I'd love to see Off The Ground reissued on vinyl, as I can't get this for love nor money and what copies are available are going for seriously stupid prices..
I agree but the longer it goes on without a McCartney archive edition, the less likely it is that we will ever get another one. It seems the series is dead unfortunately
@@terrymann1341 Very expensive on vinyl. Personally I'd prefer Press to Play over Off the Ground although at this stage I'd take any continuation of the archive series
I have been anticipating this American vinyl box set since the beginning of this year! Very excited about this release! I have all British Vinyl Albums, I’m ordering this box set’
I'm in America and these releases is all we had. I own both the stereo and mono versions in mint condition. I will not be ordering these. I feel that the definitive re-issues of thses albums were the Capitol albums on CD of the early 2000's. They are a true representation of those albums. The mixes of those box sets are authentic to the albums as we know them. A total money grab IMO.
This is great! Hopefully Paul McCartney will soon be releasing another version of band on the run and McCartney lll ! If we are very lucky the Harrison will rerelease all things must pass again too!
The Beatles broke up 54 years ago. If you're looking for new music you're barking up the wrong tree. I'm sorry it's not the exact release you wanted this year but none of these albums have been reissued on vinyl in decades.
Hi Tone , it’s great to see you looking so well . This is great news , I have ordered My copy of the Beatles 1964 mono box set of 8 LPs , can’t wait for its release . Anyway looking forward to your next live stream and I hope it’s not on s day that I work .
Hello Mr. Beatley Tone Since I already have the 2 Capitol albums box sets that came out in the early 2000s and the U.S. albums box set that came out in 2014, I will not be getting this vinyl box set The only one that I might be getting is A Hard Day’s Night, only to get the original mix instead of the 2009 mix Now having said that I am very happy that this is coming out so that new Beatles fans or people like you who never owned them could have them I will definitely be looking forward to your unboxing of the records Thank you for another awesome video God bless you, and I will catch you on the next one
You're welcome Angie and Im glad you enjoyed the video. I hear what you're saying but these will sound different to the Cd boxes that you mention. Im glad these are being reissued as Ive never owned them and the mixes from the original analogue tapes makes this a bit of a curio for me but I totally get why you're dipping out this time. Hope you are doing well my friend.
Thanks for keeping us up to date as always Tone. Quite honestly I don’t understand why the rest of the world has any interest in the US only albums when they aren’t what the Beatles released and are broadly regarded as inferior to the UK albums. Why do these albums have any greater significance to the rest of the world than unique releases from other countries? If this is what we are getting instead of a Rubber Soul (or PPM) remix then I am deeply disappointed. I have a 1981 Aussie pressing of the US AHDN soundtrack, an early 70’s pressing of US Help, and the US Albums vol 1 & 2 on CD. That will do me - for the first time I won’t be buying any of these new releases. 😞 Also disappointed to report that the Mind Games items I preordered in May have still not arrived 🤬 Here’s hoping an announcement from the Macca camp is imminent - I need something to look forward to before Xmas 😅
I get your disappointment Jason and hopefully they will get back on the UK remix series next year. From what I understand Giles Martin wasnt available to the Beatles this year, probably due to other projects. I also understand the Mal tech is having a massive upgrade so that hasnt been available either for any other producer to do the remix(not that I think they would use anyone but Giles to do this). What the hell has happened to your Mind Games ?
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel I should have said, the fact that it is $629 to buy here also makes it an unattractive proposition! Not sure where my mind games is - at this stage I will probably give it to the end of this week and then seek a refund I think.
@@jasonardler8373 Wow according to my currency conversion app that's £321 almost £100 more than here in the UK so yes I would definitely give it a swerve. Hope you mind games turns up by the end of the week Jason
A great alternative to these releases are the excellent sounding 2004/2206 Capital Cd collections which include both stereo and mono mixed true to the American (Dave Dexter) originals, unlike the later issue that simply used the 2009 remasters. Although out of print they are still fairly available on eBay and way way less money. These releases will take you all the way through Rubber Soul, and really do sound great. No UA Hard Days night or Beatles story, but you gain Beatles VI, Help, and Rubber Soul.
I have the 2014 CD box set. I believe they have different mixes, and I really like the 2014 packaging. It's like the mono box - a cubed box rather than two long boxes.
I suppose the real question is, if you don't buy them, will you regret it later? There are so many people out there bemoaning the fact that the UK Mono Box Set isn't available any more but, how many of those decided against buying it when it came out? I know you can talk about the expense but, whilst it isn't cheap, it's still a lot cheaper than the Super Deluxe Mind Games that recently came out of the Lennon camp, or the extortionately priced Singles Crate that McCartney was peddling.
Oh blimey Ian that singles crate was superb and worth every penny at £600 for 81 singles and at the very worst an investment that is now worth around £2k - not that I would ever sell mine unless I was in the gutter. Agree that many turned their nose up at the mono box and now want mono albums included in Stereo box sets . Just goes to show , you cant please everybody and the number of people you can please is diminishing
Same hear in Australia... means nothing and the mixes to me are rubbish. Seems to be targeted at the US market. I do understand the sentimental feeling for them. Just nothing for the bulk of fans
Oh no!!! The world has continued on its axis for 59 years without a Giles Martin mix of Rubber Soul. Do you think we'll survive one mor eyear without it?
What I am grateful for is that the 1964 Capitol albums are going to be in analog mono vinyl LP format. I heard a bit of "I Feel Fine" from the promo and it does sound like the Dave Dexter heavy reverb mix. As I already own most of these, I'll just purchase a couple of them individually.
Yes this the great thing about these re-releases analog master tapes - I think a lot people have missed that point Dennis. Whatever you decide to get, enjoy them when they arrive my friend . Im looking forward to hearing the dexter mixes for the first time
I'm sure not sure how to feel about this set. It just seems like Giles Martin wasn't available to do a remix and apple panicked and said let's do the US albums. But this year would've been perfect for a 1964 Boxset with a remix of hard days night and Beatles for sale, a double album of outtakes, both albums in mono and a singles collection LP with stereo remixes on side A and the mono mixes on side B. Idk I just think this announcement was a let down, hopefully we finally get rubber soul next year for the 60th anniversary.
AHDN and Beatles for sale would have been my top choice too. Ive heard it's actually true that Giles Martin wasnt available this year - committed to other projects.
This issue of Giles Martin being unavailable has been rumoured as a reason for the inability to issue Rubber Soul or an alternative original album issue in special extended edition form. Clearly there was time to remix a range of tracks for the extended Red and Blue albums. Had these just been issued in their original format then there would have been ample opportunity to use the time to create remixes for the undoing series. Whilst I am sure that it is a comforting 'family' choice to employ Giles in this role there are surely others who are able to carry out. or assist with, remixes. Perhaps Giles could have overseen or supported another producer in the role. Wherever you stand on the US albums release, it appears that resources were found there to oversee the production duties on eight albums. It is a shame that in the UK we do not seem to be able to find resources to service the greatest band that the world has ever known. I am sure that there is a market in the US for a series of alternative compilations of The Beatles' recordings from 60 years ago, but it would appear that there will be no release on a full range of formats to cater for markets elsewhere this year. Perhaps it is felt that this is a universal release but it does, to me personally, feel like a very specific regional release. It is vinyl only, is using mono masters that seem to be based upon stereo originals provided by the UK back in the 1960s and adapted with fold-downs and other processes to match what was felt appropriate for the domestic US market at that time. It does not correspond with the unified mix philosophy that has been put in place in recent years.
