The only reason why Sand & Ray were endgame, is because of the First & Khaotung ship. Because they have a very unhealthy dynamic. Ray treated Sand like garbage on multiple episodes and repeatedly overstepped his boundaries, and it got to the point where I could no longer root for them. That whole self love talk Nick had really should’ve applied to Sand as well cuz there’s no way you should continue to allow someone to treat you like the way Ray treated Sand
I loved the pairing SandRay BUT yes in the whole series .....SAND is the only character who had no character development and there was a lot of info/ history missing about Sand ...... It's like Sand was used just to give an abusive and alcoholic character like Ray some character development😅 Sand is a green flag but he's way to nice and submissive I really wanted to know the history behind his behavior

In contrast Sand was so likable it felt like an injustice that he is in a relationship with someone like ray. FK's acting was good and the chemistry was so good too so I did not want to see that go to waste. If only they made ray less abusive and more apologetic but now that I know that we feel like that because they cut it down and not because ray is not apologetic seems like a missed opportunity. I was okay with their cheating affair behind mew's back because it's not everytime you make good decisions but they should have doubled down on showing how much ray values sand and his addiction storyline than Boeing storyline which added nothing and for me it made ray even more unlikable
The reason why Ray acted the way he did was bc he was an addict, which was played out very well. & Sand wasnt all that nice as a person either when he secretly snatched the recording from Nicks phone. They were all messy, that was the story. Just too messy for me to believe some of the were actual friends, just like it was stated in the video.
Completely agree about Only Friends, I think it started out good but it went downhill, rushed and jumping from one 'shocking' event to another. Booooring, I dropped it at ep 8, I wasnt rooting for any of the fixed pairings. I wasnt invested neither. I think it also suffers from having a large cast, storylines along the way were dropped and for what? Doesnt make sense, it could have worked as a longer series tbh
WOW I agree with hidden agenda, it was really boring. But for me, only friends was really good, it was the most interesting one for me. Dangerous romance has been a bit disappointing for me until now. I don't know why but the whole thing about being "dangerous" is only starting now and I don't know maybe I expected something different from the trailer but yeah I expected more. I will still watch every week but I will miss only friends a lot more. Hopefully the upcoming series can top these three, although like I said, I actually really enjoyed only friends because it was something completely new
Same here I loved Only friends. It was interesting as hell and I loved that they weren't only good or bad. There were so many layers in all of the characters. One comment here said they dropped storylines on the way and jumped from one shocker to another, but that's not true. Yes they played one another and got revange or accted like youngster. Even Sand had his bad moments in episode 11 and 12 😂. But hidden agenda was boring to hell and had ridiculous behavior of the Leads.
I don’t think Only Friends was that bad. I give it a rating of 7.5/10. It definitely could have been better. My issues is with the writers changing the plot to please the fans. Also we didn’t get enough back story with most of the characters. I think they focused too much on certain characters. Like it would had been nice if we had a back story on Boston,Nick, Cheum, April and etc. It was too many plots they could have explored but didn’t. I was looking forward to seeing Sand letting his dad know about being his son.
I really did enjoy “Only friends” and I think it’s maybe because I don’t expect much with gmmtv shows, If it gets really good, I become surprised like “my school president” and if not, I still enjoy it, but this show did deliver on steamy parts which was mostly on the the agenda from the trailer
I have only watched Dangerous Romance and Only Friends. Might get to Hidden Agenda later. I love both Dangerous Romance and Only Friends for what they are. Dangerous Romance is really slow with a bit of drama here and there. Only Friends is messy. It is a chaotic ride and I loved it for that. I really needed something messy to watch and Only Friends came out at the right time.
It's sorta of a relief to know I'm not alone in this, because I haven't been SUPER invested either. I was following Only Friends but more out of curiosity than anything else. Hidden Agenda failed to catch my attention (and personally it feels too similar to Star in My Mind) and I never bothered starting Dangerous Romance. So... yeah.

I'll probably be convinced by you to watch Dangerous Romance and A Boss and a Babe tho. I love Only Friends because of the fantastic chemistry between SandRay and the extraordinary acting, the plot was okay but i wanted more of Namcheun and her gf moments.

I loved only friends, hidden agenda was bearable because I have 0 expectative, and the biggest disappointment was dangerous romance maybe because I was expecting to much, to me it feel so forced the thing that happens, I didn't believe the actors were lovers or like each other in a romantic way, but the recent episodes were pretty bad
I gave up on Dangerous Romance. I couldn't get over how big Perth was and I couldn't forget him as Ae in Love by Chance. The plot i didn't care for. Glad it seems that the 2 friends of the main guys are going to be a BL couple. I kept wondering when the guy from The Eclipse was going to get a partner and the guy from Chains of Heart (they also look 30 to me so i can't believe they are teens).
I haven’t watched hidden agenda hidden agenda, because I heard it was boring. Dangerous romance is pretty good I am enjoying it. Only friends, I am completely obsessed with, I understand your opinion I don’t think this show is for everyone. I was obsessed since this show was announced, my guilty pleasure is toxic/messy relationships and this hit the mark for me. I really liked Friendzone. In reality I do not resonate with any of the characters in the show, but I think because I am basically the complete opposite is why I love the show. Be my favourite, I really liked this show. It had an interesting plot and they pulled it off really well. And it was funny. Only friends and be my favourite are definitely my top 2 gmmtv shows this year.
Based on your only friends review, I also think that adding Boeing at the end did nothing else but creating havoc. I would like to thank you for this critic as it was entertaining also at the same time informational.
Hidden Agenda should really have remained hidden 💀. AouBoom was the only reason I clicked on it, I always fast forwarded to their scenes only. JoongDunk has never done it for me. I actually loved Only Friends and looked forward to it every week. I think Last Twilight will be good, I like the premise and I also loved Vice Versa from the same couple.

