Universities must now relook at what they flooding the market with, too many youngsters leaving with a degree that will leave them unemployed. Centers of higher education now need to start looking at equipping people for employment as opposed to just increasing there course etc to attract more learns - ultimately only for their own financial gain, not for the learners future employment opportunities

This skills shortage thing is a lie. Many graduates in finance, engineering and all of what his talking about are unemployed. The problem is that the economy is monopolized and domestic investors don't want to grow this economy.

Being unemployed is painful, I remember it very well and I would not wish that on anyone. The solution is not rocket science , if all of us that are employed in fields that are in demand stop being selfish and mentor as many people as we can, we will see a difference. We all don't have an excuse, you can easily use your phone to upload something on you tube that will benefit someone somewhere.

Don't listen to reports like these. In South Africa if you want to never be unemployed then become a doctor or a qualified actuary. Then I can assure you that you'll never be jobless. Unfortunately... you need something for this. Mathematics. Which most South Africans can't grasp.

@@zozobooi6555 maths is staunch in all of the trades N1-N6 which I did but trust me bru, you will use about 20 percent of the stuff they teach you in the N levels out in the field. Algebra and logarithms help you vokkol.. Anyways You don't necessarily need to go the traditional university route these days though. Go for a practical electrical course with northlink college( or PCD college in Pretoria) no entrance requirements. They teach you what you need to know to hit the trade practical wise. After that go do a four year paid apprenticeship under a licenced electrician. Then go write your trade test.
