  • At the inspirational RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2023, beautiful muted planting palettes soothed the eye and delighted with an extra twist. This video explores three soft and sophisticated gardens with muted planting choices and plenty of style, respectively created by world-class garden designers Chris Beardshaw, Sarah Price, and Jane Porter.

What happens to these gardens after the show?

Great question. The legacy from ‘Myeloma UK A Life Worth Living Garden’ by Chris Beardshaw includes plants and landscaping features relocated to The Hurley Crematorium Memorial Garden, East Renfrewshire, and the beautiful amelanchier tree is transplanted to the Beatson Cancer Centre in Glasgow. Plants from the ‘Nurture Landscapes Garden’ by Sarah Price are relocated to Benton End, as part of the Garden Museum’s restoration scheme gardenmuseum.org.uk/bentonend/ The ‘Choose Love Garden’ by Jane Porter will be relocated to Good Food Matters in Croydon, a community centre and garden focusing on nutrition and sustainable food production, offering specialist support to groups including those forced to flee their homes www.goodfoodmatters.org.uk/mission

I’m not sure about the need to have deep and meaningful back stories for every design entered. I would rather hear the back story of the plants chosen. This presentation sounded like what you read at art galleries.