I didnt watch the majority of gmmtv shows this year but just from being on the sidelines it really felt like, apart from the shows that came out early this year, there hasn't been one show that *most* people enjoy. There's just been shows that some people like and that a lot of people hate. I haven't seen one person who liked dangerous romance until you. I've only seen one person happy with the way Only Friends ended. And I haven't seen anyone who likes Hidden Agenda...
I didn’t finish hidden agenda because I was so bored! I finish only friends only for SandRay and Nick. Mew and Top kind of bothered me too much and Boston was hot and acted well but he learned nothing and then it ended. I can see the idea with it but I didn’t enjoy it. Now dangerous romance definitely got me in the beginning because I love me some enemies to lovers stories but I got bored once they got together 😹 I wanted more romance from the side characters and we only got a confession and kiss at the end😴 but out of all the shows I’d rewatch this show first
GMMTV should have a separate division that does more adult world set BL series so they can hire slightly older actors and give them beliveable roles. I can't take 22 year olds playing teenagers anymore.
I totalny agree with what you said. I have exactly the same feelings about these series. Additionally, I think Perth and Chimon did a good job, despite what others say. They showed their characters in the most honest way and I am very grateful for that.
I really have to agree on this. This year I don't have any favorite drama from gmmtv. There was such hype for this year's projects and I feel like every one of them flopped. Sometimes I feel like I'm forcing myself to watch. One thing that I noticed is that they put too much skinship and too little meaning and plot. I like the older ones so much better even though we got like 1 kiss on ep 10 or 11. We don't have plot anymore. I didn't finish Hidden Agenda. I left in on ep 9, it was painfully boring to watch. Only friends was so messy and like you said not a lot of meaning, it looked more like a censored p*rn. Not a fan. For Dangerous Romance also, they could've done so much more. The plot of Kang hating that his father "gives him everything on a golden plate and that is why he bullies other students" is ridiculous to be honest. Wanted more back story for Saifah and Name but we got nothing there as well. A big disappointment! Let's see how Last Twilight, Wednesday Club and Cooking Crush will go.
I liked ONLY FRIENDS as this series got something unique in it ....of course it could have been better I honestly skipped about 80% scenes of TOPMEW ....their pairing+ scenes looked so cringy to me ...... I didn't like Mew's character that much Bro gave a 2 chance to a boyfriend he got in relationship with for like SOME MONTHS ........WAS TOP THAT GOOD MEW ?? 😂😂 if TopMew endgame was friendship .....with a hint of hope for a relationship in future .....it would have been a better ending PS : Some random guy like SAND is willing to save RAY from causing an accident while his friend MEW had prorities with his 2 days old bf 😂😂 SandRay in my opinion was an interesting pair ....Although i see no character development in SAND throughout the series :( Ray literally is both physically and verbally abusive towards Sand ...In RAY's case I do symphathise with him but his toxic + selfish behaviour towards Sand is not justified in any way ....... I hoped rather than just highlighting RAY's reasoning for being so toxic ........they would have also highlighted how he is going to change himself to be a better man for Sand ...... BUT I admit I enjoyed this pairing the most their scenes made the series more dramatic & entertaining NickBoston suprisingly had the best character development and the best ending ❤........Both characters realising just bc they love each other they don't have to accept the life their partner offers them ..........they can still hold the feeling of love and move on to become who they truly want to be ....... Boston realising his decision in life have consequences and he can't have everything he wants ( like love and friendship) in his life ......if he's not willing to compromise on his part
I really liked Only Friends, but my problem with the show is that it is too short, in my opinion is if it was longer, that would have been better, other than that, the music and the acting were great. (I respect your opinion of course)
Dangerous Romance become so boring to me. Drop at ep 9. There are lots of slomo moments and they feel soupy and their chemistry is... good but not exciting. Skinship is a struggle from chimon's side, perth gives his 100% and he doesnt recieve the same. So it just awkward Only friends was a fun watching. Didnt like that the editing was compromised because of fan reaction. But i still like the show and enjoy the ending and how ended for all characters. Hidden Agenda, didnt watxh. Joongdunk do not serve. I want joong with another actor honestly
Only friends is not my cup of tea so I didn't watch it. I totally agree with "Hidden Agenda" , I really wanna finish it since Joong and Dunk have a great chemistry, but other than that it's so boring, plus i really don't wanna be mean, but even tho he improved, Dunk acting skill are still lacking.. For Dangerous Romance, i also agree, i like it, the acting is great, but I guess I expected more from the plot, I currently stopped watching it, but I'm waiting for it to finish so I can binge watch it and skip some parts🙈

It's the first time I found your channel, I only entered out of curiosity but it caught me because I really agree a lot with your comments regarding the series, and especially how in these months the only series that caught me was dangerous romance because Kanghan and Sailom made me feel a wave of emotions definitely Perth and Chimon really blew everyone away in terms of acting, I expected more from the series but I don't feel disappointed with the episodes, I really like them, as for only Friends I would say that the plot seemed very weak and long, I would have liked them to go deeper into the friendship but in the series they went deeper into betrayal, resentment, bad friends and immoral things that It made me lose interest in the series, and about Hidden Agenda I couldn't finish watching it because I lost interest .
Only friends failed because Jojo wanted another Friendzone but with couples. The problem with that is the reason Friendzone worked was because the actors never worked wotth each other or they didn't do couple work before they did the series. Everyone knew the established couples would end up together at the end. There was no surprise at all. Jojo for some reason didn't believe in the writing. He listened ro the fans more than actually following the stroytellying. Because of this the characteriziation of most them was flat. The scriptwriter was annoying as well because he would contradict everything Jojo said. Using established couples with fandoms that only care about how they are getting together and not the story also hurt the series. Too many times the fandoms were clashing with each other online. They couldn't hear valid criticism about the acting making unbearable to even say anything online. They siloed themselves off about each pairing. Talking about how much time each character had like it was kpop. And the fact that the established pairings ended up together while the one made for series didnt shows you that he was too scared to really go there. He just put up weak barriers to keep them apart until the end. Jojo wants to make Thai version of Queer as Folk this definitely wasn't it. (even they fell flat concerning their characters) If he wants that do it independently or use unpaired actors because paired actors and their fans at GMMTV can't handle true ensemble pieces.
I found HA and DR to be very boring. HA plot is boring and frankly illogical to the max. And their acting leaves much to be desired. DA could have dwelled into more dark stuff. And is Name helping or harming the brothers? After all, he is the one to intro the escort business to them. I feel pity for the actors, especially for Perth-Chimon as DR is their first main lead couple exposure. I like Only Friends, though I think it’s more of a gay drama then a BL. GMMTV needs to learn that It’s ok for a character to be in unredeemed. Though I am a sucker for happy reconciliations. You’re right that the script changing at the end makes the mood of the series change much at the end. I think the script and the concepts presented is much better then the other 2 though.

