I have to build some kind of frame to lean it against until a new root grows as it will just fall over. Please can you let me know if there's a follow-up video
I do not think that you will have any problems with your Aloe. I have an Echinocactus grusonii that I have grown for more than 50 years and never fertilized it. I am thinking about putting it into a larger pot and using some fertilizer because it is only about 14 inches diameter.
Oh jeez I feel bad for you :( I hope you can save it! Use cinnamon on the cutting, it helps. Fun fact not so fun : I'm currently having the same problem with an aloe. Everything dried out... I cut the "mom" and the babies but I don't keep my hopes up...
You know you don't need help...lol.I think after cutting that rotten long stem,it would look much prettier.Have you thought of dividing them, then planting them together?
hello have u ever rooted em with water....i was very successful rooting my different succulants n water just don't let the plant touch water I'm sure ya knew that tho...anyways just found ya on here and like ur collection
Time for some rejuvenation. That Aloe looked already "topheavy". Variegatas grow more in clusters. Yours was growing in length. Did you cut away the flower stem ? It will exhaust the plant anyway. Once the healthy part roots, you will have a new (compact) Aloe variegata. Aloes are tough guys. They were introduced in Europe in the 18th century and survived our "livingrooms" for centuries. This is just a "flesh wound".... A bit of TLC will do.
I understand how it feels to lose a plant Lyn! I hope to make new roots to your Aloe, by the way is gorgeous flower. I also recently lost a cactus Myrtillocactus Geometrizans because my little cousin plucked some spines and has dry. I will search again to buy because I liked that cactus. Dry because It was plucked two spines? or from Another reason? Thank you Lyn, Have a nice day.

Wow!! 20 years!! Great luck
I'm sure it will recover fine in your care Lyn. You are such a ray of sunshine it's no wonder all your plants thrive in your light. Best wishes. :-)
Hi Lyn, fingers crossed 🤞 you can save that beauty. Our partridge breast collapsed a few times. In the end we potted up a few babies as insurance.
Keep us informed of how you get on 😄👍🏻
Eu sinto muito Lyn, mais acredito que voce ajustara tudo!!!😘
Oh my! Sending you all the good wishes for you and your lovely!
I hope your plant recovers...Thanks for sharing... Best wishes from California.
Oh no! Luckly you noticed it in time! I'm sure it will be ok and it will make new roots. It could be hard to put it in a comfortable position in the pot, but I'm sure you will be able to save it. 😊 Have a wonderful week, Lyn!
Oh no....let's hope you can have the same results as the last one Lyn! Looking forward to some good results xxxxxxxxx
Sorry to hear that it broke off. I sure hope you can get it to root. That is a long time to have one plant.
I'm glad to see the cut looks healthy and that your aloe will continue to thrive. 💖

I am sorry that happened Lyn. If anyone can save it, you will. Good vibes for renewal. ❤
Lynn, I'm sending lots of love and heaps of new roots for you and your Aloe, from North Carolina. she is one of my favorites of all your collection.
Ouch! I feel your pain. I know you will do your best to restore the plant. Best of luck with it.
Oh no. I do hope it will resprout roots but I bet it will. It might be an idea to remove the flower spike so that it doesn't waste energy on seed/ Thank you for sharing and happy growing. xx
Hoping the best for you Lyn! Sending LOVE! :)♥
It is sad what happened with that plant. I hope it will grow new roots and be all right for many more upcoming years.
Looks like it will do fine. Waiting to see. Good luck with it Lyn. Best wishes Bob.
The plant could not be in better hands. I am rooting for it. Have a great day

I hope it gets better, good luck

Sh.t happens😠Good that succulens have this wonderful ability to heal and regrow roots if give them chance 😊

87walker what will the rose quarts do? if you don't mind me asking:)
Maegra I believe that crystals have energy that assists plant growth, my collection has a lot of crystals mixed in amongst the plants. They also look really nice!
What a shame for that to happen on an older plant !! I have no doubt that you can save it cuz you're the plant magician !! 👍✌🏻
Good luck Lynn , love your plant videos with succulents ,keep up the great work greetings from Florida .Rich
good luck 😀

Put some Simon powder on the cut. It will stop the rotting
cut off rotting parts and divide it into more plants, try to save the leaves and grow more from cutting, hope the plant is ok! best wishes!
Bryant Chan can you grow aloe through leaf cuttings?
Darling, it´s nothing to worried about. You did perfecly the right thing. New roots gonna come in a week or two.

I hope you can re-root it like last last year.
Throwing positive plant vibes to your sick Aloe Vera friend.
I think it will re-root nicely and you'll have an even better plant then, since the leggy stem is gone and it will look better and fuller. Keep us posted. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week ahead.
