- Jerry Cantrell introduces his bandmates before performing "Nutshell" and dedicating it to Layne Staley and Mike Starr during Alice In Chains' concert at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on August 14, 2019. Dallas Green aka City and Colour showed up by surprise and joined them on stage to sing the song at 2:57. Video shared by Dallas Green on his Instagram account. The quality is not so good as it was a livestream from Instagram, so there's some glitches here and there. More Alice In Chains videos:

If you didnt know.
Dallas Greene is a legend.
Everyone here should listen to City and Colour and Alexisonfire
Absolutely
especially in Canada!!
Who is dallas green? Ive never heard of him ever. You do not forget that name.
Not as much of a legend as Dallas Green is.
Jerry's guitar play just speaks to the soul RIP Layne
Jerry is the GOAT, godly songwriter and guitarist.
I agree wholeheartedly and a pretty good singer too!
I think we all are thinking of Layne when this song plays and Mike Star, but also of Jerry for keeping this going
So grateful that he has kept going. So much talent yet unfortunately underrated an widely unknown by many. That needs to change. Cant wait for Jerry's new solo album. Degradation Trip was superb start too finish. This album wrote during a world wide pandemic & political unrest and an inserection ought to be good.
*Starr
Jerry's had it rough. Mad respect.
That solo always has me by the fucking balls man, soo deep, so serious, so personal, everyone relates one way or another.
This song always makes me cry 😢
This song brings a tear. EVERY time..
Damn, I wish Dallas would sing in the baritone range more, he sounded sick in this!
He's a super star having a good time and maybe was feeling a little under the weather that night. He's still burning through the sky at super sonic speeds cause he knows how to have a good time good time having a ball and maybe even out of control at times. He's buring through the sky yeah! 200° degrees that's why they call him mister Fahrenheit he's traveling at the speed of light. I think he'd like to turn us all super sonic. I know this has zero to do with your comment. Oops, carried away. His voice ranges though. Singing is not exactly thee easiest thing to always pull off. You can be the greatest singer ever and still have so so vocal days. Our voices can kinda be sorta like the weather. ⛅/❄/🌊/🌋
@@mr.musicmusetear7049 you’re right about our voices not always being the same, but someone like DG who has made a living and sings 90% of the time in his upper register/head voice would find that to be the most comfortable place to sing in even when sick or in off days because that’s what he’s most used to. His singing here was a stylistic choice and most likely that he had to sing in the same key as they normally do
He used to alot when he was in alexisonfire
@@mr.musicmusetear7049 I think OP meant "sick" as in "really good," not as in literally sick lol
Making the guitar talk to Layne and Mike. Thanks for sharing. I never get enough. AIC and KORN were in Virginia Beach, Virginia in July , I was there.
3:39 finally when Dallas unleashed his "inner hurt Layne voice!!" should have done it from when he was introduced!!!
RIP Mike Starr.
Ummm.... did this really happen and I missed it. Thank you Internet for bringing Dallas Green to Alice in Chains for me.
Seriously, my life is more complete.
Check out City and Color Rain When I Die Cover :)
This is too much of a reminder of Layne.💘
@Richard Skipper
Yep...I know...it's more like it's too sad 😢 😢 😢 ❤❤❤
Just let it go man
They played Got Me Wrong in San Diego and Jerry dedicated the song to Layne and Mike. Great performance, everyone sang in the crowd. Wish Layne was here. Was absolutely beautiful ;(
Do you mean when they came with Korn? I felt bad because everyone was there to see Korn plus I don't think that Jerry sang much if at all. That really showed what William's voice sounds like on his own. I feel like a bad fan because I had never heard him sing by himself before so even though Jerry, Sean, and Mike were playing as great as they have always been, William's singing reminded me of karaoke where you let them sing but inside you want to scream at them and tell them to go sit down.
Dallas Green..best musician of our time!!!
100%
Lol I'd say this is debatable, dallas green is an iconic musician and absolutely loved by his fans he has an amazing voice and good charm, but there are so many great artists I find it hard to nail it down to just dallas green.. I have all his cds btw.
Yeah I would have to disagree. Chris Cornell or Zakk Wylde but he's a great singer for sure.
Id probably put Maynard in front of him too
@@Crazyfool12 Zakk wylde? The most over rated guitarist of our time . Lol . Zakk wylde should not even be in this conversation. All Zakk does is speed shred Pentatonics and way over use pinch harmonics . he has no originality or melodic sensibilities. Jerry Cantrell is 10 times the guitarist ... and even jerry Cantrell isn’t in the league of greatest musician of our time .. although jerry is pretty awesome and one of my faves .
Just saw AIC in C. Falls, OHIO So glad we went. Recently read an interview w/ Jerry saying after this Rainier Fog tour they're taking a well deserved break.
the most beautiful voice in the world. i love u dallas
For Layne R.I.P🙏🌈✨
Forever in my heart 💔 ...
No one will ever be able to replace you, even if a beautiful tribute 🙏.
R.I.P Mike too🙏✨
Omg thank you for posting
Excellent performance. Goose bumps...
Was lucky enough to see two shows in a row on this tour.
Hell yeah!!! You rock Jerry!!!🤘🤘 RIP #LAYNE & #MIKE
damn. Jerry’s playing is so beautiful. he just gets better and better. oh, and i also love his luscious longs locks.
Magnificent performance long live ALICE IN CHAINS......
Saw them two weeks ago. V.I.P. Tix, They were
AWESOME
No matter who covers this song, no one will ever match Layne’s performance.
#dallasinchains
...but also, how weird is it seeing him sing without a guitar? 😂
“Dallas In Chains” 🤣
Love it thx
Great performance to Dallas
Very nice!!!
Great song...totally relate ....if you every went threw an addiction this song says it all
The stage lights match the MTV unplugged performance lights😭 I'm not crying.
Live long AIC, and Dallas are a beast.
What's my motivation here?