Really appreciate your initial reaction to these ‘new’ releases and find myself in total agreement with you. I’m happy with my Capitol volumes 1&2 CD boxsets from 2004 / 2006 & the US Albums CD boxset from 10 years ago. I had most of the Capitol albums back in the 70s courtesy of an American neighbour who obtained them through the US store (PX?) for Service Personnel. They were on the Apple 🍏 Wish I still had them! Hopefully, we’ll get the Rubber Soul boxset for the 60th anniversary next year. I had expected a celebration of A Hard Day’s Night & Beatles for sale this year. Oh well guess not now.
Totally get it Andy, you have this one covered and now have some free-ed up cash to spend on something nice this xmas. I would have also preferred 1964 to have been covered by a box set of AHDN and BFS remixed in stereo.
The Capitol Albums from the early 00s are an interesting curio, especially the dodgy 'duophonic' stereo mixes. I have a soft spot for the fake stereo mix of She Loves You, in particular. I have 3 copies of Vol 2 on CD, all 3 with the fold down mono. The completist in me kept trying to get the correct version, but I'm not going to try a 4th time! As for this set, it's a niche release for a certain generation of American fan. Not the release most of us would have wanted, but oh well! PS. I'm a fan of the 2014 US Albums CD set, mainly because it includes properly EQ-d mono versions of the 2009 remasters, including most of their material up to Revolver.
I first became familiar with the capital albums when I bought the CD version from 2004 and 2005 I love those albums those are fantastic album to say the least. and I love hearing that mixes from America because they’re so unique which is great.
I was dismissive of the American albums for decades, until I very belatedly got the 2014 CD box set of The Beatles: The US Albums last year. Really nicely packaged, and it's my go-to when I want to listen to a mixture of the North American releases for historical value, and to listen to Beatles compilations generally. I've never found any Beatles' compilation particularly satisfying because of all the great tracks that are always missing, while with the US albums you get everything, albeit on different discs. They're not the Dave Dexter versions with added reverb, they have the mixes sent by EMI to Capitol, plus the 2009 mixes, I believe. An excellent feature is that you get both stereo and mono versions of the songs in the CD box. I know these LP releases aren't the same thing, but I'd urge Beatles fans to get the US albums as companion pieces to the official UK albums. They're very enjoyable. Edit: Even though I have TH-cam Premium, I do get annoyed when adverts are forced on me and I have to skip past them, so I appreciate your integrity, Tone.
Yes that really is a nice package that at lest includes all the Us albums on CD including Hey Jude which was actually one of the first Beatles albums I ever owned even though Im in the UK. I didnt release it was an import at the time but Ive always had a soft spot for it. I dont have YT premium so I get all the ads which I find really annoying, that's why I dont allow any on my videos despite it meaning I earn less money
Hey Tone……I am glad that the Beatles 60th anniversary in the U.S. is being recognized. I am glad they are making these records available again. Being an American I can say that I did grow up with these versions. I do have vinyl copies of these in mono but the ones I have are over 60 years old so it is nice to get these in mint condition. I am curious to see if they stay true to the original Capitol album aesthetic and release the fold down mixes as opposed to the true mono mixes which was done for many of the U.S. albums with the exception of Beatles VI and Rubber Soul which were true mono mixes. Curious to see if we get a second volume of this set next year. We’ll have to wait and see. Thanks so much for sharing this video and glad you are doing well Tone!
Nicwe to see a positive comment. Despite their bad cover art and poor mixes these albums are a huge part of Beatles history. They deserve a proper reissue and I'm glad I don't have to spend $900 to get decent pressings of 6 albums.
Thanks very much Bill, Im doing ok and getting stronger. Glad you are happy about this release - even as a Brit, I recognise that these albums are a big part of the Beatles history and helped to make them as huge as they became.Im looking forward to hearing these mixes although im not sure that we ever hear any mono records in true mono these days as we play them through a stereo hifi which just replicates the same in each speaker . Enjoy whatever you decide to order when they arrive my friend
Hi Tone, I have as you The Beatles Story bought almost 40 years ago and never played, and I have Something New too and the box is overpriced, but as you know my health situation is my biggest concern now and The Beatles are such a pleasure to me, that anyhow I'll buy the box. I can't resist a new Beatles boxset. Great video as always.
You got that right! As I said, I already have all the USA albums on CD and used Vynl on the others! When compact disc came out, I was pleased to see the British track listing
Hope you are doing well, Tony! I myself am not that excited as I won't be buying it, but I have great memories of some of the U.S. Beatles albums from when I was younger. We all want the remix of Rubber Soul... but maybe next year hopefully.
Doing ok thanks Larry , getting stronger every day. How are you doing with your pain issues? I didnt think you would be in for these as you're not really a vinyl collector these days . Hopefully they will get back to the UK remix series next year. None of us are getting any younger
Hi Tone! I am from the USA and this cash grab set means nothing to me. In addition to having all of the original US albums on vinyl, I purchased all of the Beatles US CD sets in the past - Capitol Volume 1 (2004), Capitol Volume 2 (2006), and the US albums (2014). Those CD sets included both mono and stereo versions of the songs. The US albums CD set from 2014 also includes the releases through Revolver plus Hey Jude. That is all I need! I have no interest in this new overpriced 2024 set of the “1964” material. Thank you for the detailed video! 😊
This came to me when I was in a sports bar! I wanted your take on it. They are readily available out here with different track listing. I looked at the price and I am not sure since I have these all on CD and Vinyl! What more am I getting ?
Granted a lot of you don't need this or want it so of course you have no interest in it but there are a lot of us who do want these, I for one am a 68 yrs young Beatle fan and presently own none of these albums and to try buying used mint copy's would be really expensive and time consuming so with this set my prayers have been answered and Im very happy about it to get them all in one shot!
Looking forward to Ringo Starr’s new Country Album, not sure if we will see another McCartney release this year, but you never know! There could be a December Surprise! Peace ☮️ and Love ❤️
Thanks Tone for another thought- provoking video. I’m lucky to have the vinyl mono boxset, so I don’t think I’ll be getting this release. I agree that they should have gone to the whole way and released all the US LPs together in a big box. I do like the US ‘folk rock’ Rubber Soul. But I was hoping that would be included in a Rubber Soul boxset! Fingers crossed for next year. There’s still time for Paul’s new LP before Christmas! 🤞🤞
Glad you enjoyed the video Paul. Im getting these mainly for the alternative mixes that was used on these albums but I get the apathy towards these releases. Yes hopefully they will get back to the UK remix series next year and a US Rubber Soul in the Rubber Soul box is a great shout. Yes still time for Macca before the end of the year.
Since we've never seen any Us exclusive sets recently. I wonder if you think that the new mono box will have the truncated versions of those albums not or, the original 14 track European versions what do you think? Also, if you see anything about an Elton John collection of b-sides. Would you please make a video about that. I'm really poor at keeping up with a lot of these things. Thank you.