Could not agree more. I finnished all the mentioned bls and: Hidden Agenda felt flat altho i like to watch JoongDunk on screen as visuals. Dangerous Romance with all its flaws is my guilty pleasure cuz i have loved Perth since LBC & i like Chimons acting too. But ofc theres that usual problem of "the pilot vs the actual show" & well yeah the pilot for DR promised to feed my brain with something slightly more edgy. & then theres Only Friends... oh well.. besides the same problem of "pilot vs show" it was just too messy for me, like they overdid it. I get the messy, & i can even enjoy it but only until it makes an actual sense. & this show apparently didnt. & it makes me sad cuz the cast they are all great actors, but well, hmm maybe next time.
Personally, i rly love only friends because ig i didn't have much of an expectation coming into it. So i was just rly entertained with the drama and issues brought up and i personally enjoyed it bcs it kinda feels like watching a trainwreck unfold in real time. I wasn't fully invested in the characters but the shit that they went through was just rly entertaining to watch (kinda feels like when ur gossiping abt someone and being invested despite not knowing the person). But i completely agree that the writers tried to do way to much and the story became a bit messy over time and if their goal was to create a deep story abt lgbtq relationships, the toxicity that comes with it, etc, they didn't rly do an great job at it.

But sometimes you might like a series others don't like. Usually I'm with Byul, but here I don't liked boss and a babe, found even hidden agenda better and absolutely loved Only friends and it's one of the best this year, bc of the extraordinary good acting and that's really rare in Bls in the last year. But I admit my taste changed along the way and I want more matured shows now.
I've dropped every 2023 GMMTV series half way through. Thai BLs were my first introduction to BLs, but they haven't evolved almost at all during these years. There's too much being produced with too little creative thoughts and GMMTV is the worst offender of this. Also can we talk about this trend of one night stands being the new "engineering school" when it comes to the plot. I don't like it and have a hard time suspending my beliefs that every single ons ends up in this big wonderful love story.
I cannot say I loved any of these shows. The Hidden Agenda was not good at all to me. I was so bored and over it too early on when the show premiered. I liked Only Friends and Dangerous Romance when they first started, but halfway through both, I was over it. I finished it but I have no attachments. I like Only Friends more because it gives us different pairings to look at and be entertained by. I absolutely agree that they should have fleshed out and given us more backstory on their friendship and on the individual characters. That was disappointing and why the show fell flat for me at the end. I adore Mond, but his character Boeing was just a waste. For me, these shows never had a chance since they aired around the same time as I Feel You Lingering in the Air. I have been attached to this show since they first mentioned its release a year ago. I stayed connected and anticipated when the two trailers were released. I am still fully invested and in love with it as I wait for the final episode. I am with you, I am hoping for the best for Last Twilight since I really enjoyed Vice Versa. The same goes for 23.5.
OMG, talking about Only Friends, I was LIVID that they dropped the reality show style interview thingy with the editing!!!! Of course, I know I'm watching a story with a script but giving it that style of editing felt a little bit closer to "reality." SO MANY things went wrong with the editing, they weren't sticking to the original plot, they weren't sticking to the original editing style and the whole thing just grew into a mess post EP9. It deserved at least 15-18 episodes to tell the full story, instead of making the actors work hard and dropping their parts like??? p'jojo please give us the original story in a novel, trying to put it into a 12 episode show did not work. /j
The question for me in any BL is do I care about thee characters and what happens to them? In “Only Friends” that I found interesting were Sand and Ray and this because it was the next thing I saw after "The Eclipse” where their characters clicked and the interaction was compelling for me.While recovering alcoholics is not a subject I care about, I gave Sand and Ray the time of day. . I could not give a shit about the rest off them although I have seem most of them in previous shows and enjoyed their work.. I haven’t watched all of the episodes but haven’t missed not following up. The other shows you mentioned when jammed on Friday nights premiering YT is among a lot of things I am interested in so, if hasn't grabbed me in the first five minutes...click. I have watched all of them Hidden Agenda I have watched until the end. It didn't make me want to re watched. Only Friends was to much I pushed myself to finish it . The part that of the ending I like the most was with Nik the other were predictable. Dangerous Romance they should have used the full title of the serie translated it would make more sense for international fans . But as far as it goes I like a lot and I couldn't wait for the next episode. The actors are good and director have done a good job. I'm saying this because there are many different series I have seen that even if the actors are good if the plot and director aren't good it's difficult to get a good product. The only thing that is a bit too much are the flashback but apart from that is the serie I liked the most. 😊