@@jennamarylou1538 AH u've seen Sludge factory. So proud of u and the boys

Gold
Does it get any better than playing on stage with one of your favorite bands? Ya, I don't think so! Cause what every man seeks to find? Is not always found, but when it is? The glory shines through and through. 😃
I went to this show. Got a couple videos, haven’t uploaded them yet. Actually I have video from The Hamilton show in April too. I’ll share...eventually.
Oh the suspense Erin. Your parents big soup fans I bet.
Gerard Mc Ginnity not quite sure what that means. I’m just too lazy to do it yet. I’ve got a folder that’s got more than a year’s videos “pending upload.” At this point, it’s def a chore.
@@erinnothingtoseehere4992 Oh, tell us more about all the videos you have that you can't be arsed to upload.
Gerard Mc Ginnity ok I see. You’re that guy. Boring, bye.
I so can feel it in your guitar 🎸 playing baby 😘💕😘💕💕😘 love 🌹❤️ u daddy
Uhhhhhh newest respect to Dallas Green!!
Jerry- diggable lead tone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it still breaks my heat that Layne is gone. Will and Dallas do the best they can and a pretty good job . but god damn I miss Layne
i was there
Fuck ya was there!! Amazing show
Rest Easy Layne.........
Also what I like about this video is Dallas starring at Jerry's guitar. Who said he sound under the weather singing ? Not true!
Dallas in Chains
Wtf i wish i was there :,(
Você é aquela minha amiga de muitos anos atrás ? Penso na minha amiga de saudades. É você ? O mesmo nome.

Dude should of been looking at william for back up. . William was looking at him like wtf dude.
They aren't playing it in the same key as the studio version!
Alice in chains was in T.o but I got no email? What the hell!
Is that the lead singer of Korn taking pictures??? Hmmmm..... Fucking awesome!
No, that's AIC's photographer, Scott Dachroeden.
@@ShirleyCobain Oh ok. lol
Dont get me wrong AIC still kick ass but Sorry not the same without the Layne voice. Seen em in NJ recently the were great but still missing Layne's soul piercing bone chilling vocals. No ome compares to him. My $0.02
R.I.P Layne and Mike
You got me right
Yeah a once ever singer
Is it too late to replace Duvall? Did I say that out loud?
Vertical video ugh
It changes to horizontal partway through
