Well done Mark. You can be proud of what you accomplished as I am sure you are. Hopefully, we will see you using it in the woods soon. Thanks for sharing brother
Yes sir. I will just need to make a sheath for it then I will be testing it out. It is way too sharp to carry around with out a sheath. I am proud of how it turned out. Thanks for stoppin in Mark. Always great go hear from ya brother.
Hey thanks brother! Each one gets better. I really need to start to concentrating on heat treating my steel. Like get some solid resources on different materials. There is a lot of bad info out there and it is hard to find good instructions. I will test this guy out soon and see how well the steel holds up to some abuse. A pretty knife is just a pretty piece of shit if the heat treat is off. I hope it is good I done want to have to shoot another video bashing my own work. Lol
WoW Mark that's just fantastic. Your are a real artist carving And shaping that handle with an angle grinder👌👌👌 I think your coach And/or mentor Graig might be very proud on how you put at work his advices. Take care Brother it's always an instructive pleasure to watch your videos 👍👍👍👊✌️
Oh man I wish Craig was my mentor! He is the man! I could only dream of making knives as nice and the master (Maplehouse knives). These projects are just to satisfy my creative itch. Lol maybe some day I could consider myself a knife maker but right know I am just a handy man. I am lucky to have a few friends who I can ask questions about the process from time to time. Thanks for the awesome comment my friend. I hope all is well. 🇨🇦🥓🍺
Pretty awesome Mark, you should be proud of yourself! Thanks for the mention, really appreciate that! When hand sanding bevels, I go up to 7000 grit then hand rub with emulsions. I stay away from the buffer as it creates too much heat and can compromise the bond between scales and steel. Awesome job again man!!!👍👍👍
Man I wish I could be a fly on the wall and watch you do your thing man. It would be awesome to see a pro at work. The highest grit I was able to find was 2500 and it was super expensive. Ya I did all the buffing before I glued the handle on and Just did a few touch ups after. I was worried about the epoxy melting. I sanded the spots the scales were going to touch as well as the smooth g10 liners. I have to be a little easier on myself. Looking at it I see things I would change and I know I can do better. That's why I shot that little bit with my first knife and this one so I can see the progression. That first knife I did completely with a file, hacksaw, sandpaper and a bbq. Lol. Thanks for the awesome comments, tips and support over the years man. I appreciate ya brother! 🇨🇦🥓🍺
@@AdventureTimeOutdoors Thanks man, you're too kind! It's my opinion that anyone attempting to build a knife for the first time should do it the way you have done, hand filing. One will quickly learn how much work goes into a project like this and learn to appreciate the dedication. All you need now is a makers mark...a little maple leaf with A.T.O. in the middle. I will speak with my graphic designer next week and see if I can get some made for you and your projects, I'll send em out to you.
Must have been fun cleaning your hands after gluing. Your knife making sure has evolved. Thank you for showing us your work, Mark.. I thought it was a chicken leg you were shaving for a minute. I am looking forward to the sheath making. Leather or Kydex? Or both?
Great looking knife I had to re- figure my machete ended up making it a little shorter but still a good working might not be a good looking machete but it was the very first one I made I have a few others I have to finish up on kinda hard to do while living in a apartment lol but anyways great looking knife bud keep up the great work
Thanks man. I have a few other projects in mind. I'm not sure if I will film them though. Maybe just a quick version of the build. It is a lot of fun modifying and building knives. As long as it works well and performs like you need it to then it is a success in my books.
That's right so far I've made my machete that I sent you a pic of an did two knives one is just a blank profile an the other one I sold to my brother inlaw an he keeps it in his tackle box to cut bait I sharpened it once when I got done with it an he has use the heck out of it an he said it will still shave the hair off your arm lol an i did two temps on it the first temp was at 500° for an hr then let it cool to room temp then did it again at 400° for an hr. So far so good an i made that knife for him almost three years ago an it has held up ever since I've got a bunch of ideas for more just got to find a better place then an apartment complex to do it lol
Man this turned out Great!!!

Hey just watched this with my kids. They were quite impress by your skills.
Oh geez they must have been bored! Were they being punished? Lol
Pretty cool knife build man! always good knowledge!
Thanks man! We will see how well it holds up in the field test after I make the sheath and can carry it safely.

It will be leather for sure. Lol chicken leg was pretty close. My legs are just about the same dead man white lol
I got it before the glue dried so it came off pretty easy with master craft hand cleaner.