Beatley Tone you were right on when you broke this story last week! Great reporting Tone! This set is the same as the cd box set 2014 on cd! I have that one! This vinyl box set U.S. replica nice box set or sold individual! I believe i will pass on this set Tone. But it is very nicely done to the original!!! Tone this is being released November 22nd do you think this will be it for The Beatles this year 2024?? Nothing else because late November Tone your looking great full recovery!! Thanks Tone for all this information!!! I was hoping for maybe Star club or Magical mystery tour boxset let's hope this is not all we get in 2024???
Thanks John, one tries one's best on the reporting front and thank you also , Im doing ok.. So these are not the same as the 2014 Cd set as that one used the 2009 remasters - these are analogue from the original mono master tapes. And yes I do think this will be it from The Beatles for 2024 unfortunately . Star Club tapes are owned by Peter Jackson now and when he's cleaned them up he will have to seek a label to put them out - that might be Apple or another label or possibly no-one will be interested like the first time they came out in 1977
The US albums have always seemed like aberrations to me (as a Brit). But I think I might get the 'Hard Days Night' one as that at least has a few curios that were not on the UK Hard Days Night album. So this year is a littler cheaper for me (not really as I did go for the Pin set which I absolutely love).
Thanks for your reaction Very entertaining Personally getting the box set and probably individual releases as well. Yea Beatle collector nutter confession. Looking forward to next video Thanks for sharing
You're welcome. And that's fine my friend. It's your money and you're free to buy what you like with it. Good luck to you fella and no confession needed here. Enjoy your swag when it arrive
So disappointed. 180gram Mono US albums, 64-65. $300 USD. No extras, nothing special. Certainly something I don’t want or need. I already has the white box Mono Boxset that I paid a thousand dollars for. On the bright side, David Gilmour’s Luck and Strange is the Album of the Year. David’s best yet. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I doubt I’ll bother. I have the 2009 stereo and mono sets and that’s enough for me. Do you know if these album songs are different from the Uk sets? If not why bother.
Fair enough, although these are completely different mixes to the 2009s. Some songs are different to the UK versions And I Love Her and I'll Cry Instead are a couple that spring to mind
My good friend CharlieHagan ( My BeatlesCollection) said a colored vinyl Meet The Beatles will sold exclusively from Target stores . Beatles 65 was released in Canada and America, December 1964. The English win out here,, I'm staying with the English recordings . I still have my original LP'S, though well worn, including the Beatles Story. Do you know if the recording is off the original Capitol tapes, because they never sounded as good as the parlophone copies.
I believe they are directly sourced from the analogue tapes in true mono presenting the original capitol mixes but cleaned up a bit Charlie. HMV are selling the blue vinyl Meet The Beatles here in the Uk but its £40 so Im giving it the swerve
I am very excited about the Beatles albums in mono I have never heard the US albums in mono before and I love documentaries and spoken word albums they’re very very fascinating I love it. I can’t wait to buy the vinyl box set it is going to be very very fantastic indeed. It is too bad that we’re not going to get the whole capital albums all 13 of them on vinyl but maybe they’ll do it they should do it in stereo the next few albums from 1965 to 70 you might do that in stereo and mono.
Hi Tone & great to see you looking well & a very strange release this & sorry to say scraping the bottom of the barrel here in my honest opinion! They could have enticed the fans by selling the box sets at a really fair price but no! Personally I would love a Mono box set of all UK albums in different coloured vinyls & what a sensation that would be eh? Okay the Rolling Stones have done this but it's the Beatles we're talking about here & i can only live in hope 🙏
Thnaks Stephen I'm doing ok . I wouldn't say scraping the bottom of the barrel Stephen - plenty are into this release and plenty against it. Its human nature to berate something you dont want or if its not the box set you're hoping for but I agree this set is well overpriced. I quite like the idea of a box set of coloured vinyl but im not sure the mono box set is the right thing. Coloured vinyl is a thing of the 70s and 80s and beyond so I feel if you want authentic mono it has to be black - maybe its just me but I want my mono records to look like they come from the 60s
I decided to pass on the box set. It's way too expensive for what you get. Especially in Canada. $529.99 CAN! I wasn't going to get any of the six individual albums, but I broke down, and pre-ordered "Meet The Beatles!" and "Beatles '65". They were the first two Beatles albums I ever heard, from my parent's record collection. But, "Meet The Beatles!" was actually the Canadian "Beatlemania! With The Beatles" edition. But, I like the US cover better.
Hi, Tone! I'll be picking these up individually. I've got a first pressing of The Beatles Story and I don't feel any need to have another copy. For the others, one of my Beatles collecting hobbies is buying different pressings with the various labels Capitol used over the years (your Beatles Story is on the 1976 Orange Label, for example). I think 180 gram remasters of these will be a nice addition to the collection but I understand if others choose to pass them by.
Hi Matthew sounds like you’re doing the same as me . Thanks for the info on my Capitol label which fits with the time i bought it. Enjoy your records when they arrive and nice to hear from you, hope you are well my friend
Thanks, Tone. I told Andy Nichols recently that the 2nd album, beatles VI, Rubber soul & magical mystery tour is where we in usa got it right. ... Those 4 usa albums i am proud of...the other hodge podge slap together american albums are great of course cause its the Beatles...but boy was it cool to buy and hear the UK versions. Have a good one Tone.
Yes I was there when you told Andy that and thats fair enough Russ . Im still not completely sold on the US Rubber Soul - it has good tracks on it but it's not Rubber Souly enough :-)
I am so pleased that this set is finally being released , ordered the box set and hope eventually they will release the remaining ones that come after. Having grown up with this track listing I still have a hard time with the U.K. version, even though you get more music and its what the Beatles intended this set is very sentimental to me. I have copies of all of these but they are a bit worn after sixty years ( as I am as well 😞) Take care Tone, hope you are doing well.
Hi Sharon, I doing great thanks . The worn out bit made me laugh. Totally get the sentimental aspect to these albums for Americans so you enjoy your box set when it arrives in November
Also Sharon can you confirm that the box set Wass $300 plus tax and shipping because its seems odd the that the 6 albums are $30 = $180 and the box set is $300 meaning that the slip case plus The Beatles Story is $120 which seems wrong . Juts wondering if the price on the web site is wrong
When I ordered the price on Beatles site was 324. Which I bought then after your video I looked and it was 299. Contacted site and they said I would have to cancel order then reorder. So I canceled and ordered from Amazon. Their price was 299. but I get free shipping and their price might drop by Nov.
Never been easier to save your money! Unbelievable why anyone would want to buy Capitol’s shot at playing Dr. Frankenstein.😅 We all know they did just ONE thing right, and we already got that one in Apple’s boxset.
I don’t think there is much reverb on the American mono sets except on I Feel Fine and She’s a Woman on Beatles 65. The stereo ones had most of the reverb, especially Beatles second album. AHDN has the longer I’ll Cry Instead.
