hi! i got a few questions about my application so i filmed a video talking about my stats & things like that: th-cam.com/video/cDY5Y9r5c7g/w-d-xo.html i hope it's helpful! :)
I’m currently going into community ! This video made me feel really hopeful! There is so much stigma around community college but so far I’m so happy about my choice! :) I am so happy for you!
This was probably the best planned-out research I've seen on YT regarding applying to the UCs as a transfer. You obviously went over the acceptance rates in great depth at each for CS, and then adjusted your intended major at each of your top choices based on how tough the rates were and subsequently the ability to be admitted to each of them. So recapping, you applied to the following at each of the UCs with stats related to the admit class of 2019: UCI, Computer Science; A/R 28%, 25th/75th Percentile GPA of 3.63/3.90 UCSB, Computer Science, A/R 7%, 25th/75th GPA of 3.87/4.00; Note: only 5% enrolled however. UCB, Applied Math, A/R 40%, 25th/75th GPA of 3.73/4.00 UCLA, Math of Computation, A/R 46%, 25th/75th GPA of 3.80-4.00; Note: This is a fairly new major and the acceptance rate will undoubtedly go down considerably in the years to come as more people become aware of it. It was an excellent strategy of yours to both UCB and UCLA not to apply to CS at both and probably USC. For UCB CS, the A/R was 5% with a 25th/75th of 3.76/3.99 and for UCLA CS it was an A/R of 5% with a 25th/75th of 3.87-4.00, so both would have been extremely tough. Here's a link for all those who are interested: www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major All the best on your choice.
So glad to see a fellow transfer student make one of these videos! Congrats on the acceptances! I also got accepted to UCLA and USC and I’m choosing between those two as well those were my dream schools too!
aww congrats!! Do you mind doing a video on your transfer essays for the UC system? I’ve seen videos of people doing them as freshman applicants but would love to see someone’s perspective on their transfer app!
i'm a high school senior and i didn't get into the schools i dreamed of attending (dream school being berkeley). i'm currently considering community college as to have a second opportunity. your video gave me hope and it has inspired me to work hard to achieve my goals. thank you.
Congrats, Jessica! I was a transfer student, first gen, to UCLA, too! Love your videos and the article in this week's Bruin newspaper. Keep going students!!! #stopthestigma #powertothetransfer
Cute little video! I’m currently in my junior year and I’ve already taken half of my associate credits and I’ll be going to community college (Possibly) so I can finish them.
ahhh thank you!!! :)) i completed the honors program at my community college so i just had to fill out a form. to be completely honest though, i’m not sure if that gave me priority consideration or simply made me eligible for the scholarship, cause i think some UCs choose regents scholars based on their uc application. so to answer your question no i didn’t have to apply separately, but i’m not entirely sure about the process! D:
congrats in your acceptances! quick question, do you remember how you applied for UCLA regents? did they email you or am i supposed to apply via UCLA's website?
HI! congrats on your acceptances from last year :D I have a silly question - some of the schools ask for your Intent to Enroll by 5/1. What happens if you wanted to wait and see if you got into USC?
thank you! :) that’s not a silly question at all because i’m actually not completely sure LOL but i believe that we’re basically supposed to take back an SIR if we decide not to go there anymore or receive more decisions. i had to cancel an SIR for my high school decision and it was a really simple process!
Quick question… if I go to community college for 2 years in Washington, can I apply to these schools that you applied to even though I am not from cali
i never knew you were burmese until I heard your mom said thamee I'm planning to study cc after my igs. Your video are inspiring me to get into computer science field. Can you suggest me some good ccs and which cc did you go?
i went to skyline and san mateo community colleges in SMCCD! both campuses depending on the class. lots of burmese people at skyline haha. i liked my experience at both, i hear de anza in south bay area has a high transfer rate though 😊
Congrats on the schools! I'm currently an out of state student attending CC in California and looking to transfer to similar schools for CS as well. Its funny because my dream schools were also UCLA and USC for film right out of high school lol. I really would love to go to UCB for CS. Any reasons why you applied for for say math related majors other than for computer science? Any help is appreciated! Keep up the great work!
thank you!! and whoa what a coincidence haha. i’ll be uploading a video this week talking about my uc app & major choices, but in a nutshell, i had to ask myself what i valued more: school or major. in my case, ucla has been my dream school for a while, and so not applying with cs was a sacrifice that i believed was worth it in turn for a higher chance at admission. i didn’t think i could get in as a cs major because i’m more of a well rounded student, and i haven’t dedicated much of my time to making myself stand out specifically as a cs student. i feel that those who are admitted as a cs major not only have good grades & essays, but more importantly have extracurriculars and experience that show genuine passion for cs. tl;dr, i believe i wouldn’t have stood out as a cs applicant.
@@dvyjessica That makes so much sense, and thanks for the response! I'll definitely have to think about what I value more in terms of school/major and meet with a consoler too! I'm in a different position since my major now is currently cyber security and networking and not CS.... hopefully that doesn't hurt me at all! Look forward to more videos!
@@ImLaz oh good luck then 😃!!! And can I ask which cc did u attend and the cost of one years just wondering how much does cc in California cost for out state.
hi! it's possible yes, you'd be an international student. i believe it'd be much more competitive and costly as an international student though, but it's not impossible

thank you!!! 🥰🥰 i may make a community college experience type video and include my stats there.

Same boat as you and you shouldn't be considering community College. You SHOULD be going to community College.
Accepted to Berkeley and UCLA but denied from UCSB. Sometimes these things are so random
Congratulations!! Well deserved ❤️❤️
thank you!!! ☺️☺️💓
Congrats! Hard work def pays off. I'm also a transfer to USC this coming fall, so I'll possibly see you there. Either way, enjoy wherever you end up!
ahhh congrats to you too!! 🥳🥳
