”Intro Music by Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio”
Thanks to Jesse for making the intro and graphic for us to enjoy!!
The engineers and some of their designs are not good for the consumer at all - no oil/transmission dipstick - and whatever else - the tire sensor is a joke and etc
The owner needs to keep the cab clean. 2 year old vehicle and garbage everywhere in the cab. Sheesh.
That's a baby truck. They took it out of the factory too early! D:
just 5000 miles change interval for that premium synthetic oil? what a joke.
This is the first time I heard the term "Lizard Lotion." It will now be my go-to phrase in place of snake oil. Thanks for the chuckle!
I know you are right. 50 years ago I was working at a cab company changing oil and I forgot oil on one checker cab with 250 straight 6 chevy engine a put it in the lot for pick up and then I realized it had no oil, so I filled it and it was in the fleet for 200,000 miles. so oil does cling and interference like oil cap off and dipstick out is a good idea. Us humans sometimes need helpful reminders.
A million TH-cam channels and a billion videos to choose from, and I'm watching an oil change. Life is good.😊❤❤
I cannot help but notice most of the trucks you work on are FORDS.
I love learning all that Ray teaches. As for the prefilling... In this video, Ray highlighted that his container was dirty. Unfortunately, that is not an argument against prefilling. It simply means that Ray needs to keep his equipment clean.
Only Ray can make changing old more interesting than watching paint dry.
Finally, an easy job after all the chaos we've seen during the week. That Rustang must have drained a lot of energy from you, Ray.
On that shield Ray the 2 bolts in the back stay in to support the shield and then you can slide it out. The shield is slotted. I'm sure you knew it but over looked it. Great video Ray. I think the clamp was for holding the shield from another mechanic.
Probably the most interesting oil-change video ever! I like to see check-arounds on new-ish cars too Ray as it updates what's been happening.
My dad had the habit of draining a cooling system or oil and leaving the car in the unfinished state. He took the time to place the cap over the hood latch. However this never stopped my mother or sister from replacing the cap and driving the car, which cost two engines.
After a hell week or two like you've had, I always found it helpful to pick a day when the heavy workload is done and we would spend a majority of that day reorganizing tools and cleaning the shop. Having everything clean and in it's place is a psychological and emotional more pleasing work environment. Working in a disorganized dirty shop drags you down!
After the hella week you had with some vehicles this is exactly what the Doctor ordered. A nice, easy oil change to bring life back into perspective.
Glad to see a Maverick on your channel. I have a 2023 Maverick Lariat 2.0L AWD and agree completely with your overall assessment of the vehicle.
I’ve got to learn to watch all of your videos. Usually I pick and choose based on vehicles I own/want to own. It just dawned on me you have great info in all your vids. The maverick video just came on while I was in the other room and I came in to hear you explain how electric parking brakes work. My mom’s Corolla has the same thing and I always wondered how it worked. Thank you!!!!
You didn't have to take off the entire undershield. There's a black access panel in the large undershield to for the drain plug and then you take off the front shield to access the filter.
On the electronic shifter, there's a physical disconnect hidden in the center console that disconnects the transmission for towing. On the double pull hood release, you can't work it while the driver's door is closed, it blocks the lever from moving.