Hello Tone, thanks for sharing all these details, really helpful! I agree with all your comments. I have also had the interview record for decades. Do not see any reason to buy that one again, my copy is also in mint condition😄 I already have the US albums on Vinyl and they are nice to have in addition to the UK records. Offcourse I will buy these new releases as well, but as separate records.
Nice video my friend, I have a couple of the Beatles story album, one on the capitol rainbow label and a couple later issues on Apple, like you don't play them very often, I also have most of the Beatles USA albums, then are okay to be honest, but I think this box set is very expensive,,,,,,,,but if I've got the money I will probably still buy it ,Lol, take care my friend, cheers, Dave 😊
We got half of Rubber Soul on the Remixed Red album. They recorded that album while they were touring and there isn’t the treasure trove of outtakes. I’ve preordered the box and can’t wait to listen to it
Yes having half of RS already has taken the shine off a RS box for me but it was recorded at Abbey Road and theyvwouldnt have got the finished take first time so there were plenty of out takes - enough to fill a couple of sides anyway. Enjoy your box set ehen it arrives Kev
I’m highly confused on the pricing on this. The box is $300 yet the individual LP’s are $30? That means the box itself and the Beatles Story double LP are worth $120? Something is very off here. Did you see here in the U.S. at Target stores there’s an opaque blue vinyl version of Meet the Beatles too? It’s the only retailer I’ve seen with an exclusive on this so far. But seems odd they wouldn’t do the others on colored vinyl too.
Great point Dustin, I hadn't really thought that through - Im probably to focused on the GBP price. im trying to follow up on this to get you an answer
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel at least if there was a hardback book or something else included in the box. But pretty sure there isn’t. I’m going to kick myself for not getting the box, but I really don’t need The Beatles Story. I have the CD in the U.S. Albums box and that seems enough. Eventually I might get a vintage vinyl version if the price is right. What’s sad is last year with the Red & Blue boxes. Weren’t they only about $5 more than buying individually?
@@BeatleDustino I dont really understand the US pricing but the price is the same as the UK version. Seems a bit slapdash to not include a book seeing as this is celebrating the arrival in the US. If I buy all the albums separately the difference is £40 from the box set which seems more realistic but £40 does not equate to $120 - the would mean 3 dollars to the pound which is not the rate.
Glad to see the US albums. I have a couple from the 70s I bought as a teenager. I will play them occasionally out of nostalgia. They needed to do something for coming to America in 1964, not sure this was best answer
Beatley Tone I was wondering could there be any cd releases from The Beatles in 2024 your thoughts so far just vinyl 1964 mono releases and early 1965 Thanks Tone ! Slim Pickens this year!
@@BeatlesTranscriber So many people only buy CDs so they have value to those people and they sell way more than vinyl. Value only matters if you are a seller not a buyer
Hi there my friend. Well here we go lol!!!! And yes, you are right about your news. Start to save up :). But this is a great looking set, and I do think it will do well and here they are showing Colored Vinyl.... O NO MY KRYPTONITE LOL!!!!! Thanks for the video and well done and I do hope all is well with you mate!!!!!
Yes, there a bit easier to get here :) OfCourse. And yes, I do have all of the ones in mint condition. But get this Tonny one of my holy grails is a mint copy of Meet the Beatles. And you are saying ok..... But this one is an advanced copy to the press, and it does have paperwork for the press release and it is a Mono first pressing promo lol yes!!!!! So, there you go, and the others are some rare one as well but not like this one. Well, I am off for now see you later!!!! cheers mate!!!!!!
Yes I saw there's a Meet The Beatles on blue vinyl from Target which I expect you will get. Unfortunately we dont have a Target here or anyone else selling this blue vinyl album but I will look forward to seeing yours mate. Hope you are starting to recover my friend.
In point of fact, the American albums used, with a few exceptions, the same mixes as the UK albums. The difference was in the mastering. In the UK, mastering was done by George Martin as part of the mixing process. Copies of the mixes were made, taking them down one tape generation, and sent to the US. Dave Dexter then added additional reverb because he thought they didn't sound "American" enough, taking them down another tape generation. It's also worth noting that Meet The Beatles, The Beatles Second Album and The Early Beatles did not use true mono mixes, but folded down versions of the stereo mixes (with the exception of those tracks which had only been mixed into mono for release as singles).
Hi Tone , hmv are doing an exclusive blue vinyl pressing of meet the Beatles which is limited edition , which I have ordered , it’s released on the same day as the Beatles 1964 mono box set of 8Lps
Even though I grew up with the US Albums, I still prefer the UK sequences. It is a cash grab based on sentimentality. While I bought the Early Beatles and a fake Introducing the Beatles, I bought the Please Please Me import in the early eighties. Remember, it took a rarities album to get There's a Place and Misery on a Capitol album.
I thought this news might 'tickle your fancy' mate. I hope it brings you much cheer, as I remember you mentioning you would like to see this release, or something along the lines of this release.I sincerely hope that everything is going in the right direction for you and the family.Take Care.
This puts my Capiphone-catalog spanning- project on hold for now.Next year,I hope.UK,North American,German lp exclusives, film mixes not on official vinyl or CD,later fades, all tracks in mono AND stereo!!Next year,Tone!!
Hello Beatley Tone good to see you back on air, I will give this a miss for the price and what you get in return its not worth it ,Apple have missed an opportunity to celebrate this anniversary. I bought the US Albums on CD the box set several years ago .the cost is eye watering, I holding on for the Rubber Soul box set hopefully in 2025 . Its so nice to see you back do not over do it and do as Mrs Beatley Tone tells you. Kind Regards Sean
Thanks very much Sean and I always do what the missus says :-) Yes these are well overpriced so totally understand you giving these the swerve and sounds like you've got these covered on CD anyway. Hopefully they will get back to the UK Remix project next year
Thanks very much Rich, Im doing ok and getting stringer each day. Glad you enjoyed the video and are excited about the release. It is indeed the Bloody Beatles . What are you going for?
The USA version’s bordered on compilation albums especially later on like Yesterday and Today! This collection may be valuable to me for its slip case but I am still thinking of a reason to spend that much on albums and CD s I already have.
Hi Tone, I hope you're feeling as well as you look! I specifically wanted to hear what you thought of this release. My thoughts are all over the map, so bear with me: Yes, I'm a first generation American fan but I am equally a Beatles historian. This release leaves more questions than it answers. Since 1987, Apple unified the catalog and made the UK releases, save for Magical Mystery Tour, the official canon. They made it a mission to bury the US albums. Since 2004, they keep finding new ways to re-release the US catalog, but with 3 attempts at it, Apple manages to miss the mark every time. They gave us the correct mixes in 2004-2005 (except for the first issue of the 2nd box where they used the wrong masters on 2 of the albums), but didn't complete the releases. With the US albums box, we got almost all of the albums, but only the alternative mix tracks peppered in with the 2009 remasters. The Early Beatles in a box titled 1964 makes my OCD totally kick in, just as it did with Now And Then on 1967 - 1970. It also begs the question of how they structure the next release, if in fact there is any plan to continue. With the Anthology remix/remaster looming and the pre-Revolver boxes starting to back up, how do they proceed? As for me, I scratched my head with one hand and preordered the box + Meet The Beatles on Blue Vinyl from Target with the other because this is literally a time capsule for me. I don't buy too much new vinyl, but this release checked every box for what I would choose to buy. The added incentive was that I have been hoarding Amazon points waiting for the big Beatles release of 2024, so this was downright affordable. To wrap up this Beatley tome, I am so grateful this wasn't a Universal/Beatles Store exclusive. They have continued to screw up every single order I have ever placed through them. The most recent inconvenience led to me not getting the Mind Games Lennon map. As usual, long story long.....Be well, Mate!