His usually superb acting was nowhere to be found and the chemistry with Kang was non existent. I actually really liked Only friends mostly for Sandray tbh, I was so invested in them that I had to resist the temptation to skip everyone else's scenes. I have not watched Hidden Agenda and going with this video, I am not going to.
Honestly I couldn't get into any of these 3 series. I'm picky about the shows I watch. None of these 3 interested me but I did try watching Only Friends and Dangerous Romance, I couldn't get past the first couple episodes of both series as for Hidden Agenda I had no interest in watching it.
Am I the only one who enjoyed Dangerous Romance? I just love how Sailom was written. The series just reminds me of traditional pre-pandemic BL dramas so it felt nostalgic. I know the show has flaws and rooms of improvement, but I like how Sailom and Kanghan’s communication in this series is straightforward and honest, may it big or small. Only Friends… felt like Only Fans and I just skipped some parts because only the FirstKhaotung part was watchable for me. Yeah, they tried to make a BL version of Friend Zone but I enjoyed Friend Zone so much more.
Well as for me... HIDDEN AGENDA. I watched it without expectation bec SIMM is not good (plot, script, direction, acting wise) but I didn't know it then it was their first time to act (esp for dunk and it's a title role so his daoneua is so bland whereas for joong he struggled with kluen character bec it was poorly written)..So watching HA is like me giving JD a chance. What surprise me though is to see some of dunk's new facial expression, it's still not there yet but there's a change and Joong is not strugling with his chara, zo was nicely written. Some scenes really offer some potential good acting core esp debates and stuff but sadly it was not that much, some plot writing was a mess bec it was here and there and got you question why it was at this point but I feel it's a bit better than SIMM, some say it's the same school fluff but it's not it has a good story that the script writer failed to hold on what should matter even the build up of jokezo relationship is handled well. But yea the one I struggle the most with it is the color grade like wtf it was annoying, I was so vocal abt it every ep but yet overall I find it entertaining, I actually enjoyed HA to my surprise. It was light2, JD chemistry is so in your face making you smile even if you don't know why. ONLY FRIENDS. I like it. There's no fault in acting in here everyone just delivered so well and even beyond. FirstKhao are always good and it shows beyond anyone's expectatin. What surprise me the most is MARK and Neo like I'm so use seeing them in the sidelines but when they got their main roles it felt so explosive!!! The facial micro expression of mark is so fcking satisfying. Neo too has a really good interpretation of his character. ForceBook is a bit level up of what they do, maybe the intensity was too sudden was a bit awkward in the beginning but when they grasp it well it was good to watch. What bums me with OF is the messed editing and unnecessary changes bec of feedback they should have stick to their original scenes to make it more raw. Also, the overhyped discussion of morality, unnecessary fanwars the way how messed it is when it was written as mess as it should be. Why everyone is arguing then when they can't win their battle they throw hates to the actors. Seriously!!? Anyway OF is a gem for drama enthusiast who likes good acting in all angles and forms. DANGEROUS ROMANCE. Damn. I was just sad how this series turns out. It was a let down for me. I kind of not that so into it bec the pilot teaser is a bit bland and just think it did not show it all but still I was expecting bec it was chi!!! and perth too. But damn it was as it is the pilot teaser and it failed me big time. What went wrong, is the script writing, I don't know if it is a novel but even so it seems like the writer was just collecting all the tropes anyone could think of mix and matched. I was so bummed to see scenes that was unique to other gmm series in the past but it was there like wtf copy as is. The plot seems too loose for all of them to grasp even perth and chi was so strugling with it when it was supposed to be not. The chemistry, idk I can't see it. Maybe before they kiss it was there that but after it's gone. They act like no soul as couple. They are not connected and it makes me sad. I really wanna blame gmm for giving PC this series, I felt like it's too disrespectful. It's a waste of their talent. Idk they really don't vibe with it so it doesn't give good output. But I won't give up with PC. THEY MUST BE GIVEN A GOOD MATERIAL TO WORK ON!!! Hidden Agenda looked worse than Star in My Mind, I didn't plan on watching it (glad I didn't). I was always going to like Only Friends, I also like Nick and Sand. I did like Mew's relationship expectation/philosophy speech before he got with Top, but he kinda did a 180 because he fell so hard for Top (I guess). Also, everybody didn't HAVE to kiss everybody else. I love Perth and they almost gave him a good story with Dangerous Romance. Only friends started out good but they definitely messed up by catering to fans instead of keeping the story how they planned it. It felt more like fan fiction. After episode 7 I was less and less excited about a new episode. I only finished because of Forcebook. They were the reason I started watching it because I enjoyed them in A boss and a babe. But If there is a season two I won't be watching.

1. Hidden Agenda really relied on the ship of JoongDunk to sell this series. Every MDL commentator who loved the series cannot be honest that Dunk lacks the acting skills to deliver a believable character. You can only see Dunk and not the Zo character. I can’t tell if Joong is a good actor or if Dunk is so bad that Joong looks better as an actor. I know I am biased because I don’t like Dunk for some reason. Not that I hate him. I’m indifferent to Dunk because he sound like a dumb himbo. It’s just not an attractive trait to me. As much as I want to support this ship, I just can’t so I am no longer going to force myself after this. 2. Only Friends should be Rena,e Only Fans because this series is only for fans who watch from the beginning and became vested. I am not going to watch it because from everything I have read and hearing how Jojo (who I think is an overrated director) change the series to pander to fans. This series is a huge disappointment because I was waiting for it before it aired. I was waiting for it to all air so I can binge on it. Perhaps this is why I just gave up on this series. This is just too toxic for me. I know plenty of LGBTQIA+ friends so I don’t want or need the toxic sh!t. 3. I binged Dangerous Romance and FF through a lot of the parts. I love Perth so I will go through a gluttony of punishment for him. I cannot get behind the PerthChimon ship. Chimon isn’t a good BL actor. He’s alright but dude is not good with kissing and intimacy scenes. I thought it was a Phuwin thing with the stiff kissing from Never Let Me Go but it’s Chimon. I still cannot believe Chimon stans making all sorts of excuses for his bad performances. Like he’s not comfortable kissing girls too. That’s why it’s call acting. He has to act like he’s the character he’s being paid to play. If he’s not comfortable he can have the director doing camera work on the shots. Or just do pick roles where you have to kiss and be intimate. Seriously, I don’t need GMMTV actors doing aBLs if they aren’t comfortable with it just to get shipwork out of it. It’s a huge disservice to BL. We’re in 2024, and if any actor isn’t willing to put in the work to be in a BL then GTFO. We’re no longer in Covid times where we had to settle for 2gether with the high five. We have more options in Thai series. Then there are other countries with BLs like Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and other Asian countries. We even have western BLs in the mix now.
I completely disagree about dangerous romance lol. That was one of the worst and most disappointing shows from GMMTV in 2023 to me. The PerthChimon ship does not work at all. They had zero chemistry in Never Let Me Go but i let it slide because they were side characters. They were hyped because they were supposedly great GMMTV actors but that didn't show at all in the show in my opinion. I was so sad.
I'm so sorry you found yourself so disappointed and I disagree with you almost in entirety. I did not enjoy Dangerous Romance at all, ending with rubbish kisses - I did not feel the couple worked at all! Absolutely no romantic/sexual tension. Only friends was tremendous fun! The acting of First/Khaotung as Sand/Ray was exemplary, Bosston was so naughty but good at it, Mark was delightful - I wanted him to have a happy ending but knew it wasn't good for him! Mew grew tremendously and had so much more backbone than I had at first thought. Top was great - exuding real regret for his actions and portraying real love for Mew, who made him fight for it. All their NC scenes were believable and enjoyable. Hidden Agenda was a bit disappointing, especially because I do enjoy Joong/Dunk moments when they are not acting in a series. The story was weak with only the family stories being enjoyable at the end. Their NC scene was quite good. Of course, we all have totally different views on what we watch. I'll accept yours and I hope you'll accept mine. 💙💜💙
1. Hidden Agenda = boring and bad writing. Dunk and Joong talent were wasted in this series. 2. Dangerous Romance = false advertisement. This show was the most disappointing out of the three for me. Perth and Chimon are good actors but there talent were wasted in this series. The writing and editing was bad. It seems like the show creators had an initial vision to be dark (which is why I was interested in this series in the first place) but were forced to change things. 3. Only Friends = Best GMMTV BL series of 2023 and my most favorite GMMTV BL of all time! I was very impressed by the writing and acting! Ever actor did a great job but First, Neo and Mark ❤ were the standouts! They are the actors to look out for in future projects! I was really impressed with Mark emotional depth. I want to see him as the lead in another bl series that showcase his talent. Also the opening theme music is 🔥 🔥
Beg to disagree. Only Friends is too toxic and pointless for me except for the RaySand story. Hidden Agenda shows complex characters (JoongDunk) who have deep family issues. Dangerous Romance also has complex family issues which are well scripted and resolved. I don’t get why you hate the last two series. Your arguments are weak and pointless.

