dude i always come back here when i think music is dead...or im just feeling fucken dead inside....this is easily the best live performance anyone can give....he stright rips day old hate... ....happiness by the killo....i would have given my last dollar to see this show....his live performances are just as good if not better then most albums its crazy
@@bretthart2322this performance is cracked out of it's mind, but you're right, even Live he makes this seem like it's a rehearsal... He's bullshit. Haha
2024 and watching this for the first time .. Dallas your voice is not a stranger to me I've been a fan for decades. You're a true artist and extremely gifted and talented and I'm so glad you put yourself out there. I don't know what my life would be like without your music. Anything you sing in just in awe. You're voice is better live then on recording. Your music gives me chills. Thank you for blessing us with your presence.
Dallas cousin Nick Osczypko is seen in this video helping play percussion, piano, and synth. He played drums in Dallas’s band helicon blue and was a big part of the downtown music scene in St. Catharines. I always remember running into him at mansion house and having a cigarette with him. Great guy! I recently learned he passed away back in 2020😢 may he rest in peace! At 42:39 Dallas “this song is called…..” Nick Osczypko “Mr.Baker” this is really funny because this song is Casey’s song a song that was written by Casey Baker of sleeper set sail and Dallas Green
His cousin Nick recently passed away. And I remember finding this live performance years ago and falling in love with it! I loved when he brought his cousin on to perform with him. Thoughts and prayers are with you and the family Dallas ❤️
One of the very rare artists who became an instant favorite from my first listen. Talent isn't something you can fake in a studio later. I only wish there were more like him.
Most epic and perfect live performance. Its my favorite. These songs are even better live than off record , thats impressive. love you sir for speaking the words that describe and resonate with me.
Good Lord. Just fucking astonishing. within the last couple years Dallas green has become one of my top favorite artists of all time and this show justifies this sentiment in fucking spades. Absolutely brilliant, holy shit.
I was introduced to Dallas Green by a friend who loved Alexisonfire (music he knew I didn't like...but knew I would love Dallas ;)) They were performing Happiness By The Kilowatt, Live /watch?v=vNqXC6KAVJ8 which to me was noise and chaos...suddenly became a harmony of perfection when I heard Dallas' start singing and instantly fell in love with his voice. Fortunately he has just released Coming Home and City and Colour which I listened to over and over. Dallas Green has one of thee best voices I've ever heard, his lyrics and music are truly epic and I'm still amazed by how few people even know who he is....a good conversation has always begun by the few people I've asked/or been asked that have heard of him ;)
Whoever posted this thank you so so much. Music is a form of auditory communication of emotions not expressible in words. When words are sung there's an added layer of emotional communication not inherent in the words themselves. This music speaks to me; that's all I need to know.
I remember seeing footage of Like Knives from this concert and being hooked! I will continue to go to his concerts as long as he plays. Dallas is amazing live!
Watching how Dallas has progressed as a musician when starting with Alexisonfire to City and Colour is amazing but knowing he wrote most of "Sometimes" tracks as a teenager inspires me to just keep playing and to never stop. No musician im a fan of puts as much of emotion into playing as he does.
I have watched this so many times now! Happiness by the Kilowatt still surprises me every time and Day old hate ... just omfg. Pure love for you Dal. You have the ability to wrench my heart out but make it feel so good at the same time, I know no other man with that capability x
You shouldn't feel sick, this kind of music isn't made really for the attention aspect, the songs are really " here i wrote this for myself, but i'm gonna let you listen if you want to" but music you consider trash is more like "here i wrote this so that the whole world would like it." That being said , youtube views don't really mean anything sometimes .
Watching this in 2024. Wow… a wave of nostalgia just hit me hard.
And I missed them tonight 😢
Still my favourite period of City and Colour - his voice and his guitar. Don't need anything else.
Ayeeee we are listening still in 2023 let's gooo
Yesss
yeah!
for sure!
this and the next two records.