Im doing ok thanks Pete. Great post and I hear you. if this release is ticking all your boxes then you have done the right thing but ordering it. It ticks my boxes too. How Apple go forward with part 2 and the stereo remix series is a question I want to talk about in another video coming soon because without trying to second guess how their roadmap work (if there even is a roadmap) I havent got a clue. They seem to be completely scattergun at the moment. Anyway at least you got a few bucks off with your Amazon points so lets celebrate that at least my friend, and enjoy your swag when it arrives
Already have decent stereo copies of Meet the Beatles and Beatles 65 but might pick up the others individually. Might wait for the prices to come down a bit though
I sold most of my original US LPs long ago. Now I have a motley collection of various pressings all in fairly good shape and mostly mono. I'm glad these reissues are coming out for the fans who want them. I don't really need them though.
This is a nice release for younger fans who haven’t got the original releases! Its hard to get these used in good condition I’m glad they are available individually if you don’t want the whole collection 300 US dollars is too much but we should expect this from Apple Corp!!
Hi Tone- Glad your feeling better. The only entertaining thing about this set is listening to your funny comment: "Beatles 2nd album title . . . .rubbish . . . . not original. I laughed on that one! Anyway, I started my Beatles vinyl journey back in the mid-70's as well. Everything I read about Beatles vinyl collecting pointed to the UK Prints as the ones to get. I pretty much have stuck to that plan with a few exceptions: Yesterday and Today and Hey Jude US albums. My personal cross-section mini Beatles concerts. Why can't they (Apple) work on some decent live show releases? Nice video ! Thanks, Beatlefan Dan, USA
Thanks Dan Im glad you got a laugh out of this video, and yes Im doing ok thank you. Hey Jude was of the first albums I got (I think I bought it and Abbey road on the same day) - I didnt know it was a US album back then nor that it was a complication but Ive always loved it and it's weird track listing. To be honest I'd rather Apple completed the Uk album Remix project before getting onto live albums. Obviously a big issue with Beatles live recordings is the screaming and also that the set list on so many recorded gigs is very similar
Ill Cry Instead, remember,is the COMPLETE 2:04 mix with the repeat of the first stanza, but not phrased exactly the same, though. The song is considered complete, then, and NOT artificially lengthened.
These are great. As a 1970's UK teen I didn't know they existed until the early 80's when I bought a discography book. I have one copy of all of them. I love the history behind them, particularly the fact the copies now on my turntable were bought all those years ago in a shop in the US and were well loved by the fans at the time. I'm not interested in all the moaning about the mangling of the albums and added reverb. These are an important part of music history in the biggest market in the world and deserve to be celebrated.
First of all this is an Awesome channel and ok as Beatle fans we demand from the people reissuing it 1. Source material 2. Anologe or Digital 3. will it be dumbed down so the kids like it like Abby Road 4. hope better than the original capitals . ALWAYS PREFERD THE UK PRESSINGS end of Story
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel We look forward to it and when the people who apprecaite propper recordings arnt around they can turn beatle material into 8 tracks lol
Hi Tone, glad to see you are doing better! Nice video thank you! Do you know if the individual albums will be sold as limited editions? Will the albums be available on Spotify or Apple Music? My issue is if they decide to issue part 2 of the US albums next year, does that mean RS Deluxe will only be put out in 2026? Who knows, take care!
Thnaks very much, Im doing ok and glad you enjoyed the video. The individual albums are limited to 4 copies per person but apart from that I dont think there limited editions so no rush. The US albums are not on Spotify yet but someone has mentioned that they are on Apple Music (I cant confirm as I no longer have Apple Music). I will be addressing what happens next in a video soon but like you say, Who know's what Apple is thinking ? I imagine that RS will be out next year for the 6oth anniversary but nothing confirmed yet
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel Nothing yet on Apple Music Canada, but then again everything is always late arriving here. Can’t even order this box set or individual US albums on Amazon Canada yet. 🤷
Hey Tone…. I will be buying the box. However, like you, I wish they had included the rest of the albums that were in the American cd set. Because I don’t think they’ll be making a 1965 US box set next year for three or four albums. And if they do or even sell them individually, does that push back the album series box set another year? Or will there be a Rubber Soul box next year along with the option of buying an individual US Rubber Soul? Should be interesting. I certainly don’t need another copy of The Beatles Story. I don’t play it often but I have to say it was one of my first albums. Gifted to me by my grandmother. And being in that early Beatle fan stage I enjoyed hearing the snatches of music and them talking. Just hearing that opening of the instrumental I Want To Hold Your Hand takes me back to when it was all new for me. So not my first choice of what I would have liked this year but they’ll be getting my money. And since my old US albums are in stereo, at least these being in mono add a little more interest for me.
Oh that's a great bit of nostalgia for you - getting the Beatles Story from you Grandmother. Those were such exciting times, when we heard Beatles records for the first time. I agree that there wont be a continuation on the US albums but if there was, yes it would certainly put back the continuation of the UK Remix project which we really dont want to happen. I hope they include a US Rubber Soul in a Rubber Soul SDE the would be a nice addition and it would be great if that was available individually as well. But if they do that , What do they do with US Revolver or Yesterday & Today because the Revolver SDE is already done? My hope is that the rest of the US albums become available individually over time rather than doing other box set. Enjoy your box set when it arrives Michael.
Hi Beatley Tone, first of all let me say you are looking really good and full of bounce 😅 great review of this very disappointing and expensive release, I am sure the Beatles camp could have done something better for a Christmas release. But there you go it is what it is. I for one won't be getting these as one they are not on CD and two I have already got The Beatles Capitol Albums Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 on CD plus the CD Box Set The U. S. Albums all with mono and stereo mixes of all the albums. So will have to spend my Christmas Beatles treat money on something else 😂😂 thanks again for another excellent podcast. Looking forward to the next one whatever it will be on. Take care 😊
Thanks very much Maurice, Im doing ok and glad you enjoyed the video. As a CD buyer and stuff you already have, this is surplus to requirements for you so enjoy your extra cash to spend this Christmas. Hopefully they will get back to the stereo remix box sets next year
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel thank Tone I sure will enjoy the Christmas cash and buy something special. With this Beatles release I feel that whatever was suppose to come out this year wouldn't be ready in time so they quickly got this together to fill the gap. Maybe next year we will have two special releases 🤞🤞🤞or am I dreaming 🤣🤣🤣
As an Englishman I don't own any of these records. So I am curious to hear them and I will probably buy the box. It is about £30 cheaper to buy the individual albums, but I would like the box on my shelf. These are all mono and Dave Dexterised so should be interesting. I am a bit surprised that there isn't a CD release, as a lot of fans don't buy vinyl and presumably CD would have been about £100 cheaper. Hope you are still well Tone. Andrew
Im doing ok thanks Andrew. Im also getting these for the mix. No Cds probably because these albums were released on CD in 2004 at a guess. Enjoy the box when it comes if thats what you go for Andrew
I'm from Danmark where we didn't bother with the buthered US albums with mock stereo which contain only 12 or 11 tracks. However I do own MMT on vinyl but prefer the 2009 remaster.