The only reason why Sand & Ray were endgame, is because of the First & Khaotung ship. Because they have a very unhealthy dynamic. Ray treated Sand like garbage on multiple episodes and repeatedly overstepped his boundaries, and it got to the point where I could no longer root for them. That whole self love talk Nick had really should’ve applied to Sand as well cuz there’s no way you should continue to allow someone to treat you like the way Ray treated Sand

In contrast Sand was so likable it felt like an injustice that he is in a relationship with someone like ray. FK's acting was good and the chemistry was so good too so I did not want to see that go to waste. If only they made ray less abusive and more apologetic but now that I know that we feel like that because they cut it down and not because ray is not apologetic seems like a missed opportunity. I was okay with their cheating affair behind mew's back because it's not everytime you make good decisions but they should have doubled down on showing how much ray values sand and his addiction storyline than Boeing storyline which added nothing and for me it made ray even more unlikable
The reason why Ray acted the way he did was bc he was an addict, which was played out very well. & Sand wasnt all that nice as a person either when he secretly snatched the recording from Nicks phone. They were all messy, that was the story. Just too messy for me to believe some of the were actual friends, just like it was stated in the video.
I Loved Only Friends a lot...It showed the different relationships and the lessons everyone has to learn as we all go through life..

Booooring, I dropped it at ep 8, I wasnt rooting for any of the fixed pairings. I wasnt invested neither. I think it also suffers from having a large cast, storylines along the way were dropped and for what? Doesnt make sense, it could have worked as a longer series tbh
WOW I agree with hidden agenda, it was really boring. But for me, only friends was really good, it was the most interesting one for me. Dangerous romance has been a bit disappointing for me until now. I don't know why but the whole thing about being "dangerous" is only starting now and I don't know maybe I expected something different from the trailer but yeah I expected more. I will still watch every week but I will miss only friends a lot more. Hopefully the upcoming series can top these three, although like I said, I actually really enjoyed only friends because it was something completely new
Same here I loved Only friends. It was interesting as hell and I loved that they weren't only good or bad. There were so many layers in all of the characters. One comment here said they dropped storylines on the way and jumped from one shocker to another, but that's not true. Yes they played one another and got revange or accted like youngster. Even Sand had his bad moments in episode 11 and 12 😂.

I don’t think Only Friends was that bad. I give it a rating of 7.5/10. It definitely could have been better. My issues is with the writers changing the plot to please the fans. Also we didn’t get enough back story with most of the characters. I think they focused too much on certain characters. Like it would had been nice if we had a back story on Boston,Nick, Cheum, April and etc. It was too many plots they could have explored but didn’t. I was looking forward to seeing Sand letting his dad know about being his son.

I have only watched Dangerous Romance and Only Friends. Might get to Hidden Agenda later. I love both Dangerous Romance and Only Friends for what they are. Dangerous Romance is really slow with a bit of drama here and there. Only Friends is messy. It is a chaotic ride and I loved it for that. I really needed something messy to watch and Only Friends came out at the right time.
It's sorta of a relief to know I'm not alone in this, because I haven't been SUPER invested either. I was following Only Friends but more out of curiosity than anything else. Hidden Agenda failed to catch my attention (and personally it feels too similar to Star in My Mind) and I never bothered starting Dangerous Romance. So... yeah.

I loved only friends, hidden agenda was bearable because I have 0 expectative, and the biggest disappointment was dangerous romance maybe because I was expecting to much, to me it feel so forced the thing that happens, I didn't believe the actors were lovers or like each other in a romantic way, but the recent episodes were pretty bad

I gave up on Dangerous Romance. I couldn't get over how big Perth was and I couldn't forget him as Ae in Love by Chance. The plot i didn't care for. Glad it seems that the 2 friends of the main guys are going to be a BL couple. I kept wondering when the guy from The Eclipse was going to get a partner and the guy from Chains of Heart (they also look 30 to me so i can't believe they are teens).

Only friends, I am completely obsessed with, I understand your opinion I don’t think this show is for everyone. I was obsessed since this show was announced, my guilty pleasure is toxic/messy relationships and this hit the mark for me. I really liked Friendzone. In reality I do not resonate with any of the characters in the show, but I think because I am basically the complete opposite is why I love the show.
Be my favourite, I really liked this show. It had an interesting plot and they pulled it off really well. And it was funny.

Hidden Agenda should really have remained hidden 💀. AouBoom was the only reason I clicked on it, I always fast forwarded to their scenes only. JoongDunk has never done it for me. I actually loved Only Friends and looked forward to it every week.
I think Last Twilight will be good, I like the premise and I also loved Vice Versa from the same couple.

I didnt watch the majority of gmmtv shows this year but just from being on the sidelines it really felt like, apart from the shows that came out early this year, there hasn't been one show that *most* people enjoy. There's just been shows that some people like and that a lot of people hate. I haven't seen one person who liked dangerous romance until you. I've only seen one person happy with the way Only Friends ended. And I haven't seen anyone who likes Hidden Agenda...