To think Dallas was only 26 when he performed this.
I haven't watched this in years man. I still love that day old hate is his favorite song. I always knew there was something special about it.
same i had to come back 7 years later and enjoy
I saw him recently and he played it first. Mentioned he has deep love for that song. My girlfriend sobbed like a baby XD

This is a great live. Spent many nights drinking wine in my living room watching this.
You sound like a cool person, I would do the same.
I'm still drinking to this one... still my favorite performance, and I've seen him a few times already.
@@reng.5934 i saw City and colour at a really intimate venue and it was AMAZING.
Happiness by the Kilowatt is just absolutely amazing....this version and the regular but this with the piano is just top notch
Yes !! Totally ts very raw on this video . There is one mistake in the instrumental break but it makes me love it more ❤
I still can’t believe I was lucky enough to be there twice that week. Man, I love this album.
I have seem him 20 times since and will never stop.
but did you get to meet Dallas and shake his hand, hear him say your name etc ? haha sorry, he's amazing though.

Uma das minhas favoritas tbm, amo.

I will never not love this. Years and years now I still can't get enough. Amazing my friend
One of the few musicians that give me shivers when I listen to his voice. Or just his guitar playing. This man is a true inspiration.
Anyone else watching in 2017? 10 years later and it still holds up. Dallas is the man.

words cannot expresses the feeling i get when i listen to Dallas
I can’t even believe only 400,000 lucky people have even seen this. So underrated wow. Amazing performance and artist
That's a great line, "I might forget the words, I don't know them yet. Does that make sense?" True artist.
Was that song ever completed and named?
The Bow Tie Gamer ''confessions''
I later realized, haha what a cool live show that would have been to see.
The Bow Tie Gamer I'm waiting for him to come to UK.
Saw him in alexisonfire when I was younger.
Such a talent
I worked a lot of shit out to this very albumn/concert. Thank you, Dallas.
I remember the first time I heard this DVD, fast forward numerous years, and it's still making me as deeply happy as it did back then
Mr Doxy 2020 and I feel the damn same
He is so precious. I don't know why this makes me feel like I MUST protect him..

here in 2019. just incredible
Best live performance I ever seen. This guy can make me feel so many emotions with his songs...
You are so right, I saw him live a few years ago and I sang every word to every song just pure happiness
I started playing guitar again and learned how to sing so I could play and sing "the girl" to my wife while she was pregnant.
Good Lord. Just fucking astonishing. within the last couple years Dallas green has become one of my top favorite artists of all time and this show justifies this sentiment in fucking spades. Absolutely brilliant, holy shit.
RIP Nick. His performance here was awesome. Always in our thoughts.
Just a voice and a guitar. Living proof that good music doesn't need much technic.
I have tears in my eyes , everytime I Hear him sing.
Dllas Green makes my troubles go away. If only this set could last a lifetime.
Posting the future. The year is 2024 and i just saw him last night in OKC and while he only played 4 or 5 "old songs", it was an amazing experience
He is a wizard on an acoustic guitar
he's playing a hollow body electric hahaha
hahaha
Levi McDuffie he's actually playing both....an acoustic electric and the hollow body.
If I had to choose only 1 thing to watch for the rest of my life, it would be this gig. Dallas, you're SO GREAT.

Got to see him in Brisbane at the Tivoli. Best live performance I've ever seen, absolutely insane how good he is. Thanks Dallas.
Dallas Green... the only man in the world that can make me cry, without even trying.

I've watched this like 100 times. Never gets old.
Someone else cry when listen "forgive me" or "day old hate"? or just it me?
I just found out about city and colour, and I'm in love with it!
Incase you don’t know..... Dallas Green was part of a premier post-hardcore band called Alexisonfire. He wrote most of these songs while on tour.
Dallas, If silence was canvas, Music would be your brush. Thank you so much!

Thank you Dallas for singing my song.

Agreed, I saw him play in London last month, and it was no doubt the highlight of the concert for me!
I can't believe that I am just now hearing his music, it's a lot better than most of the crappy music today.
I just love the tone he uses for his guitar playing and the keys hes writes in. Plus his voice
He has improved an insane amount since this! His voice is so strong now (not that it wasn't here). This man is my idol :)
I know your name. So very proud of you. I've been following this band for 7 years...but just opened my eyes!!
Dallas Green is such a fantastic singer/songwriter and Sometimes is my absolute favorite album of all time.
