Omg I've seen this movie so many times, it used to be on HBO all the time when I was a kid. Never realized that Koga Shuko was the T1000.
I hope he fired his agent for that one.
As a fan of the game I was stoked about the movie before it came out. I thought it was gonna be a gritty movie about old school gangs fighting through NOT L.A. and then I saw this. I should have just watched the warriors again.

Truth. The original Arcade DD was my favorite game as a kid. I could finish it on one credit, and knew several glitches, even one that could make it give me a free game. How gritty it was made me think it would be like The Warriors, MAD Max, and enter the Dragon all combined...but we got this silly movie lol

Or just simply watch Double Impact, which is what the true Double Dragon movie should have been like too!
We all had that “perfect movie” imagined in our heads back then. I had the same thing going for street fighter and then reality broke my spirit.

This movie actually killed his career. Oddly enough a stand in for Brandon Lee after his passing. After this he was stuck in straight to video hell. And his performances got worse the longer it went on. Makes me wonder if the movie would have been much different if Brandon Lee did live to be in this. Wonder if it would have killed his career.

I watched this movie a hundred times as a kid. I liked it even though it's cheese. But I have NEVER noticed the Seagalian Karate on Abobo's stats. That is now the best part of the movie for me.

This is a good example of a "kitchen sink" movie: the makers threw in everything they could think of, in the hope it would work.
I FORGOT Alissa Milano was in this. But I REMEMBER having a childhood crush on this actress, and it now makes sense why I always have felt that I liked her a TON but couldn't remember from where.
One of the movies that the USA network would play at 2am and I'd stay up just to watch every time. To me, the most famous person besides the Terminator was the guy who played Gary in the Weird Science series. (He's the one without bench press stats)

Mark Dacascos is a very under rated martial artist. Crying Freeman 1997 is a great Manga adaptation with an impressive cast. Drive 1997 is an American version of a Golden Harvest film by Steve Wang. China Strike Force 2000 is a fun Chinese Action movie with Coolio.

You shoukd check out Crying Freeman staring Mark Dacascos it's a live action version of an anime movie its a lot of fun and the fight scenes are pretty darn good.
Brandon Tenold did a great review of that flick, highly recommend checking out his channel, as well as Good Bad Flicks if you haven't already.

Ok, I was a kid when this movie came out. AAAAAAAANNNND. I LOVED THIS! This movie was for me! I was the EXACT age required to think this was a good movie, and not only did I think it was a good movie, but an AMAZING movie. Mind you, my other FAVORITE movies were in order: Super Mario Brothers, Surf Ninjas, 3 Ninjas, Jackie Chan's Rumble in the Bronx, and Sidekicks with Chuck Norris. With honorable mentions of every other karate and kung fu movie I could get my hands on. But this movie was just [kisses fingers] [muah] perfect.
Mark was amazing in the movie, "Only the strong" Hope that goes up one day...if not, I'll definitely put that up if I get a chance to pick a poll option 😀

i got this movie in ome of those old 2 for 1 dollar vhs ads back in the 90s. Man i watched this movie so damn much. Never played double dragon until after that movie and decided the movie was way better lol
Fun fact: After watching this movie I noticed a particular name that was behind idea for a story. The one and only Paul Dini. Yup, the same one who wrote episodes of 90s Batman TAS.

I loved this movie as a kid! I even had a tape of the first episode of the cartoon. Tried to watch the movie a few months ago and went straight to sleep lol
I fully admit that thicc, shaved-head Alyssa Milano in thigh-high boots and short shorts is a huge reason to enjoy watching this.
The 90s was a hell of a time to be alive.
Not only did I see this movie when it came out... I saw it in the theater... and to make matters worse, I convinced several friends to come with me to see it in the theater. I never lived that one down. LOL
Ninja Power Time is definitely not a bad title. As a matter of fact I am gonna start saying that phrase whenever something of unique skill or strength is required. Usually I just say “By the power of Greyskull!” Whenever I do some heavy lifting. But “NINJA POWER TIME!!” Is much more universal to say?

O wow!!! The girl is from Rambo first blood part II. Never noticed this when i watched this film. And i did watch this film at least five times or so. I played a lot of Super Double Dragon and that why i did kind of like this one. Same thing goes for Streetfighter and Mortal Kombat back then.

Glad you got around to a Dacascos movie, even though it was- well, this movie :) His catalogue isn't exactly stellar but there's some entertaining stuff in there. My personal favourite is Drive, from way back in 1997, which is quite a lot of fun and has some genuinely great fight scenes.

It's always funny, watching a movie that postulated wild changes only a few years after it was made. Blade Runner, at least, was looking nearly 40 years into the future. While Double Dragon is certainly no Blade Runner it still expects the audience to buy into the idea that in just a few years, everything is going to be way different.
Of course, given the rest of the movie the futuristic aspects (which are now part of an alternate past) are hardly worth noticing, given the supernatural aspects and the considerable differences from believeable motivations (particularly the woman closing the door in order to get blow'd up).
Alyssa is mwah in this. When she gets up when they come under attack. Wowzers.
Watch her in poison ivy 2 she gets nude in that and it's definitely worth watching.

I wasn't going to watch this review but in the thumbnail, I was curious to see who the blonde babe was. I didn't realize it was Alyssa Milano. Hot!
Other than that, I'm glad I watched it. I don't have to see the full movie now. The zipper zinger and the commentary on the greediness of the Hollywood tour business were highlights. But now the joy is over and I'll probably forget I watched it.

I saw this movie in theaters as a kid. It came out in the initial wave of video game movies before Uwe Boll. It was, at least, better than Super Mario Brothers.
Not even Uwe Boll could make a movie this memorable.
I particularly remember how this extra muscled guy made steroids look silly to me as a kid, and that they were no replacement for actual talent at a sport. But this silly live action cartoon, DID have a few pieces of interesting lessons embedded in it. Its in-movie weather forecasts were amazing: The weatherman doing the forecast warned people of acid rain due to polluting the environment and popped out an umbrella with all the cloth melted off of it. It was hilarious. I think it may have been Andy Dick who played the weatherman now that I think about it. And as a child I also wondered, "what exactly was the postman's plan? Like even if he had fallen directly on top of the Double Dragon brothers, he still fell like 45 feet and is seriously injured. How is that victory?" I think I was 11 when this movie was out and was currently in karate classes so people using karate everywhere to solve the worlds most pressing problems made complete sense at the time, like of-course thats how adults work thats WHY were in Karate classes after all. Duh!
Oh man I used to love this movie and watching this movie recap I find that in a lot of ways I still do. It's one of those it's so bad it's great movies! Can't wait to force my wife to watch it with me... Who am I kidding she could barely get through the original Mortal Kombat movie, and refused to watch the sequel no matter how hard I tried!
The Super Mario movie has the same level of ridiculousness, even more lol

Man, the producers of this movie clearly didn't care enough about this movie to even get the names right, evidenced by the fact they call him Billy.
I love some of the games in the Double Dragon franchise. This movie is utterly stupid, but kind of fun. I love Robert Patrick. And it's got some really funny moments, both intentional and unintentional.
I even got the special edition Blu-ray with all the fun bonus behind the scenes features.
This was a fun video, but I'm honestly just slightly disappointed. There's so much to rip on in this movie, I had hoped your video would be a little longer.