I didn’t finish hidden agenda because I was so bored! I finish only friends only for SandRay and Nick. Mew and Top kind of bothered me too much and Boston was hot and acted well but he learned nothing and then it ended. I can see the idea with it but I didn’t enjoy it. Now dangerous romance definitely got me in the beginning because I love me some enemies to lovers stories but I got bored once they got together 😹 I wanted more romance from the side characters and we only got a confession and kiss at the end😴 but out of all the shows I’d rewatch this show first
GMMTV should have a separate division that does more adult world set BL series so they can hire slightly older actors and give them beliveable roles. I can't take 22 year olds playing teenagers anymore.

I really have to agree on this. This year I don't have any favorite drama from gmmtv. There was such hype for this year's projects and I feel like every one of them flopped. Sometimes I feel like I'm forcing myself to watch. One thing that I noticed is that they put too much skinship and too little meaning and plot. I like the older ones so much better even though we got like 1 kiss on ep 10 or 11. We don't have plot anymore. I didn't finish Hidden Agenda. I left in on ep 9, it was painfully boring to watch. Only friends was so messy and like you said not a lot of meaning, it looked more like a censored p*rn. Not a fan. For Dangerous Romance also, they could've done so much more. The plot of Kang hating that his father "gives him everything on a golden plate and that is why he bullies other students" is ridiculous to be honest. Wanted more back story for Saifah and Name but we got nothing there as well. A big disappointment! Let's see how Last Twilight, Wednesday Club and Cooking Crush will go.

Ray literally is both physically and verbally abusive towards Sand ...In RAY's case I do symphathise with him but his toxic + selfish behaviour towards Sand is not justified in any way .......
I hoped rather than just highlighting RAY's reasoning for being so toxic ........they would have also highlighted how he is going to change himself to be a better man for Sand ......
BUT I admit I enjoyed this pairing the most their scenes made the series more dramatic & entertaining

Dangerous Romance become so boring to me. Drop at ep 9. There are lots of slomo moments and they feel soupy and their chemistry is... good but not exciting. Skinship is a struggle from chimon's side, perth gives his 100% and he doesnt recieve the same. So it just awkward

For Dangerous Romance, i also agree, i like it, the acting is great, but I guess I expected more from the plot, I currently stopped watching it, but I'm waiting for it to finish so I can binge watch it and skip some parts🙈

Perhaps the chief job of a reviewer is to shape the review in a way that the reader can identify the reviewer's biases, substitute those with their own, and thereby extrapolate whether they will like or dislike the subject at hand irrespective of whether the the review itself was positive or negative. Again, in this aspect I think these reviews deliver the goods a review should.
Looking back, i realize my remarks mentioned only two of the three series reviewed. Specifically, the two that aired episodes within the last 48 hours. Curious. The third one seems to have faded altogether from my memory. Well, not every series can be expected to _linger_ in memory a month after it wraps up. Just the good ones.
It's the first time I found your channel, I only entered out of curiosity but it caught me because I really agree a lot with your comments regarding the series, and especially how in these months the only series that caught me was dangerous romance because Kanghan and Sailom made me feel a wave of emotions definitely Perth and Chimon really blew everyone away in terms of acting, I expected more from the series but I don't feel disappointed with the episodes, I really like them, as for only Friends I would say that the plot seemed very weak and long, I would have liked them to go deeper into the friendship but in the series they went deeper into betrayal, resentment, bad friends and immoral things that It made me lose interest in the series, and about Hidden Agenda I couldn't finish watching it because I lost interest .

Only friends failed because Jojo wanted another Friendzone but with couples. The problem with that is the reason Friendzone worked was because the actors never worked wotth each other or they didn't do couple work before they did the series. Everyone knew the established couples would end up together at the end. There was no surprise at all. Jojo for some reason didn't believe in the writing. He listened ro the fans more than actually following the stroytellying. Because of this the characteriziation of most them was flat. The scriptwriter was annoying as well because he would contradict everything Jojo said. Using established couples with fandoms that only care about how they are getting together and not the story also hurt the series. Too many times the fandoms were clashing with each other online. They couldn't hear valid criticism about the acting making unbearable to even say anything online. They siloed themselves off about each pairing. Talking about how much time each character had like it was kpop. And the fact that the established pairings ended up together while the one made for series didnt shows you that he was too scared to really go there. He just put up weak barriers to keep them apart until the end. Jojo wants to make Thai version of Queer as Folk this definitely wasn't it. (even they fell flat concerning their characters) If he wants that do it independently or use unpaired actors because paired actors and their fans at GMMTV can't handle true ensemble pieces.
I found HA and DR to be very boring. HA plot is boring and frankly illogical to the max. And their acting leaves much to be desired. DA could have dwelled into more dark stuff. And is Name helping or harming the brothers? After all, he is the one to intro the escort business to them. I feel pity for the actors, especially for Perth-Chimon as DR is their first main lead couple exposure. I like Only Friends, though I think it’s more of a gay drama then a BL. GMMTV needs to learn that It’s ok for a character to be in unredeemed. Though I am a sucker for happy reconciliations. You’re right that the script changing at the end makes the mood of the series change much at the end. I think the script and the concepts presented is much better then the other 2 though.

Could not agree more. I finnished all the mentioned bls and: Hidden Agenda felt flat altho i like to watch JoongDunk on screen as visuals. Dangerous Romance with all its flaws is my guilty pleasure cuz i have loved Perth since LBC & i like Chimons acting too. But ofc theres that usual problem of "the pilot vs the actual show" & well yeah the pilot for DR promised to feed my brain with something slightly more edgy. & then theres Only Friends... oh well.. besides the same problem of "pilot vs show" it was just too messy for me, like they overdid it. I get the messy, & i can even enjoy it but only until it makes an actual sense. & this show apparently didnt. & it makes me sad cuz the cast they are all great actors, but well, hmm maybe next time.

So i was just rly entertained with the drama and issues brought up and i personally enjoyed it bcs it kinda feels like watching a trainwreck unfold in real time. Usually I'm with Byul, but here I don't liked boss and a babe, found even hidden agenda better and absolutely loved Only friends and it's one of the best this year, bc of the extraordinary good acting and that's really rare in Bls in the last year. But I admit my taste changed along the way and I want more matured shows now.

