Please keep it going with Chapter 3. I watched Journey to the West and still doesn't understand all the villain origin like how you explain them. This helps a lot to understand the lore.
Lingji is a kinda evil Budda in game. Some text implied that he is the one who dispatched Fuban to attack kingdom and created the Budda heads which corrupted Shigandang. After yellow sage saving the kingdom. He took yellow sage as his disciple and took him away. Without sage‘s protection, the kingdom finally destructed. Lingji is also likely to be related to the event that people all over the kingdom became mice.
There’s also a layer of conspiracy theory stating the yellow wind sage is more of a tragic hero than a villain, knowingly or unknowingly manipulated by his master Lingji; while Lingji has knowingly permitted the tragedy of the golden kingdom to happen, as punishment of their abandoning the Buddhist beliefs. This is a second perspective of the story hidden in various character descriptions in the game. The lore of this game really is getting even better, it seems to draw a clear line between the good and the bad, but if you pay attention the world is much more ambiguous and morally grey. It’s a “black” version of the beloved myth story after all.
Thank you! The deeper metaphor reflects how those in power control those below them as the original novel was written during the Ming Dynasty and, in some ways reflected the ruling systems of that time too.
Honestly, this is so heavily hinted in the descriptions it's not really a conspiracy theory anymore. Lingji is directly/indirectly responsible for lots of the tragic events across Yellow Wind Ridge. One of them being that Yellow Wind Sage wanted to give Yaoguais like himself a place to live peacefully with humans, but that didn't last long since a mysterious disaster was soon brought to his kingdom, turning every person into rat Yaoguais. It is believed that Lingji did this, as he was shown to be discriminative against Yaoguais. In the cutscene where we meet Yellow Wind Sage in the boss stage, he said "where disparity persists, bloodbaths may arise". His supposed "madness" may be directly against Lingji's past actions and the "disparity" that Yaoguais had to face in this world. To him, Wukong dying in front of him is yet another proof of this disparity, therefore he said to the destined one "I cannot escape, nor can you", as they can both be seen as Yaoguais, born to be looked down upon.
Appreciate your efforts in putting out these lore videos. This actually had me pay huge respect to game sciene's creative ways of carefully crafting their version of how the events would unfold after journey to the west and braiding it in such a perfect manner with the existing deep myth of wukong. Just woowww i meann to anyone calling wukong is just a boss rush game these wukong lore series will definitely make them realise how much of an insignificant judgement they had made of this game. PLEASE continue with this series of lore of wukong❤❤❤❤
In fact, Lingji is hinted in the descriptions to be directly/indirectly responsible for lots of the tragic events across Yellow Wind Ridge. One of them goes like this: After defeating the giant beetle, Yellow Wind Sage was seen as hero by the kingdom and was given a highly regarded ministry role. He wanted to give Yaoguais like himself a place to live peacefully with humans. This however did not last long since a mysterious disaster was soon brought to his kingdom, turning every person into rats. Out of guilt, he chose to leave. It is believed that Lingji did this, as he was shown to be discriminative against Yaoguais (you can tell by his quote at the end of the animation). He did not like the fact that the kingdom worshiped a Yaoguai (Yellow Wind) instead of Buddha so he turned the people into Yaoguais. It is also believed that the giant beetle Fuban was brought to the kingdom by none other than Lingji himself as well. In the cutscene where we meet the "maddened" Yellow Wind Sage, he said "where disparity persists, bloodbaths may arise". His supposed "madness" could be a direct result from Lingji's past actions and the "disparity" that Yaoguais had to face in this world. No matter what good deeds you do, or how great of a person you are, you cannot defy your own identity (or destiny) as a lowly being. To him, Wukong dying in front of him is yet another proof of this disparity, and an unavoidable end to his kind, therefore he said to the destined one "I cannot escape, nor can you", as they can both be seen as Yaoguais, born to be looked down upon.