Scope for a vol 2 rubber soul etc. Great they are the original mixes but i'll skip these to see what's the next release they do next year. My luck it will be vol 2 which i won't get either LOL. But like you i do have the Beatles story played just once, and i'm suprised there's no cd version too. I have the 2004 capitol albums on cd that had the mono-stereo mixes but not vol 2 there the original us mixes too. My idea for a u.s singles boxset is much better.
Hopefully they will get back to the Uk Stereo remix series next year. But this is Apple we're talking about and when have they ever cared what the fans think?
Thanks Tone. Personally, despite them being nice to have, they’re way too much money for very short albums ( I’ve seen longer EP’s ). The six individual LPs is surely the way to go. I may pick up one or two, but to be honest even £32 is too much for them. I’ll need to do some thinking
Hi Tone All well, mate? I think k it's an interesting release, it is, although I have the most original Capitol masters but in Stereo. YEAH, YEAH YEAH. I don't know yet if I gonna buy the complete box. The Beatles Story with interviews I do not have to have. But The Beatles Second Album and Beatles '65 are gems, really gems. But I have to compare the prices of the other albums separately with the price of the complete box. But in the end ..... I think it will be the not, knowing myself. Somewhere between 250 and 300 Euro over here. I have some American albums with the original Dexter master from Capitol. They sound good, some even better than the UK pressings. But for sure, I am happy with this announcement. These are the real American albums and not the 2014 Beatles In America CD box, those are mostly UK mixes. The two released Capitol cd sets which were the original Capitol mixes. YEAH, YEAH, YEAH. Take care
Hi PeKe, yes all good here thanks, Im recovering well. Glad you're happy about this release. In GBP to buy the records separately is about £40 less than buying the box set and I guess a similar amount in Euros if that helps. It's the Dexter mix that is drawing me in . YEAH , YEAh and indeed YEAH !
Il wait until it doesn’t sell and the price drops below £120 and I may just buy the box. I purchased The Beatles Story about 75/76 in the U.K. like yourself. I think there will be another USA box with 6 remaining albums next year.
Im not so sure. I think they've done this specifically to celebrate 60 years since 1964, hence the albums they have chosen . That reason isnt relevant for the rest of the US albums. If this campaign is a success I expect the rest of the US albums will be released individually
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel Could be right. I don’t think it will be a success. This release reminds me of the unwanted Beatles compilations of the late 70’s and early 80’s. Anyway glad to see you are looking well and hope in December when you go back for more treatment it goes well. All the best.
I'm probably going to get the 6 albums individually instead of the box set. I can't justify paying over $100 more for the Beatles story and a slip case. What makes these albums appealing to me is that they are mono & all analog. Also, a lot of them are different mixes than the u.k. versions.
Hello Tone, how are you feeling man? I'm interested in the box set - i think ive got that Beatles story - id have to check but i think i got it at a convention about 25 years ago!! ... but i think i'll wait for the box set to come down - im guessing it will drop by 25 per cent over 3-4 months......i will buy one of the records on release - maybe the 'a hard days night' album....
I’m disappointed if it’s the thing we are getting this year if I’m honest. I bought a few of these (Canadian editions) in the early 80s brand new as they were really inexpensive in Leeds. I remember Beatles 65 cost me 3 quid! As I was only 14 this seemed a lot..I too have the Beatles Story and played it once !! I may try and get Meet The Beatles as I never got that one and I like the tracklisting ...also maybe get an upgrade of the A Hard Days Night soundtrack as I’ve always really liked that one. I’ll pass on getting the others though..
Totally get your disappointment Nigel and to add to this further I dont think we will be getting anything else from the Beatles camp this year. Hopefully they will get back to the Uk remix series next year. Enjoy those 2 albums if you end up ordering them.
Id be amazed if that ever gets a reissue although I think they'll continue to stick a mono copy of each album in the Stereo remix box sets like they did for Revolver
So... ...so far Apple are playing it VERY safe, and remastering early material on vinyl, in all analogue too, but the Dave Dexter mixes. Most UK fans would have preferred all analogue UK George Martin mixes/Harry Moss masters. The under 30 mins rule for each release should at least allow for the most dynamic cutting of the discs. I hope that there will be new audio/visual material e.g. a documentary ready for Christmas viewing, but I doubt Apple are in any haste with that material.
Personally I think if these had the GM Uk mixes on them these records would have less interest from UK fans because we already have these in abundance. In my opinion (and the reason I am getting these) is Dexter mixes - its a kind of curiosity thing
I'm skeptical at best. Are we getting the actual Capitol Dave Dexter tapes or the 2014 releases that were nothing more than the Parlaphone tapes with some extra echo on it? Also, many of us already have the originals and they're easily very accessible...so what's the point? I say just give us the Rubber Soul box set and be done with it.
Yes these are the proper Dave Dexter mixes for this release. Yes many have these albums already but also many dont . I do see the point of this release but Im frustrated like you that Rubber Soul or any of the other Uk hasnt been delivered this time
Hi Tone. been waiting through today for your comments on this release. Not sure I really need it and the price point is open to debate. I have the two capitol cd box sets and may just stick with those. The unusual track listing throws me with the US issues. Disappointed its not a Rubber Soul Box Set to be honest. Hopefully our Beatle friends across the Atlantic are happier with this than we Brits are.
Hi Jim totally understand your disappointment about Rubber Soul. These are really expensive and it sounds like you have this covered with your CDs so i guess unless you want the vinyl you’re probably safe to give this the swerve
I may pick up Meet the Beatles and '65. Ordered the shm cd of McCartney and Ram due out this week. The Beatles re issue strategy, if indeed there is one, seems odd to me. Last year red and blue..Did we really need/want these? ok we all bought them now 2024 sees these pricey US monos.Sorry BT im rambling on again. Hopefully 2025 sees Help and Rubber Soul box sets.
Hard to know what to make of this. The best possible AAA mastering process by the best possible engineers and cutters, all pressed on 180g vinyl ... from vintage 1964 mixes that were never approved by the Beatles or George Martin. In fact, the mixes were largely influenced by what Capitol thought American kids in 1964 were most likely to buy. Further, these discs were meant to be heard on AM radios and very low-fidelity phonographs. I get the nostalgia factor, but this sure is a steep price for nostalgia. A fan might play these a few times and then go back to the better-sounding versions they already own. And if Apple ever gets around to remixing/remastering all of the other Beatles' albums, this set (and its possible sequel) won't be getting much love from your turntable. I understand some folks saying that $299 is way too much for the box but they'll probably buy two or three of the individual albums at $30 a pop. But that may be part of the marketing strategy. Let's say you spend $90 on single albums this year. Then next year the price on the box drops to $199 and then you decide to grab it. Well, you've still paid darn near $300 in all. I waited over a year for the price on the Revolver SDE to drop below $100. I kept my eye on multiple sites and eventually got a good price. But I didn't buy the two CD version while I was waiting. I would wait on this one as well. I realize that this could be a limited pressing and that the price may never drop - as with the Beatles Mono Vinyl set from 2014. I just have a hunch this will be around for a while and that there will be a sequel next year for the 60th anniversary of the 1965 albums. Hoping you stay healthy and continue making these fab videos for a long, long time, Tone!