I've dropped every 2023 GMMTV series half way through. Thai BLs were my first introduction to BLs, but they haven't evolved almost at all during these years. There's too much being produced with too little creative thoughts and GMMTV is the worst offender of this.
Also can we talk about this trend of one night stands being the new "engineering school" when it comes to the plot. I don't like it and have a hard time suspending my beliefs that every single ons ends up in this big wonderful love story.

I cannot say I loved any of these shows. The Hidden Agenda was not good at all to me. I was so bored and over it too early on when the show premiered. I liked Only Friends and Dangerous Romance when they first started, but halfway through both, I was over it. I finished it but I have no attachments. I like Only Friends more because it gives us different pairings to look at and be entertained by. I absolutely agree that they should have fleshed out and given us more backstory on their friendship and on the individual characters. That was disappointing and why the show fell flat for me at the end. I adore Mond, but his character Boeing was just a waste. For me, these shows never had a chance since they aired around the same time as I Feel You Lingering in the Air. I have been attached to this show since they first mentioned its release a year ago. I stayed connected and anticipated when the two trailers were released. I am still fully invested and in love with it as I wait for the final episode. I am with you, I am hoping for the best for Last Twilight since I really enjoyed Vice Versa. The same goes for 23.5.

OMG, talking about Only Friends, I was LIVID that they dropped the reality show style interview thingy with the editing!!!! Of course, I know I'm watching a story with a script but giving it that style of editing felt a little bit closer to "reality." SO MANY things went wrong with the editing, they weren't sticking to the original plot, they weren't sticking to the original editing style and the whole thing just grew into a mess post EP9. It deserved at least 15-18 episodes to tell the full story, instead of making the actors work hard and dropping their parts like??? p'jojo please give us the original story in a novel, trying to put it into a 12 episode show did not work. /j
The question for me in any BL is do I care about thee characters and what happens to them? In “Only Friends” that I found interesting were Sand and Ray and this because it was the next thing I saw after "The Eclipse” where their characters clicked and the interaction was compelling for me.While recovering alcoholics is not a subject I care about, I gave Sand and Ray the time of day. . I could not give a shit about the rest off them although I have seem most of them in previous shows and enjoyed their work.. I haven’t watched all of the episodes but haven’t missed not following up.
The other shows you mentioned when jammed on Friday nights premiering YT is among a lot of things I am interested in so, if hasn't grabbed me in the first five minutes...click. I have watched all of them Hidden Agenda I have watched until the end. It didn't make me want to re watched. Only Friends was to much I pushed myself to finish it . The part that of the ending I like the most was with Nik the other were predictable. Dangerous Romance they should have used the full title of the serie translated it would make more sense for international fans . But as far as it goes I like a lot and I couldn't wait for the next episode. The actors are good and director have done a good job. I'm saying this because there are many different series I have seen that even if the actors are good if the plot and director aren't good it's difficult to get a good product. The only thing that is a bit too much are the flashback but apart from that is the serie I liked the most. 😊

As for the video, I was so excited for Dangerous romance but Sailom sadly ruined it for me. His usually superb acting was nowhere to be found and the chemistry with Kang was non existent. I actually really liked Only friends mostly for Sandray tbh, I was so invested in them that I had to resist the temptation to skip everyone else's scenes. I have not watched Hidden Agenda and going with this video, I am not going to.

Honestly I couldn't get into any of these 3 series. I'm picky about the shows I watch. None of these 3 interested me but I did try watching Only Friends and Dangerous Romance, I couldn't get past the first couple episodes of both series as for Hidden Agenda I had no interest in watching it.

Am I the only one who enjoyed Dangerous Romance? I just love how Sailom was written. The series just reminds me of traditional pre-pandemic BL dramas so it felt nostalgic. I know the show has flaws and rooms of improvement, but I like how Sailom and Kanghan’s communication in this series is straightforward and honest, may it big or small.
Only Friends… felt like Only Fans and I just skipped some parts because only the FirstKhaotung part was watchable for me. Yeah, they tried to make a BL version of Friend Zone but I enjoyed Friend Zone so much more.

Well as for me...
HIDDEN AGENDA. I watched it without expectation bec SIMM is not good (plot, script, direction, acting wise) but I didn't know it then it was their first time to act (esp for dunk and it's a title role so his daoneua is so bland whereas for joong he struggled with kluen character bec it was poorly written)..So watching HA is like me giving JD a chance. What surprise me though is to see some of dunk's new facial expression, it's still not there yet but there's a change and Joong is not strugling with his chara, zo was nicely written. Some scenes really offer some potential good acting core esp debates and stuff but sadly it was not that much, some plot writing was a mess bec it was here and there and got you question why it was at this point but I feel it's a bit better than SIMM, some say it's the same school fluff but it's not it has a good story that the script writer failed to hold on what should matter even the build up of jokezo relationship is handled well. But yea the one I struggle the most with it is the color grade like wtf it was annoying, I was so vocal abt it every ep but yet overall I find it entertaining, I actually enjoyed HA to my surprise. It was light2, JD chemistry is so in your face making you smile even if you don't know why.
ONLY FRIENDS. I like it. There's no fault in acting in here everyone just delivered so well and even beyond. FirstKhao are always good and it shows beyond anyone's expectatin. What surprise me the most is MARK and Neo like I'm so use seeing them in the sidelines but when they got their main roles it felt so explosive!!! The facial micro expression of mark is so fcking satisfying. Neo too has a really good interpretation of his character. ForceBook is a bit level up of what they do, maybe the intensity was too sudden was a bit awkward in the beginning but when they grasp it well it was good to watch. What bums me with OF is the messed editing and unnecessary changes bec of feedback they should have stick to their original scenes to make it more raw. Also, the overhyped discussion of morality, unnecessary fanwars the way how messed it is when it was written as mess as it should be. Why everyone is arguing then when they can't win their battle they throw hates to the actors. Seriously!!? Anyway OF is a gem for drama enthusiast who likes good acting in all angles and forms.
DANGEROUS ROMANCE. Damn. I was just sad how this series turns out. It was a let down for me. I kind of not that so into it bec the pilot teaser is a bit bland and just think it did not show it all but still I was expecting bec it was chi!!! and perth too. But damn it was as it is the pilot teaser and it failed me big time. What went wrong, is the script writing, I don't know if it is a novel but even so it seems like the writer was just collecting all the tropes anyone could think of mix and matched. I was so bummed to see scenes that was unique to other gmm series in the past but it was there like wtf copy as is. The plot seems too loose for all of them to grasp even perth and chi was so strugling with it when it was supposed to be not. The chemistry, idk I can't see it. Maybe before they kiss it was there that but after it's gone. They act like no soul as couple. They are not connected and it makes me sad. I really wanna blame gmm for giving PC this series, I felt like it's too disrespectful. It's a waste of their talent. Idk they really don't vibe with it so it doesn't give good output. But I won't give up with PC. THEY MUST BE GIVEN A GOOD MATERIAL TO WORK ON!!! Also maybe they should try to work on having a better ground to connect their cp so next time when the right material comes they can pull it off with no fault.