Fuban was definitely sent by Lingji, the head on his back looked exactly like Lingji's head and in its eyes was the wind-stopping pearl, one of the two iconic artifacts associated with Lingji. He placed it on Fuban specifically to counter yellow wind sage's magic. Shigandang and all the drama associated with the buddha heads are also Lingji's doing as all those heads are identical and match him. Ironically Lingji may once have been an yaoguai before becoming bodhisattva. If you read the background on Lingji you can see all the underlings of Yellow Wind curse him with names like "big bird" or "that bird man", and his depicted as having human upper body and bird lower body. When he shows his true form if you look closely indeed his legs are double jointed and not human. He may well have been a bird yaoguai who achieved buddhahood, yet immediately goes to suppressing other yaoguai to keep them downtrodden under his theory of "everyone has their own destiny and should stay in their lane", as depicted in the closing animation.
So far, I just got to the Tiger Vanguard and I think it's my favorite boss entrance. Walking up the to temple and just the overall atmosphere when you see him is sick.

Wow amazing stuff! I gotten close to the end of chapter 6 but thought I revisit the lore and explanations of previous chapters as I was confused with some parts. How you explain these characters and stories makes me appreciate this game even more. It’s not a simple story that is as clear as black and white. So much intricacies and depth to these characters! I can’t wait for you to do the next chapters! Keep up the good work!
It's confusing when they start a new chapter. Like what makes him choose his next destination, how does he get there, and what happens in the opening scene of the new chapters such a 2 and 3? Why is he loaded with arrows in 2 and why is he a statue with fat baby dude???
"fat bay" LOL!!!! Looks at that fat baby's ear, it's a typical budda ear, it means that baby is a budda in baby form! Everyone in east familar with Buddism knows it.
At the end of this chapter, Lingji Bodhisattva actually lied to us. There are two things he said: 1. Yellow Wind Sage steal the relic 2. Yellow Wind Sage cut his head off. These are his own statements, however, in the ending animation of chapter 5, you can see from Demon Bull King's memory that the relics are acutally given to the Monsters as reward by the Gods. That is a more objective perspective to me. Thus, if Lingji lied about NO.1, then he probably also lied about NO.2, he probably seduced the Yellow Wind Sage to think he had a chance to chop off Lingji's head. This is all a setup for our main character to come and defeat yellow sage and claim the relic. People may wonder why the gods want mc to gather the relic if they don't want Wukong to be resurrected. My assumption isthat because there is no way they can wipe out Wukong's existence completely, so they designed this journey for us to gather the relic and defeat old Wukong's shell, put on the headband and be their pawn again. After clear the game, you would notice every main boss we encountered in each chapter, has some sort of connection to the Gods. The reason Wukong can't die is becasue he was born from a stone that absorbed the energy of the nature, therefore he can't be truely killed, otherwise the gods could just destroy the stone. However, the Gods could control him by leading the mc to gather the first 5 relics and willingly put on the head band. Therefore, be controled again. And obivously they can't just give the relic to mc, that would be too suspicious, and we wouldn't willingly put on the headband, becasue only after we have survived many challenges, we will truly feel like we achived something, and is at this exact moment, you let your guard down. In ending 1, we let the old monkey put the headband on, andit looks like a classic hero's story, defeating enemies, and become one with the gods. This is kind of like in God of War, when Kratos finally becomes the God of War, Athena tried to use a green light to help him "ease" the pain. Those are all just ways to control.
Thanks, You are right. The deeper metaphor reflects how those in power control those below them. The original novel was written during the Ming Dynasty, and at some way reflected to the ruling systems of that time. love the contents. Although the storytelling style could do better, like those Prepare to Cry series of Dark soul.

Thank you! Yes I really like Vaativydia’s videos and want to follow that style too. It takes skills and a lot of time to reach that level.
@@Williamsweeb yeah I understand. Keep the great work bro. love your contents.
Hello, is your video written by AI ? The transitions feel unnatural, so do the numerous repetitions in the text. Otherwise, the content and information we are looking for are all in the video so that is not much of a problem
+1 sub
Thank you!
bro this A.I voice is soooooo garbage lol