I dont disagree with anything you say in the first paragraph Alan, yet people are still hankering over the UK mono records which were made for the same reasons (radio, poor record players etc). People still saying you have to hear the Beatles in mono yet play them on sophisticated stereo hifi systems so are not really hearing them as the Beatles intended anyway - it's a funny old thing. Mono is a bit like the emperors new clothes. A price drop will depend on how these sell I suppose and so people will do what you did with Revolver and keep an eye on the prices. I Hope they get back to the Uk Remix project next year rather than do the rest of the US albums as next year's box. Maybe even a US Rubber Soul in the Rubber Soul box set. Thank you for your good wishes, Im doing ok and glad you enjoy the channel
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel I take your point regarding the UK audiences having the same low-fi listening experience as US audiences in 1964. As you know, the Beatles, and more so George Martin in the early days, spent more time on the mono mixes than the stereo mixes for most of their recordings. And while there probably is some degree of mono elitist bias amongst the fans, I think the objections to the wide panning of some of the stereo mixes are completely fair. The Fabs were still learning how to make use of the stereo format back then and some of their original ideas weren't so successful. On the other hand, there are a fair number of stereo mixes from 1964 and 1965 that I prefer to their mono counterparts. (I was really enjoying a stereo mix of the Help! album the other day.) I don't have the greatest sound system or the greatest ears, so I may not be able to discern the difference between the best quality UK mixes and the best quality US mixes. But we know that the US masters were at least one generation down from the UK masters and that many of the mono mixes were just fold-downs of the stereo mixes. And then there's the Dexterization effect. After this set is released, I will be very interested in seeing and hearing some A/B comparisons between the UK mono vinyl set and US 1964 mono vinyl set. There's a great idea for a video!
@@alanlinfield4318 It is a great idea for a video Alan, however it's quite hard to do an A/B when you're comparing records because of the switching of vinyl and trying to make my old brain remember what ive just heard and comparing it against what Im currently hearing. Much easier to do this with CDs of course. However I will be interested to hear how these US mixes sounds as they will be new to me
Hi tone i will probably buy these albums now they are coming out separately because i already have...something new.... on vinyl which i bought back in the 70s. also for the last 8 months I've been buying the cd version's which have mono and stereo on them . I have collected 8 up till now plus the rubber soul vinyl on apple with the fauls start on... im looking through you.... its nice to have and different. By the way tone my daughter has ordered my revolver box set for my birthday im pleased as punch great video tone. bfn charles
Hi Charles, yes seem much more sensible to just get the ones you're missing rather than the box set although it sounds like you have these covered on CD. Great news re the Revolver box set - enjoy it when it comes - it's excellent
You did warn me no "Rubber Soul" box this year. If these albums are 100% audio accurate. Am I right in thinking that these will have the awful added reverb mix? Full disclosure here. I bought a few of these on cd when Apple put them out a while ago. But at least you got stereo and mono mixes. Nice to see you back in business. I'm out on this release.
Totally get your disappointment Perry. yes these have the original Dexter mixes, however I think they will sound much better than those Cds from 2004. Some fans really like the dexter mixes - I havent heard them so will reserve opinion until I have - you'll hear about here :-)
Hi Tone, Not to sound like I’m putting anyone down for wanting these albums, if you enjoy them that's great, but I really don’t get the point of them unless you grew up in the USA and wanted them for nostalgia reasons. I know they have different mixes, but even if I was still collecting vinyl that wouldn’t be enough for me wanting to purchase them. I always consider the USA albums as peculiar bundled compilations and nothing more. I guess I am so use to the contents and order of the UK albums it would throw me off to listen to them, which is why I never really play any Beatles complications including the Red or Blue. When I listen to Beatles I want to hear the whole album, not just random ordered songs. The only exception of course is when I listen to demo’s and outtakes. I do however own 2 USA Beatles albums which I bought back in the 70’s when I ran out of UK albums to buy, Hey Jude and the Beatles Story . Like you I only listened to the Beatles Story once.😁
Hi Bob. I think it's a two way thing. like you say nostalgic if you grew up with these albums as an American and intrigue if you didnt - I wouldn't be surprised to see this release do pretty well sales wise - we have to presume that UMG did their market research. Different mixes plus ive never owned any of these albums drew me in. I get the playing whole albums thing and that is still available - for me this is just something different a bit like you buying a couple of them because you ran out of other albums to buy. I dont expect I will play these too much after the initial impact but we'll see
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel Well Tone so it looks like you and Massy, along with a few other TH-camrs have done a number on me again (remember the McCartney archive editions I never thought I wanted). After watching some videos on the Beatles Capitol sets I’ve done a complete 180 and decided I do need these sets after all 😊. As I am not buying vinyl these days I decided to buy the CD Capitol Albums box sets Vol.1 & 2 from 2004/2006 that have the original Dave Dexter mixes, and not the US Albums set that came out later in 2014. The only problem was the initial release of The Capitol Albums, Vol. 2 set had incorrect mono versions on a couple of the discs, so I had to track down a seller on Discogs with the later corrected mono release. Massy swears by these sets as being really good quality, so I am looking forward to hearing plenty of reverb on these versions. I actually do like a bit of reverb and one of my favorite tracks from Dave Clark Five “Any Way You Want It” has probably got the record for the most crazy reverb ever. Mike Smith could really belt out a song, he was a great vocalist. I even felt that track wouldn’t be out of place on A Hard Days' Night, kind of got the same feel as “Tell Me Why”. Anyway I hope I won’t be disappointed with the sets when I get them and will be actually be able to hear the differences in the mixes.
Would love to see Paul McCartney’s London Town & Back to the egg reissues! Long over due!
Well said
I'd love to see Off The Ground reissued on vinyl, as I can't get this for love nor money and what copies are available are going for seriously stupid prices..

Hello Mr. Beatley Tone
Since I already have the 2 Capitol albums box sets that came out in the early 2000s and the U.S. albums box set that came out in 2014, I will not be getting this vinyl box set
The only one that I might be getting is A Hard Day’s Night, only to get the original mix instead of the 2009 mix
Now having said that I am very happy that this is coming out so that new Beatles fans or people like you who never owned them could have them
I will definitely be looking forward to your unboxing of the records
Thank you for another awesome video
God bless you, and I will catch you on the next one
Also disappointed to report that the Mind Games items I preordered in May have still not arrived 🤬
Here’s hoping an announcement from the Macca camp is imminent - I need something to look forward to before Xmas 😅

Yes they are great boxes for CD buyers Bill. thanks for supplying great info on what's included
I have the 2014 CD box set. I believe they have different mixes, and I really like the 2014 packaging. It's like the mono box - a cubed box rather than two long boxes.