Hidden Agenda looked worse than Star in My Mind, I didn't plan on watching it (glad I didn't). I was always going to like Only Friends, I also like Nick and Sand. I did like Mew's relationship expectation/philosophy speech before he got with Top, but he kinda did a 180 because he fell so hard for Top (I guess). Also, everybody didn't HAVE to kiss everybody else. I love Perth and they almost gave him a good story with Dangerous Romance. Does Name have a lisp/speech issue (I've wondered that since he was in Star in My Mind as Typhoon)?

Only friends started out good but they definitely messed up by catering to fans instead of keeping the story how they planned it. It felt more like fan fiction. After episode 7 I was less and less excited about a new episode. I only finished because of Forcebook. They were the reason I started watching it because I enjoyed them in A boss and a babe. But If there is a season two I won't be watching.

1. Hidden Agenda really relied on the ship of JoongDunk to sell this series. Every MDL commentator who loved the series cannot be honest that Dunk lacks the acting skills to deliver a believable character. You can only see Dunk and not the Zo character. I can’t tell if Joong is a good actor or if Dunk is so bad that Joong looks better as an actor. I know I am biased because I don’t like Dunk for some reason. Not that I hate him. I’m indifferent to Dunk because he sound like a dumb himbo. It’s just not an attractive trait to me. As much as I want to support this ship, I just can’t so I am no longer going to force myself after this.
2. Only Friends should be Rena,e Only Fans because this series is only for fans who watch from the beginning and became vested. I am not going to watch it because from everything I have read and hearing how Jojo (who I think is an overrated director) change the series to pander to fans. This series is a huge disappointment because I was waiting for it before it aired. I was waiting for it to all air so I can binge on it. Perhaps this is why I just gave up on this series. This is just too toxic for me. I know plenty of LGBTQIA+ friends so I don’t want or need the toxic sh!t.
3. I binged Dangerous Romance and FF through a lot of the parts. I love Perth so I will go through a gluttony of punishment for him. I cannot get behind the PerthChimon ship. Chimon isn’t a good BL actor. He’s alright but dude is not good with kissing and intimacy scenes. I thought it was a Phuwin thing with the stiff kissing from Never Let Me Go but it’s Chimon. I still cannot believe Chimon stans making all sorts of excuses for his bad performances. Like he’s not comfortable kissing girls too. That’s why it’s call acting. He has to act like he’s the character he’s being paid to play. If he’s not comfortable he can have the director doing camera work on the shots. Or just do pick roles where you have to kiss and be intimate. Seriously, I don’t need GMMTV actors doing aBLs if they aren’t comfortable with it just to get shipwork out of it. It’s a huge disservice to BL. We’re in 2024, and if any actor isn’t willing to put in the work to be in a BL then GTFO. We’re no longer in Covid times where we had to settle for 2gether with the high five. We have more options in Thai series. Then there are other countries with BLs like Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and other Asian countries. We even have western BLs in the mix now.

I completely disagree about dangerous romance lol. That was one of the worst and most disappointing shows from GMMTV in 2023 to me. The PerthChimon ship does not work at all. They had zero chemistry in Never Let Me Go but i let it slide because they were side characters. They were hyped because they were supposedly great GMMTV actors but that didn't show at all in the show in my opinion. I was so sad.
I'm so sorry you found yourself so disappointed and I disagree with you almost in entirety. I did not enjoy Dangerous Romance at all, ending with rubbish kisses - I did not feel the couple worked at all! Absolutely no romantic/sexual tension. Only friends was tremendous fun! The acting of First/Khaotung as Sand/Ray was exemplary, Bosston was so naughty but good at it, Mark was delightful - I wanted him to have a happy ending but knew it wasn't good for him! Mew grew tremendously and had so much more backbone than I had at first thought. Top was great - exuding real regret for his actions and portraying real love for Mew, who made him fight for it. All their NC scenes were believable and enjoyable. Hidden Agenda was a bit disappointing, especially because I do enjoy Joong/Dunk moments when they are not acting in a series. The story was weak with only the family stories being enjoyable at the end. Their NC scene was quite good. Of course, we all have totally different views on what we watch. I'll accept yours and I hope you'll accept mine. 💙💜💙

1. Hidden Agenda = boring and bad writing. Dunk and Joong talent were wasted in this series.
2. Dangerous Romance = false advertisement. This show was the most disappointing out of the three for me. Perth and Chimon are good actors but there talent were wasted in this series. The writing and editing was bad. It seems like the show creators had an initial vision to be dark (which is why I was interested in this series in the first place) but were forced to change things.
3. Only Friends = Best GMMTV BL series of 2023 and my most favorite GMMTV BL of all time! I was very impressed by the writing and acting! Ever actor did a great job but First, Neo and Mark ❤ were the standouts! They are the actors to look out for in future projects! I was really impressed with Mark emotional depth. I want to see him as the lead in another bl series that showcase his talent. Also the opening theme music is 🔥 🔥
Beg to disagree. Only Friends is too toxic and pointless for me except for the RaySand story. Hidden Agenda shows complex characters (JoongDunk) who have deep family issues. Dangerous Romance also has complex family issues which are well scripted and resolved. I don’t get why you hate the last two series. Your arguments are weak and pointless.
