  • The first snowfall of the season is here, and we’re taking our DIY Nissan NV200 stealth camper out into the snow for a cozy little winter adventure. ❄️🚐 The drive through fresh snow is peaceful, but the real magic happens when we arrive at this quiet little park in the heart of Vancouver-tall old-growth trees, massive tree stumps, and a blanket of snow covering everything.
We warm up with hot chocolate and loose-leaf tea (Sleeping Beauty blend), poured into Stanley mugs from our new VICBINLY Electric Gooseneck Kettle (powered by our ever-reliable Bluetti AC180). The vibe? Slow, simple, and full of winter ASMR-the sound of wind through the trees, the crunch of footsteps in the snow, birds in the distance, and the quiet stillness of winter. (Plus some old-man heavy breathing for extra immersion, ha!)
If you love slow van life, cozy winter vibes, and the beauty of the first snowfall, this one’s for you.

Velma (my van) and I did our first snow camp last month. It was great!

@@MsTikiB nice! What do you have for heat? We are looking to get an electric blanket. Also, Velma is an AWESOME name! Ours is “Pivot”!

@TheWeekenderVan I have a 12v electric blanket and a small electric space heater. I made a window cover that allows me to bring shore power in without the window being open. I reserved a site with an electric hook-up to be covered in case temps dropped significantly. They did. It got down to 16°F but I was nice and toasty inside. I didn't even have to turn the blanket on. I'm thinking about getting a diesel heater for sites without electric service.

Clarification - The window is open but the interior is not exposed. I hope that makes sense. 🙃