@@mikeysaint4368 yeah I know it but dont have it
I suppose the real question is, if you don't buy them, will you regret it later?
This means nothing to us in the UK, we want the English albums remixed in stereo, has Giles Martin gone on holiday, very disappointed in this.
I'm from. The States and feel the same way as the people in the UK
@@gram1608 Right, when has anyone ever made money targeting the U.S. market? 🤣
@@kgeo753that's not the point we should have had A hard days night & Beatles for sale remixes as it's 60 years for them.
But this year would've been perfect for a
1964 Boxset with a remix of hard days night and Beatles for sale, a double album of outtakes, both albums in mono and a singles collection LP with stereo remixes on side A and the mono mixes on side B.
PS. I'm a fan of the 2014 US Albums CD set, mainly because it includes properly EQ-d mono versions of the 2009 remasters, including most of their material up to Revolver.
that sounds interesting
Yes the 2004 Cd sets. According to the blurb the new issues are direct analogue mono from the masters Paul
@@kgeo753 A big part of Beatles history
Thanks very much Bill, Im doing ok and getting stronger. Glad you are happy about this release - even as a Brit, I recognise that these albums are a big part of the Beatles history and helped to make them as huge as they became.Im looking forward to hearing these mixes although im not sure that we ever hear any mono records in true mono these days as we play them through a stereo hifi which just replicates the same in each speaker . Enjoy whatever you decide to order when they arrive my friend
I love my Capitol cd boxes from 19 years ago. Beautiful sound and mono/ stereo. Nice.
Thanks very much Daniel glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you are doing well my friend and enjoy your box set when it arrives my friend.
Damn them for selling something that @randyfittante doesn't want!!! What has the world come to?
you're welcome .
@@alanlafromboise3793 Absolutely spot on Alan. I feel the same. Well said !
Looking forward to Ringo Starr’s new Country Album, not sure if we will see another McCartney release this year, but you never know! There could be a December Surprise! Peace ☮️ and Love ❤️
Fingers crossed for the Macca album
Thank you.
These have the original track listing for the US albums - 12 or 11 tracks . Elton B sides box requested noted
Nothing else because late November
Tone your looking great full recovery!!

Thanks for this info. It is available at Target now to pre-order. Could not read the color of they vinyl though.
@sharonevans6864 blue and as I understand yes it's available for pre order
Thanks so much, I placed my order !

Great that you're excited about the box set Jesse - enjoy it when it arrives my friend
Ah well James , we all have our breaking point eh and yours is nostalgic reasons. very expensive in CAD but enjoy the 2 your ordered when they arrive.
Man, I remember that album, The Beatles Story. I think we bought it in1964 or whenever it came out. Thanks for your thoughts on this new box.
You're welcome buddy
"Rory Storm and the Texans", say no more!
Cheers Tone, love to you both.

Pauls lps on 2cd would be enough if box sets not possible?

@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel at least if there was a hardback book or something else included in the box. But pretty sure there isn’t.

Thanks for info

Yes it's a tough decision James because these records are not cheap
Good plan - that makes sense Stephen
I sold most of my original US LPs long ago. Now I have a motley collection of various pressings all in fairly good shape and mostly mono. I'm glad these reissues are coming out for the fans who want them. I don't really need them though.
Sounds like you have tis pretty much covered Stephen so totally get why you're giving these the swerve
Do you think we are getting these 6 albums instead of getting a Super Deluxe BEATLES FOR SALE and a SUPER DELUXE HARD DAY’S NIGHT???
I do yes. For this year anyway
This is a nice release for younger fans who haven’t got the original releases! Its hard to get these used in good condition I’m glad they are available individually if you don’t want the whole collection 300
US dollars is too much but we should expect this from Apple Corp!!
Agree with everything you say here Dave
Hi Tone-
Glad your feeling better.
I pretty much have
stuck to that plan with a few exceptions: Yesterday and Today and Hey Jude US albums.
Thanks for the video Tone, i would rather have a Hard Days Night/ Beatles for sale box set myself personally.
you're welcome James, me too but it is what it is and we have to wait
What a great video have a wonderful weekend ❤😊

Great video and Great shirt!!!! Where did you please get the shirt? If you have a link where I can get it please send this way!
Thanks glad you enjoyed the video. The shirt was a gift so I have no idea where it came from - sorry

I agree these albums are a really important part of Beatles history
First of all this is an Awesome channel and ok as Beatle fans we demand from the people reissuing it 1. Source material 2. Anologe or Digital 3. will it be dumbed down so the kids like it like Abby Road 4. hope better than the original capitals . ALWAYS PREFERD THE UK PRESSINGS end of Story
Thanks very much Mike, glad you enjoy the channel. I am going to cover our demands in a kind of open letter to Apple in a video shorty
@vitocasola4309 oh that’s poor.
I hope they finish this up with the other 6 or 7 vinyls in a box set.😊❤
Me Too Frank

Don’t forget these are mono so no fake stereo here
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel Noted.
Yes totally agree . they have got the pricing wrong on this project
Hi Tone
All well,mate?
@@trevorbrown2813 Thanks for your well wishes Trevor - I appreciate that
I'm probably going to get the 6 albums individually instead of the box set. I can't justify paying over $100 more for the Beatles story and a slip case. What makes these albums appealing to me is that they are mono & all analog. Also, a lot of them are different mixes than the u.k. versions.
Exactly the same reasons I am buying the 6 albums Pete
Hello Tone, how are you feeling man? I'm interested in the box set - i think ive got that Beatles story - id have to check but i think i got it at a convention about 25 years ago!! ... but i think i'll wait for the box set to come down - im guessing it will drop by 25 per cent over 3-4 months......i will buy one of the records on release - maybe the 'a hard days night' album....
Hi kier, Im doing alright thanks mate. Wise plan my friend and I think that box set will reduced in price fairly swiftly . Good choice re AHDN too
I’m disappointed if it’s the thing we are getting this year if I’m honest.
I had heard talk of a vinyl box but thought it might be a reissue of the 2014 mono albums, very surprised with this set.
Id be amazed if that ever gets a reissue although I think they'll continue to stick a mono copy of each album in the Stereo remix box sets like they did for Revolver
Not for me I think. I have them in a boxed CD set. Very disappointed it is not an Ed Sullivan Celebration. Oh well. Great to see you looking so well.
Totally get your disappointment Duncan. Oh well, there;'s always next year. And thank you - Im doing ok
So... ...so far Apple are playing it VERY safe, and remastering early material on vinyl, in all analogue too, but the Dave Dexter mixes.
@@jimconlin5546 Hopefully Jim . Do let me know what the SHMCDs sound like when they arrive
(I was really enjoying a stereo mix of the Help! album the other day.)
I don't have the greatest sound system or the greatest ears, so I may not be able to discern the difference between the best quality UK mixes and the best quality US mixes.

Hi Tone,
Not to sound like I’m putting anyone down for wanting these albums, if you enjoy them that's great, but I really don’t get the point of them unless you grew up in the USA and wanted them for nostalgia reasons.
